Livestream #14, concerning Update 10.

This concerns the issue of long-term playability, the issues with grinding (and loot tables). And the devs started all over from Unranked to get a better idea of what new players face, and their reactions thereof. And you get to see the studio manager, Sheldon, repeatedly get tossed under the bus.

Also, if you haven't already hit the "Thanks from the Lotus" Alerts today, there are two - one for a Forma blueprint (Mobile Defense, on Phobos), and the other for an Orokin Reactor (Survival, on Mars) blueprint.

- in which we discover that Rebecca's counterpart in Community Management is a redhead with a tat sleeve.
- mostly, it's watching them play in a mission while talking, and the talking gets quite interesting.

Livestream#16, showing:
- adding "marketplace" kiosk to clan Dojos
- upcoming Codex (which looks to have interesting information about enemies, drop tables, and mission types),
- Steam Achievements badges
- strong hint about visiting at least one other solar system in the future
- melee overhaul (introducing combos)
- damage type overhaul (will affect how damage is done across the game, and ability to create new elemental effects; e.g. fire+ice for explosive AoE)
- new event this week (as the developers said, it'll introduce a new boss, and put the "war" in warframe, coming 10/23 - pick a side in the conflict between grineer & corpus, and different special items become possible, depending on which side you pick)
- As usual, there is a 24 hour alert for a Reactor following a new Livestream.
- There will be a Halloween event, giving special Halloween skins for various weapons (not new weapons).
- adding proper multithreading rendering support (check your launcher for options)

(and for Havoc)
- upcoming "violent" rewriting of network code used for game that affects players who experience lag

Now, with some actual storyline and in-game movies!

Not bad, considering that Warframe was in closed beta at update 1 at about this time last year. This Livestream is mostly about nostalgia, but it has some interesting tidbits.

- new Warframe Berserker (Valkyr) will be released

- new UI for in-game management of stuff

- new 3D Lotus model

- Armor 2.0 / Damage 2.0 update (overhaul of how the damage system works in-game)

Current Elemental Combo types:

How elemental damage will work now, according to the wiki post, uses a primary and a secondary damage type to create an effect. The first elemental mod in the weapon becomes the primary elemental type, with the next one then modifying it.

Current List: (primary + secondary = effect)
Fire + Cold = Blast (causes stun effect)
Fire + Toxin = Gas (creates AoE poison cloud where struck)
Fire + Electricity = Radiation (confuses affected enemies, reducing their accuracy)

Cold + Electric = Magnetic (causes extra damage against shields)
Cold + Toxin = Viral (causes DoT poison & slow against affected enemy)

Electric + Toxin = Corrosion (causes extra damage against armor)

Additionally, all types of damage now have a proc chance - including when used on you.

Impact: Knockback
Puncture: Weakened (reduced damage output)
Slash: Bleed (health reduced over time, healing blocked)
Fire: Ignited (fire damage over time)
Freeze: Slowdown
Electrical: Chain Electricity Damage
Poison: Poison DoT to health

A good overview of the Damage 2.0 system in Warframe now.

In short:
- There are now three base damage types:
. puncture (1.5x damage to Armor and Robotics, half damage against Infested)
. slashing (1.5x damage to Flesh and Infested, half damage Robotics)
. impact (1.5x damage to Shields and Robotics, half damage against Infested)

- Most weapons do a combination of the three basic types of damage, and combine their values for the total damage value.

- There are now four base elemental damage types:
. Cold (1.5x to Shields, half damage against armor)
. Electric (1.5x to Robotics, 75% damage to Infested)
. Heat (1.75x damage to Flesh, 1.5x damage to Infested)
. Toxic (1.5x damage to Flesh, half damage to Robotics)

- And now, there are six "combination" elemental types, which are created using the gun's damage type (only if elemental base, such as Ignis & Ogris for Heat, Synapse & Lecta for Electricity, and Torid & Acrid for Toxic), and elemental damage mods equipped. So as two examples, simply equipping a cold damage mod on the Ignis will make it's base damage type into Blast (because the Ignis' base damage type is Heat, which combines with Cold to make Blast) instead of Heat, but if you add an Electric Mod to the mix as well, the Ignis will then do Heat damage with a Magnetic damage bonus.

Another example would be equipping a toxic damage and an electric damage mod on the Flux Rifle, which would add a Corrosive damage bonus. Combinations are listed here:
. Blast (Heat + Cold: 1.25x damage to Armor and Flesh)
. Corrosive (Electric + Toxin: 1.75x damage to Armor, 1.5x damage to Robotics)
. Gas (Heat + Toxin: 1.25x damage to Armor and Flesh, half damage to Robotics)
. Magnetic (Cold + Electric: 1.75x damage to Shields, 1.5x damage to Robotics, 75% damage to Flesh)
. Radiation (Heat + Electric: 1.10x damage to Flesh, 1.5x damage to Robotics)
. Viral (Cold + Toxin: 2x damage to Flesh, half damage to Robotics)

An excellent dissertation on how each Warframe's abilities have changed post-u11, along with repeated testing, is located here.

