#1 Dragon Age: Lost Eminance
Chapter 1: Embers of the Blight
The game will be starting on Monday, during the same time slot as the Rogue Trader game, 8p-12a Eastern Monday/Tuesday. That's something like 5p-9p for you crazy West Coast heretics.
As usual, we will use Skype for talking, Screenmonkey for tabletop and dice rolling. The Obsidian Portal site will be used for general shenanigans like character sheets, adventure logs, and whatever else you want to put up there. Several people are using the dragon age character creator to make portraits for their characters on the site, which in turn lets me make miniatures for them in Screenmonkey.
Some quick notes, to people I've not yet had the chance to talk to regarding rule changes. First off, I'm combining weapon groups and skill focuses, in that if you gain one or the other, you can opt to use them for either. This will allow other classes to use weapons they normally couldn't, and give fighters the chance to pick up a few more skills. Note that this also means that a fighter could use a weapon group increase to get a skill focus in a weapon group he already has.
Second, I'm going to allow herbalism to mix with chirurgy, using the basic rules for potion-making from poisons. Since there are fewer herbalism potions in the game currently, learning novice chirurgy will allow you to make basic herbalism potions, and pick 1 recipe (mana or healing) that you already know. Additional recipes will have to be learned as you go, and additional ranks in chirurgy will allow you to make more potent potions.
Third, while this won't come into play right away, I will be allowing a talent every level, rather than every other level, with the limitation to rank being that you can't have a rank higher than half your level, rounded down (First level being the exception, clearly). Novice = 1, Journeyman = 2, Master = 3, so the earliest you could learn any journeyman talent is level 4, earliest master talent is level 6.
See you Monday everyone.

So given that CT left me a copy of Dragon Age I decided to play it today... Not happening. Duncan keeps crashing the game. See I went with human noble, and i get through the first 4 minutes of discussion with my character's dad, he says summon Sir Duncan and down goes the game, everytime.
Conclusion: Duncan either hates or is hated by my computer. I may have to have it checked for Darkspawn taint.

stupid power outage shut everything down, and I got frustrated resetting everything, so that's why I vanished and didn't come back :(

Due to CynCat and Marcao not being able to attend, I think it may be best to postpone the game until next week.

Just to remind everyone, the game is on for tonight, barring any catastrophes.

Well, given the extent of the damage to the local tree population, I'd be surprised if Hotfoot and Marcao have power. I certainly don't and I'm not likely to have it back for at least a week. The sheer number of trees-on-power-lines and downed lines would swamp the best power company, and JCP&L holds a special place in my heart as not-the-best-power-company.
If the game does happen, Martaine needs a bath.

If you don't have power by tomorrow, bring your laptop to our place and we'll shower you with our scorn and hate, I mean understanding and love...
But leave your blackout having ways at home, please.

Trick or Treat won't be over until 8:30, so I may be late. My neighborhood is very active, as it's well-lit and safe.

Up all night unable to breathe
All day at work surviving on Tea, Halloween cookies, candy, cake, and Dayquil
Handing out candy starting at 5:30p
Projected result: Crash Dead to World shortly after 8p.
Unless I keep up the Sugar High......

I've come to the conclusion that *quil works by negative reinforcement. You get well so you don't have to choke down another nauseating shotglass of the stuff.

Due to two potentially large issues with regards to attendance of some of our players, combined with my own tiredness from the last week, and having nothing at all to do with anything related to any other games whatsoever at all as mitigating factors, I think it best if we postpone the game until next week.
Don't worry, plenty of time to stew over what's to come next...

Just a reminder to everyone that, barring some catastrophe, we're set for tomorrow at 8PM Eastern for the game. Tev, Karrick, you have the opportunity to make purchases with a 25%/10% discounts for copper/silver prices respectively for any gear you may desire.
Also, as a recommendation, if everyone could make sure that the crunch part of their character sheets reads in a format similar to this, I would would appreciate it.

Anything after that is totally up to you, but this is just so I (and you) have good numbers to reference to speed up play. Thanks. :)Maim

I'm sorry to do this on short notice, but I'm afraid I will not be able to attend tomorrow's game, as I've got an unavoidable family matter that I must deal with.
Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair...
Havoc: "So basically if you side against him, he summons Cthulu."
Hotfoot: "Yes, which is reasonable."

I may or may not be able to make it. If I end up not being there, I leave Eliseath in Frigid's care. I understand Frigid may use him as an arrow sponge, but trust him not to do this, because he is family for all intents and purposes and he would never Ever do that to me.

Just as a reminder, there will be a strong push for a game this coming monday. I hope you enjoyed your vacations, because it is for reals now. You're all level 3, make sure you are certain of your level up decisions, because you might just need them.
