Deathstrike found her performance when security arrived and the little "you shouldn't have intervened" speech to have been less than honest. He's not a 'bot with much tolerance for half truths, partial truths, and other such "gray area" obfuscations. Note that part of it never got onto the message so Blastcap doesn't know about.

Ah, I see. No wonder it was confusing me.

You know, thinking about it seems that most everyone just assumes Blastcap to be an Autobot. Is there anything about her that seems particularly Autobot-like?

You see Frigid, this is why you should have let me play Hornet. Hornet would not have gotten into this sort of a mess before the fighting even started.

"This sort of mess?"

I'll grant you that one - had you been playing Hornet, there would be an entirely different, but no less impressive sort of mess he'd be involved with.

If I let you play Hornet odds are good that Fort Optimus would be in flames by now.

Listening to you people, you'd think Hornet was some kind of physical embodiment of Murphy's Law.

I think General Havoc just likes to play troublesome characters.

Though Cavalier seems to be suffering some serious tunnel vision here. Deathstrike simply cannot turn the FWA into yet another Decepticon engine of conquest. I mean he can try, but after the GDE is destroyed there would be nothing to keep the LFS from simply rolling over him. The FWA doesn't have the resources to be a contender, they are only important because the situation is a deadlock and a small advantage for one side or the other could turn the tide. Cavalier is basically worrying that Deathstrike will take the straw that breaks the camel's back and use it to become the Camelbreaker. It doesn't work that way.

For God's sake people, Hornet was honestly not that bad. Yes, he caught Breakout in the blast radius of a bomb once, but it was a single mistake in the midst of a massive general clusterfuck regardless. He was far more of a danger to himself than to any other character, and with one or two exceptions, he never even got into an argument with any other player, let alone set fire to the Ark. Most of his hijinks were just that. If he were here, he'd certainly not be in the same level of pissed-offitude that Cavalier is.

And regarding Cavalier, he's extrapolating behavior of other Decepticons he's dealt with (see above) to this case, both on the macro-level and the micro-level. He can explain his issues better in his own words, but I'll point out that rejecting his concerns because additional multi-decade, hundred-billion-casualty wars over a quarter of the galaxy would render these problems moot is not exactly compelling to him.

You sound so defensive. I think they're just playing with you. Your character made an impression on their minds, after all.

As for myself, I didn't say troublesome characters were bad. I think they're great, grand! They are flint upon which I can strike my steel and create the sparks of conflict that ignite the fires of drama! I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun as I've been having without Cavalier around to inspire me. For that, I thank you. Heh, and also thanks to Cynical Cat for adding Deathstrike's inimitable touch. And to frigidmagi and everyone else for being good sports about it!

Havoc, all the jokes and comments made are because they're interesting characters - Hornet and Cavalier both. I'm not saying that they're not fascinating characters, and I don't think anyone else is doing so.

Hehe, sorry, didn't mean to snap. I've been accused before (elsewhere) of intentionally sabotaging games with my choice of characters. So I'm very glad people think Hornet and Cav are interesting enough to argue with :)

I hope not. I want to see what it looks like when a fleet enters a space bridge. More like time for some GM narration. Though, that's assuming the transit is instantaneous. If there is any appreciable time in transit, then yes, we should skip over it.

Apologies, space bridge launch will occur tomorrow, I'm a bit distracted.

It's cool - we have to wait on stragglers anyway.

Alright, for the record, passive sensors are low powered sensors. Mostly infrared or similar in nature (radar is active). They cannot give good targeting information but can confirm the position and nature of the scanned object. The ping is your own sensors picking up the fact that you are being scanned.

Questions?

Is it possible to see where the scans are coming from?

I have decided that since Blastcap is a grizzled old merc, she will regularly have an anecdote or story relating to whatever is currently happening. If any of you want more detail, just ask her at an appropriate time. I love coming up with little stories like that. While she is guards her private matters jealously, Blastcap is quite proud of some of her exploits and will happily relate those stories. Just be warned that some facts may be altered or omitted. ^_~

Uphill, both ways, in the snow, past rabid dogs, where it rained everyday, wearing nothing but a burlap sack, to a tiny home you shared with eighteen other family members, for all-day work that got you nothing but one energon credit a year?
