Alright, how the heck does the dice code work on this forum?

It doesn't right now. We had dice code working on the old board but with the upgrade the code no longer works and we haven't found/coded newer code to deal with the issue. So for the time being dice rolling aint happening via the board...

The only dice code I HAVE found for this forum type, is currently broken, and the person who maintains it doesn't have time to fix./update it till decemberish.


So, until then, I'll be handling most nessacry dice rolls, and that'll only be for big stuff. Worry more about the storytelling for now, and less on the dice rolling.

and Jans...the meeting is for a hour past sundown. There's a side "residential" entrance to the building, that'll take you up a stairwell to the living space on the third floor (there's a joining stairwell that leads down to the shop from there as well).

One of the rules of the guy code is that a man's problems are just that. His problems. Unless he brings it up first you are to pretend that they don't exist. Example: You know his wife is a lying cheating whore. He knows his wife is a lying cheating whore. Unless he brings up the fact that his lying cheating whore of a wife is out right now banging the pool boy then as far as you are concerned you know nothing of his problem and you continue to watch the game and drink beer. There are exceptions to this, mostly involving length of friendship, whether or not you are related, how close of relations you actually are, etc. Offering help for well known public problems are acceptable in some circumstances. An offer of a couch for a drunk friend or a ride home is also perfectly acceptable. In the example of Eddie offering Jax a place to stay is acceptable as it's a well known fact among the small group that Jax's living situation isn't great. However, just the offer should be made. Any attempts to strong-arm or otherwise coerce him into accepting the offer is going above and beyond the code. However, should Jax ask to crash there, further actions can be taken, up to, including and ceasing at 'There's the couch, bathroom is the second door on the right and here's a blanket and pillow, see ya in the morning.'

There are many other rules of the guy code that can vary by country, state, and most often circumstances. Usually these variations and exceptions exist surrounding women, picking up women, and having sex with women. For instance, regardless of circumstance every man is required to assist another man in any half-feasible attempt to have a threesome with two women. Other rules in the code include how to properly settle disputes of varying types, the appropriate times, distances and factors for calling shotgun and that you can never bitch about the brand of free beer, but may bitch about the temperature it is served at. Also, you are required to make one sincere attempt to prevent your friend from cheating on his girlfriend if he picks someone up at a bar/club. However, if he can get to his feet on his own power, stand there and look you in the eye and tell you to go fuck off then he has absolved you of any and all responsibility for his actions.

It only gets really confusing when you start having women as 'bros.' As a 'bro' you are suppose to follow guy code principles, however as she is female major exceptions do apply. Also, if you end up sleeping together, it is perfectly within the code to nail her again in the morning before the long talk about what a mistake sleeping together was.

I should note there are exceptions and differences in the code. For example, one exception to the whole threesome thing starts with "that's my" and ends "sister". Sisters for all intents and purposes create a separate code. The best advice is not to bang your friend's sister unless you're going to marry the girl, it's just simpler that way. It should be mentioned that kinship is a powerful force in the code as is the depth and closeness of the relationship. For example, I am well within my rights to bring up a problem such "your wife is a rotten cheating whore" with someone like say my brother (God, please forbid him from ever having that problem, thank you), I can also do this for my roommates as most of us have been living in the same house for several years now. I am not within my rights to unilaterally solve the problem however, unless I am in fact their Father (Fathers get a bunch of special options when dealing with sons).

The fun part? If someone breaks the code and does you a favor by fixing the problem? There's gonna be fight and every guy will know why. Because you just basically declared to the world that he couldn't handle his own shit.

Yes, there is in fact a few rules about sisters in the code. Most importantly the first such rule is: If you have known a guy for more than a day, his sister is forever off limits.
