Good news, and bad news.
The good news is that I confirmed today that I'll be going back to getting Sundays and Mondays as my weekend.
The bad news is that this won't happen until mid-November.
But, it's at least confirmed - and I'll store up the seething hatred for Mondays I've been developing for when I come back. People's faces are gonna get melted, ya'll.

Welcome to the Omen of Majesty, where Saturday Night is FIGHT NIGHT! Remember if you're new to the crew... YOU HAVE TO FIGHT!

My every-other-Monday-night class starts tonight, so I won't be around for the start of the session. I was hoping I'd be able to show up around 10pm eastern and catch the tail end of it, but Hurricane Irene has left us without power for an as yet indeterminate amount of time. That should be possible in the future though.
Somewhat ironically, morning classes were cancelled toady. My only morning class: Environmental Hazards.

Rules of the Omen:
1: Yes, we're going armed.
2: No, we're not trusting them.
3: Of course it's a set up.
4: No more costume parties.
Also, the Inquisitor only tortures the Captain because she likes him.

Dammit! I leave you guys alone just once and you run afoul of the Inquisition.
Power looks like it's going to be out until the weekend. Some trees took down nearby high tension wires and a local substation flooded.

Ok as you may have noticed, I have been absent or late these past few games. My interest in this game has apparently fallen significantly so I am formally bowing out of this one.
I will try and keep an eye out for the Deathwatch game if it comes around again though.

I'll likely be missing until about 10pm eastern. If the Omen of Majesty isn't a charred hulk by then, I will endeavor to heroically save you all from such a fate at that time by making my way to an escape pod.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel the game today. I'm feeling increasingly sick and I don't think I'll be up to GMing.

The game will be next week.
1) Everyone will have +1500xp
2) The game will open 24 hours game time after defeating the Thousand Sons sorcerer. After intensive and bloody fighting, the Karakan dynasty has established control over both ships, although fighting continues and there are pockets of resistance on both ships. You are in a desolate star system, strewn with gas clouds and asteroid belts, not far from the system where you have the refueling station.

Time to clear my head and get back to plotting and scheming against a sector of undesirable, dangerous malcontents that work against my aims to bring order and the rightness of the way of the Emperor against it, instead of just you all as players.
It is a good thing, perhaps, that we as characters have not had much time to collect our heads, for I as yet have not, and will likely be run ragged the next month or so. So, you know, business as usual on board the Omen of Majesty.
I'll be slowly updating the Rogue Trader Obsidian Portal site again, as is the character snapshots are pretty out of date. Sadly, there are as of yet no dynamic sheets for 40K on that site, which is starting to vex me. Anyone who wants to help me with some of the paperwork to keep everything orderly is more than welcome to.
My suggestion is going to be we start setting up things as follows. First up, for the wiki section, we create a page for our Profit Factor, and with it, a log of what is what with regards to when we earn some additional assets. On the same page, a table of the most common aspects of making trade (I have some things to transfer from my NBOS Keep files there), with notes on our various holdings and dealings.
We're going to try and break things down thusly: Holdings on our ship, the ship itself, then our "fleet", stationary holdings, possibly with a map with notes on it, and then current and/or potential future endeavors, both our own and ones we can entrust to our organization.
There's also going to need to be a proper threat assessment to be done. Winterscale is an obvious first issue, but then we'll have to keep an eye on Chorta, the Cartels, Orks, and those aliens. I'm sure there's more coming down the line, but we'll still be needing to keep records on our interactions with them thus far.
Then, of course, there will be our potential assets. The Inquisitor, Varagon, the Cousin's Family, the Eldar, and potentially Admiral Horne.
And, of course, the massive shopping list. I'm...really going to need to end up sorting that whole thing out so I know what's what on that, and what more we'll be adding now that Hostile Acquisitions is out. Oh, and not for nothing, but I have Chimera stats now. We're going to pimp one. That's all.
Anyone want to volunteer for any duties?

I got alot of spare time at the moment, so I could help. You'll have to explain everything but such is life.
Additionally I have come up with a foolproof plan for dealing with the Chaos Captain.
Step 1: Find the Captain.
Step 2: Kill the Captain.
Step 3: Urinate on his body, because he has annoyed me.
Seriously though, what we need to do is find a way to block off sections of the ship one at a time and clear them out. Then with luck we can drive him into a small space and butcher him like cattle. You know, the preferred way we deal with our enemies.

So after some messing around, I'm fairly confident of my ability to handle things using the Roll20 site. It's another browser based system and all you have to do is go there and make player accounts, which costs you nothing.

I shouldn't be, since I am going in the morning but I may be late come Monday. I am applying for a job at a call center and if they ask me to stay, my answer is going to be "Yes for as long as you need."

I have strep throat, and go through intermittent fevers. I am going to be throwing in the towel this evening.

Massive ATT outage today. No ETA on fixing it. Doesn't look like I'm gonna make it tonight.

Okay I got a problem. My Hindi class got bumped up, it now ends every Monday at 5:45pm. It won't affect next game because classes don't start til Wednesday. Afterwards? I'm gonna be at least an hour late til daylight savings.

Just a reminder, there will be no game this Monday due to once in a blue moon schedule shenanigans.

#223 Re: Deathwatch or Rogue Trader
Just did some testing with Roll20, and I found a nice little way to roll our various Tearing weapons that is handy. By typing out (or making a macro of) the roll as follows, the die roller will automatically drop the lowest die from the calculation (it will still show it, but just not count it in the total). The format is:
X is the number of dice rolled, say 2d10 for a bolt weapon, Y is the number of dice dropped, in this case usually just one, and Z is any damage modifier that may exist. So a bolt gun (or pistol) could be written out as /r 2d10d1+5
And if you don't want to type that every time, you can make a macro which will create a button at the bottom of your screen that you can press whenever you need to use it. Great for those pesky automatic weapons. Downside, you can't have any spaces in your macro name, so don't write "Bolt Pistol", write "BoltPistol", and you'll be fine.
For further fun, here's an example using Havoc's new favorite gun, at full power:
/r 4d10d1+5
It's nothing big, but I found it cool.
For my next trick, custom dice via cards.
Code: Select all
/roll Xd10dY+Z

Well, since CynCat won't be there on Monday, and we're still on a bit of a Rogue Trader kick, how about a flash game of ONLY WAR?
Where you can be armsmen/guardsmen of the Omen of Majesty, sent to explore and contain a strange space hulk on the Captain's mad orders?
Sound good? Then let's do this! Meet me on skype and we'll make characters over the weekend or on the day of. I'll have regiments ready to go for you to use in Character creation, and there will only be three banned classes in the game itself (Commisar, Ogryn, and Ratling).
What benefit will there be in the main game? Probably none, because you're all probably going to die horribly, in true Guardsman fashion! But I can promise one thing, it will be fun!

Rules for the Omen of Majesty's "Regiment", of which you shall all be from.
