It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

That is some truely beautiful writing in the past few posts guys, applause all around. I wish I was even a third as good a writer as these posts have shown you all to be.

Truth. Writing is a skill, which means natural abilities do matter but that the only way to get better at it is to do it.Avian Obscurities wrote:Practice makes perfect :)

Btw, Frostfell's full name is Frostfell "Rocky" Balboa. That's right, the more his ass is kicked, the more powerful he becomes.

You'll recall, Cyncat, that Rocky lost in the first movie...

Captain Name: Jacob "Jake" Brink
Captain Age: 24
Dragon Name: Skai
Dragon Breed: Pheonix
Dragon Age: 12
Physical Description of Captain: Almost 5'11", with blonde hair, blue eyes and a natural athlete, Jake is by definition the all-american kid in appearance. Although quite popular with the sports community and girls, Jake generally kept to himself and preferred to practice flight maneuvers with Skai or martial arts. Skai is a dragon of few words, Jake being the only one he ever really converses with. Of average middleweight size, Skai is 40 feet long, 20 tons in weight, and has about a 45 foot wingspan. Living up to the name of his breed, his body is all colors of the fabled creature that they are named after.
Background of Captain and Dragon: Originally born in Maine, Jake and his family moved around quite alot due to both his parents being in the military. Both his parents being accomplished captains, they participated in the California Revolutions. During a patrol, Jake's father came across a group of smugglers attempting to carry off a bundle of Pheonix eggs. Between him and his fellow captains, they were able to take out the smugglers and secure the eggs. Filing one as "lost", he gave it to Jake for his 12th birthday which was only a few days later. Skai was born and the bond instantly took place. Although not exactly the brightest of the bunch (not even close actually), Jake's enormous resevoir of patience has made Skai into an excellent scout and blitz fighter, as well as a part-time racer. Unable to conform to the spit and polish of the military, and much to the dismay of his parents, Jake and Skai went into the mercenary business in the unruly territories of the southwest. When word of the war in the east reached their ears, the duo decided it was time to take their skills to the next level and join in on the war effort.

I'm still kinda shady on the looks of the dragon, I'm waiting on details from Havoc, I'll edit when I get them.

Haizu, I like the concept and I like 99% of the history, once you get the rest of the info in I would love to read what you got

Havoc you really ought to slap up the map we made.

I'll do so as soon as I get home tonight, Frigid. And hell, that was enough fun that I might go ahead and do the same for other parts of the world.

A link or a summary of breed details about the Phoenix would be nice. I didn't see them (although I might have missed them) when I checked Havoc's list.

Well he didn't post them on the thread, he described them to me from his computer. Let me talk to him again so that I can get the full list. I've got the gist of it though.

The map:
Apologies for size, I couldn't get the image host to make it any larger. Each of the Nations of what we would call the United States is outlined in a different color. National capitals are marked with Grey crosses, though at this resolution, they are hard to see.
Color code is as follows (capital cities in parentheses):
Blue: United States of America (Washington DC)
Red: Republic of Texas (Austin)
Yellow: Orthodox Nation of Deseret (Salt Lake City)
Green: Republic of California / People's Republic of California / Neuvo Aztlan (San Francisco)
Purple: Republic of Oregon (Seattle)
Orange: Russian Empire (St. Petersburg)
Grey: Disputed area, multiple competing claims, no de facto ruler.
