Unless we start earlier, I doubt I'd be able to make this week's session. I have a plane to catch at 1:30 pm my time, and I will need to catch the bus and train etc to do so. 8 PM your time is something like 10 AM my time, so it doesn't leave a lot of time to get ready etc.

Ironically, this week would probably be better if we started at the time we started last week.

If it starts at 4 PM (for you guys) I think that translates into 6 AM for me (I think I'm 14 hrs ahead). That ought to be fine I think.

That should be ok. I'll have an interruption or two, but I'll make them as fast as I can.

Session 2 is completed, and everyone is alive and on Nar Shadda. 350 XP for a total of 600.

Ever closer to level 2.

A minor note for bookkeeping, from the 4000 credits we got for the speeder bikes, subtracting docking fees and bribes and the like we have about 3000 credits left. We can either divide that up or keep that as the group fund for the moment.

Also, this Thursday I don't think I can be there any earlier than 8:30pm EST

Also, for the record in case I don't make it, if we have admin access to the spaceport computer I saw we should figure out a way to check who is in the bay, call off the guards, erase our presence in the system and then just steal the damn ship while we're here instead of having to deal with an escort and the possibility of destroying the cargo we're seeking. Maybe even blame it on Black Sun or something. But that's just me

I don't know if I'll be able to make it this week, we're building a deck at my house and thus I've had very little time in the evenings over the past few nights.

Fortunately winter is coming soon and thus in a few weeks no one will want to go outside for extended periods anymore.

I'll be able to tell you all more in a few hours when I know more.

Getting better and better, I have to say.

#64 Update

Post by Marcao »

I have now managed to write a background for my character. It may be teased out and expanded somewhat over the next few days but I am relatively happy with it at this time.

I will need to do so as well - thank you for reminding me. My character's congealing nicely, so this should be relatively easy.

There are some of us that have not fully updated our character sheets. Since the game is tomorrow, doing so may be of interest.

I'm going to be introducing a friend to this game - if he's interested, he'll be joining up soon, and watching a game of ours today. If he's interested, he might play the scoundrel type...or a real Jedi (not the "lol shoot them in face" types like some in this game).

In any case - my HP is fixed; it is now 42.

Some new rules Re: Hyperspace Transit times

Here's the basic version of it, quick and dirty for now.

Transit time is equal to 1d6 HOURS x Hyperdrive Rating x Distance for the moment (system may be revised later to allow for good astrogation checks aiding)

Distance Ratings are:
Set Hyperlanes x0.5
Core Worlds x1
Outer Rim x2
Uncharted Regions x5
Outside Galaxy x10

This is provisional, but it should work.

Sweet, so now we will have a ranged specialist Jedi and a melee specialist. Should lead to an interesting rivalry.

Indeed - it should also lead to interesting directions of character development. Which reminds me, I need to work on fleshing out my character's past better.

Thinking back, there seem to be a couple of patterns that have been emerging in the games so far. These are patterns that I personally have noticed, there may be others that I have missed or that may vary due to different perspectives.

1. Erik seems to always miss the first two attack rolls when piloting a starship, usually by scoring in the 6 and lower range. I hope that this is something that can eventually be overcome since it is a little disheartening at this time.

2. Erik loves to talk (what is he supposed to do with that +12 to persuasion and +12 to deception). People usually tend to agree with him (umm, grand moff domon ordered us here so lower your shields and prepare to be boarded. Oh yeah, if you would be so kind as to leave the ship altogether that would be wise. We all know that when stormtroopers come, they bring and ass whopping with them)

3. Auto-fire is really, really scary and perhaps a little broken. Especially, when employed against characters that have d6 hit dice. o.O

4. At level 2, we have irritated no less than 4 groups of people, at least two of those groups have been seriously annoyed by now. (Jawa the Hutt in Nar Shadaa, Black Sun elements, The slavers we took the ship from, and to a lesser degree the Empire remnants when we claimed we were working for their boss) We should umm, really consider toning down the awesome for a while before we run out of neutral parties to deal with by level 4.

5. If the GM can roll a 20, he will roll so during combat at the most inopportune moment possible. (at level 1, our siang lance wielding jedi was basically almost killed due to a natural 20, at level 2 the citadel class ship was almost destroyed due to a natural 20)

6. If you let the Noble do the talking, not only do things usually turn out alright but we get to profit in some tangible way. (Erik Zaar for Governor!) ^_~

I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING.

But yes, Screenmonkey appears to take devlish glee in having us roll awfully. For a jedi who likes shooting and prides himself on his aim, having a to-hit ratio of a little worse than half is irksome.

Autofire is indeed terrifying. "lulz I just rolled a 2 on my attack roll but that means everyone just got singed and takes half damage!" It is a disquieting thing, and therefore I want autofire on my Siang Lance as soon as possible.

More seriously, I'm digging the game so far, but Autofire does indeed seem to be a better option for most cases than grenades, which is a mite disturbing.

Well, if you have evasion I'm pretty sure that sucks the fun right out of autofire as it is then 'Hit to do half damage, miss to do nothing'. Plus if I remember correctly it really sucks up the ammo, not that we've been tracking that all that much considering the large magazine sizes.

Also, I get the feeling that if Bema the Hutt is keeping tabs on us, he's finding us hilarious, especially considering the amount of damage we've done to potential rivals. But yes, Erik's ability to bluff his way into and out of trouble has served us well and is likely to get quite a bounty out on our heads. But like Bugs Bunny upon learning about the rabbit bounty, I see upping that price through acts of mayhem a matter of personal pride.

Also, when I get enough money I am totally silverplating my gun. Chrome shine + smoother draw = worth it

Actually, as Alan pointed out today, Autofire is less fun as well if proper cover discipline is used, as improved cover will prevent area effect attacks from doing any damage at all.

Also, anyone want to come up with a name for your ship?
