History: Raised in a small rural town in Virginia that was so small it lacked any road signs to where it was, Lacey grew up amongst rednecks. But she perceived, gaining a full scholarship to a good middle/high school and was the odd girl out there because of her somewhat hillbilly attitude. She had grown up as one of the boys, youngest of seven and the only girl. Graduating with honors (and AP) at age 17 from Lawnden Preparatory School For Girls she flowed into a full scholarship at MIT in computer technologies.

Socially less of an outcast at MIT she grew into a woman and blossomed into a wonderful young slut during her first year. She was seen as the class skank until one night she decided she had had enough with the label. She applied herself to her studies and is on her way to getting into more intense studies in a Masters program at Stanford University if she gets in. She works on weekends as a makeup counter girl at Macy's and in her free time as a freelance computer consultant.

Personality: A social outcast in her youth who tried to overcompensate by becoming a slut, Lacey is now trying to do what she can to be a better person and less of an outcast.

Why would an MIT grad be working the cosmetics counter? She'd get job offers right off the bat, legit and well-paying ones.

Have a very nice day.

And yet she got through school? Are professors not "authority figures?"

People you describe usually either grow up by the time they enter college, or they drop out and become failures. They do not graduate elite colleges with honors and then go to working in a store (is the manager not an "authority figure?")

Have a very nice day.

I have been asked to join.

I respectfully decline, as CoC is not one of the games I like to play.

Well, it looks like we're not going to get any more people, so I was wondering if we could start? If more people want to join up, they can be added to the party later, da?

Have a very nice day.

Ok, some issues with characters here that are going to require some fairly good explainations plus some possible edits..

Game is being set in San Fran.

Utanka,

MIT is across the country...

Plus, really, a MAC cosmetics girl? Going to MIT? Seriously? Authority figures be damned, you're going to be doing SOMETHING better with your time and abilities. I'm sorry, but this is fairly unrealistic and completely bogus. If you're doing MIT or any high end tech school like that, you're going to be at least interning or something somewhere that deals with something close to what you're studying. Because you don't go to schools like that without a strong desire to buckle down, learn your shit and do damned good. So rethink this... Even a deviant savannt is going to do something better than peddling maybelline to rich snooty bitches with more botox than brains. You want computer technology, do something with it! Oh, and hacker is a fairly broad term. Are you one of those hodge podge hackers who bashes kit and 'ware together to create a badass rig? Or are you a cracker? a pirate? a cryptologist? A virus designer? Credit Card hacker? Phone Phreaker? Social Engineering specialist? What?

Badgerman,

Most every pilot I know has something a little bit more than a high school diploma and a certificate from Bob's Sky High Fly!(tm). FAA certifications, a basic college degree, mostly on avionics or something similar, an A&P certification, etc. And some more details would be nice(read: required). And civil aircraft is a bit broad. Are you talking single engine, prop, multi-engine, cargo, passenger, what? Why Arabic? Why rifle proficency for a non-military, non-security, non-anything pilot? Why is the GM having to ask for more specifics on half this shit? Do some basic research for your characters people....

Haizu,

You have a fucked up knee that hurts to run or hell walk on and you have a fairly strong martial arts background, proficencies in 'kicking' and a high dodge skill? Yeah, that normally doesn't work out too well in my experiance... Secondly, you need to figure out your degree and specialties. Seriously... Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General surgery, Hematology,
Immunology, Infectious disease, Nephrology, Neurology, Obstetrics/gynecology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, Pedriatics, Physical therapy and rehabilitative medicine, Psychiatry, Pulmonary, Radiology, Rheumatology, Urology. Took me all of 10 seconds to pull those up in google with a fairly basic description of what they're about. Seriously man, take 10 minutes and do some background...

Again, why is the GM having to do this?

Jason,
You've got Rambo as a mall cop who has a trust fund for 200K a year? Yeah... No? Next problem, San Fran doesn't issue CCWs as far as I'm aware except to government officials, judges, prosecuters, retired/current law enforcement agents. Usually less than 20 of these are in effect at any one time... And why the fuck would Rambo get out of the military with hardcore abilities like that? Especially to go work a demeaning rent-a-pig job. More believable to be private security, body guard type of job. *shakes his head* not to mention a 95% dodge? *rolls eyes* The fact that you put that much into a cthulhu character tells me that for all your proclaimed experiance in this game, you obviously don't know it well enough to avoid the combat monster archtype. Seriously, a beretta carried on duty in a mall? Yeah, you'd be fired and jailed for that, you know.

Sighs...

The GM's head hurts now. The GM is going to go to bed and allow his players to reexamine their sheets and attempt improvements. The GM shall return later...

Well B4, I went for a combat monster archetype because I have actually never in my entire time in playing CoC ever tried that, so I thought I would give it a shot, just once.

As for my character background I will come up with some edits and post a new one in this post as an edit this evening after I get home.

Looks like B4 scared everyone away with his new requirements.

Come back, people! Don't run away! The world needs you!

Have a very nice day.
