It took longer for Pathfinder to reach the base, but he'd been in radio contact far sooner with the "nothing here" reasons of the recon. So, when he arrived several minutes later, he simply transformed and nodded to Deathstrike and Misfire. "So, reported to the higher-ups yet?"

Far as Pathfinder knew, BreakOut was still in a meeting with the human 'brass'. When he'd first asked Hunter why they were called 'brass' the answer had him laughing for roughly a human hour.

"I radioed in," said Deathstrike. Humans didn't have built in comm gear of course, but his opinion the only authority figure here was Breakout.

Flash seemed taken back for a few moments, before refocusing, We have a few hours before the briefing, I suggest recalling your people and making sure you have your gear prepped for the deployment."
"My bots have already finished their recon, Sgt Major Flash. It appears that there is no German presence within the region. I would welcome your attendance during the debriefing if you like." I reply. I need to check the plans and find what the objective of the drive is. My hope is that we are moving inland. While we could liberate the Baltic republics entire, it would not impact the war in any great way, just create a pocket of allied troops with their back to the Baltic sea. We need to drive inland, and push towards areas the Enemy will regard as his heartland not to mention imperiling their supply line. We should be heading to Warsaw as our ultimate objective of the campaign.

Deathstrike walked toward Breakout, the servos in his legs whining as he moved. "Recon complete. The German presence in this region is minimal. We should begin offensive operations as soon as possible."

Pathfinder walked up beside the larger Cybertronian. "Deathstrike's right; No 'Cons, and no Germans other than the ones he took care of."

"We need to attack," said Deathstrike impatiently. Organics were so slow on the uptake. Their thinking apparatii were little more than warm porridge. It was a wonder they could do science at all.

Breakout contacted his troops via radio.

"Bots, good news. We are moving out in 96 hours. Overload, please report me to me within 4 hours. We will have a unit meeting in 12 hours where your assignments to prepare for operations will be outlined." Breakout announced. He was sure that his bots knew enough to spend the next 12 hours ensuring they themselves and their personal gear were ready to go.

"Ninety six hours?" Deathstrike said incredulously. "Ninety-six? Four local days before we begin to move?" No wonder the Germans were winning if this was what could be expecting of the American elite.

"It's not like they can box up themselves and move, Deathstrike," Pathfinder countered. "Look around us -- ammo boxes, gasoline, food supplies... They can't just pick up and pile it into their cargo-holds."

"Yes sir." Overload nodded to Breakout. He'd not collected the milbot tradition of saluting, but that meant little compared to getting the job done, in his mind.

"Ninety six hours to load trucks for the American warrior elite with us helping?" Deathstrike questioned mockingly. "Soft and weak." He turned and walked away. "I'll be assisting Doctor Killian with her materials if anyone needs me for a more vital task."

Cavalier hated to agree with Deathstrike, he really did, but the base fact was that he was just as eager to get moving as the Decepticon, and that was that. It wasn't the humans' fault, after all. Fragile little organic beings, it was a minor miracle they were able to fight at all. The sheer amount of all the stuff the humans had to lug with them in order to fight effectively boggled the mind, to the point where for every human with a gun fighting on the front lines, there were often as many as seven or eight others somewhere else building, shipping, fixing, or preparing all of the ten thousand different objects and supplies that the humans appeared to need. And then on top of that, once the humans did get themselves into combat, nine out of ten of them would never strike a blow, instead serving as distractions or providing assistance to the relative handful of human fighters that ever employed their weapons to effect.

Small wonder that they needed the Cybertronians.

"Four days is a long time," he said over the com line. Any chance we can do some fixing before things get underway?"

*--------------------------------------------------------------------*

Hornet meanwhile had landed nearby without incident, or near enough. Truthfully his mind had been elsewhere, racing at the fact that he was being allowed to fly, and of the fight that he had just been told was coming. So it was that he flubbed the landing, coming down hard enough that had he been a human plane, he would have crushed his own landing gear and gouged a furrow down the runway. Cybertronian metals were stronger stuff however, and so all he got was a (fortunately brief) spike in his hydraulic shock absorbers, sore landing gear, and a stern remark from the Russian flight controller who proceeded to speculate on whether or not Hornet was drunk.

Sheepishly, he shifted back into humanoid form and, limping slightly from the botched landing, walked over to where Breakout was, hoping rather intensely that the Autobot commander hadn't been monitoring the flight controller frequencies.

"Um... Hornet reporting back... sir?" he said rather awkwardly, and considered trying to salute but decided against it, as he wasn't certain which salute to use. Breakout had said they had 12 hours before the briefing, yet he had expended no munitions during his flight and refueling would take bare minutes.

"What... what should I do?" he finally asked, unable to think of a better way to put it. He did remember to tack "... sir." onto the end.
Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair...

Havoc: "So basically if you side against him, he summons Cthulu."
Hotfoot: "Yes, which is reasonable."

I consider reminding Hornet that he doesn't need to call me Sir and think better of it. It would only distress him right now to be reminded. I pat Hornet on the shoulder.

"Go ahead and refuel Hornet. If you like see if you can help any of the humans with packing up. Consider yourself free otherwise until the briefing. Stay on the ground for now though. Don't worry there will be plenty of flying later." I say.

"Good idea. Maybe if we help with the packing we can get the convoy moving faster," Pathfinder suggested, looking at Breakout to see what the Milbot thought. "Unless the Joes are waiting on a last shipment, there's no reason we can't have Overload loaded up and take a load of cargo ourselves."

Armour plates and crates of ammunition and equipment almost flew into trucks as Deathstrike went to work. The Decepticon's legs could cover the distance between the workshop and the trucks in almost no time and his immense strength allowed him to shift tons of gear in mere minutes. Humans packed and hauled the more delicate equipment, but Deathstrike shifted the bulk of the gear in less than an hour.
