"So we may still have a few days before they make any final decisions," Trys sighted. On one hand, that was more money going out for the price of the ship berth. On the other, it was Coruscant, center of the galaxy ... which meant any supplies and/or entertainment would come with a hefty pricetag. But she couldn't lift off until the Jedi made up their minds.

Dewaddik kept moving, picking up speed and started curving back up, looking to met another group on it's way down. With luck he could hammer it under and keep going. The Twileks were emboldened by Dewaddik's solution to their problem. All three groups aimed to converge on the Wookie's location.

Asarak knew slightly before the bolts were fired which would fire first and was already in motion. He deflected the first bolt and moved inside the fire arc of the second, effectively stepping under it and allowing it to strike the floor, then he swept his saber in front of him in a short concise arc to deflect the ones in front of him.Cynical Cat wrote:Two remotes hovered at a height of two meters and confronted Asarak head on while a third droid circled high on the left and a forth circled low to the right. The remote's blaster bolts were set so that they would only cause a slight sting.
The one on the left opened up and then the one on the right. After a moment, the ones directly in front of the Jedi Padawan joined in the barrage.

Unfortunately Asarark he moved low to evade the remote on the right, which was flying at just above knee height. The parried the shots from the left and disabled the remotes in front of him, but he paid a price. Two stinging shots him in the right side.

Dewaddik moved to strike at two Twileks before they could join with their friends. They had, unfortunately, other plans. Both of them had picked up fair sized chunks of scrap metal at the site and hurled them at the Wookie when he was about five meters away.

In any real situation, those shots would have been lethal. As a result, the remotes reset and gave him a few moments to recenter himself. He had relied too much on his precognitive abilities when dealing with multiple opponents and he fell victim to left-right confusion.
"I need to do a better job integrating stimuli" he said aloud. "How I survived for so long when I fall victim to such small mistakes I have no idea"
He recentered, and focused more on the moment at hand rather than the moment before.
"Restart simulation from prior position" he said, as he got back into position.

The remotes moved back into position. Two were at chest height in front of Asarek. One went low and to the right and the last went high and to the left. They awaited a commencement order.

Asarak re-centered himself. Going into less deep a trance, keeping his mind equally on the future and the present, as well as his own body so that he did not fall victim to the same issues that foiled him the first time. He got into his stance and issued the command.

Dewaddik felt almost offended. He of course applauded the Twileks for at least attempting to change the terms of the combat, to do otherwise was to die like a prey animal. But scrap metal?!? Against a Wookie! These thoughts flashed through his furred head in the bare seconds that his body reacted to the projectiles.Dewaddik moved to strike at two Twileks before they could join with their friends. They had, unfortunately, other plans. Both of them had picked up fair sized chunks of scrap metal at the site and hurled them at the Wookie when he was about five meters away.
Dewaddik leapt up, his arms outstretched above his head to grab the railing above, his knees pulled up to his chest to lever his body above the metal, he would throw himself forward with the surety only a Wookie could do without the force when the metal passed him.

The Twilek's were vicious and stupid, but their stupidity had limits. Upon seeing the Wookie easily avoid their projectiles and begin to swing towards them, they decided that discretion was the better part of valor. They ran.

The remotes in front of Asarak opened fire, followed a moment later by the one on the right. The remote on the left circled around behind the Jedi Padawan.

Dewaddik considered chasing them but in the end decided to let them go. He started climbing upwards, he only had to deal with two more groups. Then he make sure the girl was okay and get something to eat, all this exercise was making him hungrier! The Twilek's were vicious and stupid, but their stupidity had limits. Asarak swept is saber in an arc in front of him to deflect the first pair of bolts, then swung the tip down and to the right to deflect the third. Then he stepped forward and to the left pivoting so that all four droids irrespective of whether he had managed to disable them or not would be more or less in front of him.

"Yes, well, you know, Jedi," said Neilus. He waved for the dessert menu. "They're very handy, but they can be annoying until the world grinds the edges off them. Now, I'm partial to the Corellian spiced chocolate pudding. With brandy, of course."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The other Twileks closed toward Dewaddik, but the Wookie's rapid movement had opened the distance between them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Asarak's blade deflected the incoming fire and countered the remote's maneuvers. The remotes stopped moving and instead opened up with a barrage of fire.

Trys sighed. "It's not fair how you know just the right bribes, Uncle.... I'll have the pudding as well. With the brandy."

The Force moved within Asarak, allowing him to integrate data from precognition and his senses to detect the path of incoming bolts. He positioned his body to minimize exposure and moved back to make the angles less scattered and force some of them coming in at more oblique angles to undershoot him.
He opened himself to The Force and put on a burst of speed, not in body-displacement, but in limb movement and angled his saber with each sweep to deflect as many blaster bolts away from himself as possible.

