Hypersonic five inch guns generate quite a bit of recoil. Those had better be some damn good magnets.

And this would be part of the reason Farshot's engines are so powerful - recoil is a bitch with that gun.

On the other hand, being able to perform heavy sniping from orbit is worth it.

*Le Sigh* It's not heavy sniping, it's orbital bombardment.

How blurry does that line get when the accuracy is excellent?

The line doesn't blur. That's what makes orbital bombardment so awesome. And your character isn't that accurate.

That, my good man, depends entirely on whether or not I have a smartfog out as a spotter.

No, it depends entirely on frigid and I'm pretty sure I know what he'll say on this matter. Smartfog just lets you know that there's something there to shoot, it doesn't make you accurate.

Laaaaate, again. >.<

Anyway, you know how every military always has a few of these things that make you go, "My God, what where they thinking!?" Well, Blastcap found one of the FPA's. She is not best pleased.

That produces an image of Cavalier's alt mode being Cavalier, just with ginormohuge feet.

Also, non-sequitor, but what the heck. My tablet tried to turn ginormohuge into 'subordinate.' ...How?

I guess Cavalier is going to miss out on the fight, since Havoc's not posted.

I'm giving Havoc a few more hours but tonight expect a new post. Expect violence. I'm still cranky over the doctor thing.

Cavalier did respond to the alarm, "This is Cavalier. Give me some targets, and I'll show them a magic show..."

So it could be safely assumed that he's along for the attack.

As for Blastcap, she's made her own arrangements, and is bringing along some friends for the ride. ^-^

I'm sure Frigid would agree that the Marine Combat Engineers are the ones who go in Before the Grunts with Guns, and they either have the best job or the worst job, depending on who's looking at it.

However, they also get the best Stories, going by one of my old friends who was MCE.

Whoops, I meant to write that the Pioneers are first in line with the shock troops, not second to them. Fixed.

Also, a note: My first reference to the unit was 273rd Engineer Regiment, in the post that cover's Blastcap's three weeks and her response to the alarm. I retconned it to 273rd Pioneers. On the grounds that a unit designated "Engineers" isn't part assault marines, and that it doesn't really matter whether Blastcap is with battalion, regiment, or brigade. As a bonus "Pioneers" sounds awesome. ^-^

Someone please let me know if I'm handling Military Intelligence correctly? while I think I'm doing things right, I've never been military. My only experience is books, movies, and TV, and you have to admit most of Transformers comics were rather light on the Intel side of things.

Still, based on what knowledge I do have, the Command ship should be the lynchpin.
Unless someone decided to be sneaky and move out to the wing. :???:

I think you're doing fine, Lady Tevar! It's pretty obvious the Decepticons are being lazy, so it's unlikely they'd do anything clever, and having your flagship be the keystone of the formation is pretty conventional. So you analysis is fine.

You've done a good job on selling me Shimmer as an intelligence specialist. Don't worry too much about whether you make mistakes. Nobody bats 1.000, so if you ever make a gross error in judgement, we can take it as Shimmer just being outwitted by a competent opponent.

You know, I just realized. Deathstrike has two MBTs inside of himself. The guy must be huge, like C-5 Galaxy or An-124 huge.

You're doing just fine - intelligence work is never cut and dried, especially in the middle of a firefight.

Deathstrike has two Transformers in him, not two MBT's. Simply for the fact that neither Grindstone nor Cavalier are in vehicle mode, but in robot.

Grindstone is only about 28ft tall in robot mode, Cavalier is probably in the same ballpark, I'd imagine. The inside of Deathstrike's Alt-mode only needs to be large enough for them to stand, and since most War-Form Transformers were close to those sizes anyway (if differing configs), it's not uncommon to think Deathstrike would have the internal capacity for it.

Plus, there's precedence for the inside of TF alt-modes to be larger - Astrotrain for instance, or the Autobot Broadside. Even the "City-Formers" Trypticon and Metroplex lend crecidence to this ability.

It's almost as if I picked a transpo form on purpose, like say a guncutter instead of a heavily armed interceptor. Oh wait, that's exactly what I did.

Well, I mean I hate to be pedantic, but Cavalier IS an MBT, whether he's in vehicular form or not, so technically Deathstrike does have two MBTs inside him.

I was imagining something large enough to carry a tank on an external clamp or attachment point. Basically about the size of an Mi-26. And indeed your character sheet suggests as much: "Transport: As a guncutter he can carry several small 'bots internally and a medium sized 'bot attached to his undercarriage. The heavier the load, the more his flying suffers."

I don't care at all if things get retconned in the service of narrative imperative, and it looks to me that with the way things have developed a larger Deathstrike fits the story better. Say the size of a C-130. Pretty sure there's enough room for two tanks in a Hercules, just not enough lift capacity, but Cybertronians and their technology make lifting capacity a moot point. I note Deathstrike's alt-form is going to be significantly larger in volume than his android form on account of all the empty cargo space. Yet Deathstrike is still huge any way you cut it. This isn't bad, it's just a fact.
