The day is fast approaching where Red-Cloak will consider Xykon's and Tsukiko's antics to no longer be worth the hassle of putting up with them, and Tsukiko is doing her damnedest to further exacerbate the differences between those two.

I do find it interesting that he stashed the phlactory before he came into the room. He's severely outnumbered at the moment though.

It's still on his belt, just hidden on the side of him we can't see, behind his arm and by his cloak.

I'll admit that I wasn't expecting that. At least not this soon: 830. Then again, with the last update's events, something big had to happen.

Looks like he wasn't outnumbered after all. In retrospect, I guess it shouldn't have been that surprising though, considering what he does for a living. Of course, Redcloak has been feigning subservience and cowardice for a long time while actually being a sneaky and cunning bastard, making it easier to underestimate him. A goblin through and through. Meanwhile, Tsukiko hasn't been terribly clever for one with both a high Intelligence and a Wisdom too. I chalk it up to insanity.

As a side rant, I really need to do something about my sleeping/waking routine. -_-

Not really a surprise. Redcloak has sacrificed everything, from his family to his self respect, in service to this mad plan. Compared to killing his own brother, killing an annoying necrophiliac and the resulting shitstorm of fall out is a walk in the park.

I think the nastiest part was how he just stood there as the wights drained her death, listening to her beg. *shivers*

I am guessing he'll blame the loss of the phylactery on Tsukiko, perhaps even going so far as to claim the undead-loving bitch stole it to be 'close to her love'. After all, no one in the city knows the Resistance is dead.

I'm not really sure what Redcloak's plan is. Keeping the recovery of the phylactery a secret doesn't help him move Xykon on and secure the gates, which is the master plan.

He may want more time to secure the city. But regardless, we know that Xykon will be moving to Girard's gate next, thanks to the Oracle, so he can't wait too long. Or maybe he wants to have the option of destroying the phylactery, since Xykon's ultimate desire doesn't exactly jive with what the Ritual actually does.

He's controlling Xykon subtly. The lich's phylactory is a huge card to hold in your hands, and if Xykon doesn't think Redcloak has it (because really, what are the odds he's gonna let Redcloak hold onto it after that last debacle?) he's got a hell of a card in his hand.