"A good choice, my dear," said Neilus.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Asarak's sweeping parries deflected the incoming bolts. The remotes on the left momentarily stopped firing and began to maneuver to circle around the Jedi and attack him from a different angle.

Casual conversation continued over dessert, but the evening was clearly winding down. "Thank you again for inviting my crew and I, Uncle. We rarely get the chance to just visit anymore," Trys said as the last dishes were being cleared away. "I fear we should be heading back to the ship, however."

The night wound down. Dewaddik returned with some gnarled fur, a few bruises, and gloriously victorious. Asarak continued sparing until fatigue took him and others went to bed with full bellies. In the morning the Jedi were informed of their new mission when they woke up.

"I see." said Asarak when he was informed of his assignment. He had hoped he would be able to stay a bit longer and retrain. However he also knew that there was no one to train him and that any lessons that needed learning would be best learned outside the temple. He and Riv would be good to smooth out the others' edges. Her did not know the other man very well and had not tried to enter his mind to find out what those edges were, which was well guarded and a forced entry would have failed. That and it was unethical and down right rude. However he suspected that were similar enough to be trouble, but different enough to correct the other.
He would need to disguise himself, and that meant concealing his saber. He knew the wardrobes generally had civilian clothes for just such an occasion. The biggest problem he faced was finding something that would allow the use of his tail. After a bit of rummaging he found something that would work. A long skirt that was slit up the front to just above his knees, and up the the sides and rear to his mid thighs, allowing full freedom of movement, while being aesthetically pleasing and non-revealing. Not that he had external genitals to worry about, he had a cloaca, but humans dictated fashion. He even found it in a nice earthtone motif which contrasted nicely with his scales. The selection of shirt was much easier. A brown long-sleeved shirt and a black leather vest. He would also need to place to conceal his lightsaber. He thought about just using his cloaca which was non-enervated and did have enough space, but his saber hilt was curved that would make it exceedingly uncomfortable. As a result of that, the thought of which made him shiver a little bit, he decided to use a sleeve strap for his saber, and a strap at the base of his tail right by his cloaca for the other.
He also found a belt for hanging a blaster, which he managed to scrounge in the temple as well as a few other useful items, such as a a spool of small diameter cord with a grapple. He looked in the mirror, and was satisfied that he not only did not look like a Jedi, but that he looked more the part of a civilian merchant. He then went to find Riv.

Dewaddki was sleeping in. When he woke up he would have to figure out how to wash the purple coloring out of his fur. It was unlikely that anyone would buy his explanation about where the boots came from.

Trys was already up and in the living area with her usual morning cup of Klah, a liquid stimulant with a bitter-sweet spicy aroma. She was looking up all the information she could on Maraleen, both past and recent, focusing especially on trade to and from the system. While the crew was going to be looking into illegal weaponry, it was always wise to have a separate cover-reason for being in-system. Everyone gets boarded eventually.
"Why of course you can board, sir, I'm just carrying Entertainment Cubes from Coruscant to the Outer Rim... Pirated copies? Why, I'd never!" she muttered to herself, a second datapad showing lists of possible cargo. Profit was Profit, and if the Sunrise could make a little extra (or a lot extra) on the trip, that was more cash that could be used for the weapons sting. Uncle Neilus' up-front payment was already in the coffers, a nice base to build upon.

Dewaddki woke up muttering and after doing some morning grooming, headed to the galley to eat. He would get rid of the purple fur dye after breakfast.

Zyke walked through the galley rubbing his eyes as he chatted with Ermey who followed behind him, whistling in an urgent tone.
"Well yes, we'll have to replace the repulsordrive eventually, but it probably won't have a serious failure unless we put that kind of strain on it. We'll get a spare drive while we're still here and just keep it for when the current one-" he paused as Dewaddik walked in, squinting his eyes in disbelief at the multicolored wookie. Ermey let loose a wild whistle and chattering series of beeps as it made some crude comments about Dewaddik's exploits the night before.
"I'm guessing this is a five drink minimum story, and it will wait. Just, let me know what sort of trouble I can expect when I go to the parts shop."

Kelran wandered into galley, intending to get some caf to start off the day. He opened his mouth to say good morning to Trys and Zyke before catching sight of the wookie. Completely at a loss for words, he moved his mouth a few times before giving up and walking over to the caf machine, deciding that he needed it before he could even grasp the concept of a purple stained wookie.

"Dewaddik, meet Kelran," Trys made the introductions. "He's our new crewmember, and my cousin. That means if he pisses you off, you're not allowed to maim or kill him, or anything that will bruise him longer than a Standard Week".