For CynCat & Hotfoot - to answer the Rhino's Roar + the Banshee's Sonar ability combination, here's how it works out in practice now:
I'm pretty sure the damage bonuses from Sonar and Roar stack multiplicatively. Roar will increase your standard damage output by 1.5x. If you shoot a highlighted weak spot, the damage dealt at that spot is increased by 5x. So effectively, you'll be dealing 7.5x standard damage if you shoot a weak spot with Roar in effect. This damage is further increased if the weak spot happens to be a special body part, or if your weapon happens to crit (not to mention power strength mods, and powers like Molecular Prime).

The Devs posted about the Damage 2.0 nonsense this morning. Since the whole Damage 2.0 thing was discussed and complained about last night, especially considering the drastic resistance/vulnerability chart changes, I was glad to see a quick response:
DE Steve wrote:Damage Resistance OMGWTFBBQ:
The elemental combinations created more damage types which demanded more attention to enemy type differentiation. Enter Excel. Enter Madness.
I am in the process of greatly reducing the complexity of the resistance changes. My plan is to 'increase the good' vs. 'decrease the bad'. For most enemies there will be 3 bonuses and 1 resistance. The resistance amount will be cut by 1/3rd.
Better. We'll see how it works out in practice.

Update 11.5 Released, with event THE CICERO CRISIS:
Warframe Event Notes wrote:Join your fellow Tenno in Warframe’s latest event: The Cicero Crisis!

The Forests of Earth have evolved. Centuries of manipulation by the Orokin have created breeds of super plants that grow tougher and faster than anything seen before. Until now the Grineer have been unable to conquer these unruly forests, but Councilor Vay Hek plans to use his Cicero Toxin to clear the land and make way for Grineer settlements.

Visit Earth and sabotage Councilor Vay Hek's plans!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO DO
- Visit and Select the unique Mission located on Earth!
- Be sure to equip your Codex Scanner! Scan plants on Earth to collect necessary samples and data of mysterious plants!
- Collecting the correct number of plant scans will unlock the permanent use of a Foundry Blueprint that can be used to create one of a variety of anti-toxins.
- Equip and carry one of the anti-toxins into a mission and load it into the Cicero Toxin injectors that you must find in the mission.
- Work solo or with a team. Each player can take a different anti-toxin into the mission to create a combination of anti-toxins. Combining anti-toxins will make them last longer and increase your score.
- These Forest missions will have dynamic Day and Night settings! Every six hours, Day will change to Night, and Night to Day as the cycle goes on! New plants will appear throughout the Day and Night, so be sure to explore at different times!

EVENT START AND END TIME
The Cicero Crisis is on now and will end on Monday, January 6 at 12 PM EST.

SCORING
Upon completing each mission, all Tenno in your Squad will receive the same point score. This score is determined by the rarity of anti-toxins used in the mission:
Common anti-toxin = 10 points
Uncommon anti-toxin = 15 points
Rare anti-toxin = 25 points

To achieve a 100 point score, all four Tenno in your Squad must bring a Rare anti-toxin worth 25 points each, and successfully defend the Cicero Toxin injector.

Solo and Squad Scoring – Aim for your personal best! Your best mission score will be saved (max 100).
Clan Scoring - Clan scores will accumulate to determine Clan winners at the end of the event.

REWARDS
- Score 10 points and you will receive an Event Badge.
- Score 50 points and you will receive a set of 4x Dual Stat Mods (Status chance + Toxic Damage).
- Score 100 points and you will earn a set of Twin Wraith Vipers!
- A Gold, Silver and Bronze Clan Statue will be distributed to the top three Clans in each Clan Tier.

Go forth with your Codex Scanner, search out the ingredients needed and neutralize the Cicero Toxin!
Also note that Counselor Vay Hek now drops parts for the Oberon warframe, not Trinity any longer. Trinity parts will now drop from the Wonder Twins on Phobos.

FYI - the Lapis Antitoxin you get with the bundle is evidently NOT the best antitoxin.

The Lapis Antitoxin is the one that will give each player 25 points for completing a mission (to a maximum of 100 points total for 4 players, enough to satisfy the event).

The best one is the Vermilion Antitoxin, which gives a flat 100 points per player - purchase that one from the Market for 1500 credits if you want to be very sure to get 100 points for completing the mission. Be warned though that it takes 4 Day Jadeleaf extracts, 4 Night Jadeleaf extracts, 4 Day Dragonlily extracts, and 4 Night Dragonlily extracts to craft.

Quick note - the Detron is confirmed as being available again, but it drops only from the Harvester, which is basically Alad V's Zanuka on patrol. The Harvester only attacks you if you support the Grineer in Invasion missions against the Corpus, and it will jump you mid-mission, similar to the Stalker.

So in short, run the Invasion missions on the side of the Grineer against the Corpus, and soon enough you'll get a nastygram from Alad V., telling you that you've volunteered to show how bad of a robot designer he is. You'll likely have to do this multiple times to get the Detron blueprint, the Barrel, and the Receiver.

The Detron itself is a shotgun sidearm, with no damage falloff at range. It deals Radiation damage base, which makes it better against Grineer than the other two factions without using Forma to change some polarities.

Livestream #21:

TL;DW:

-Gestures/Emotes will be coming, But not until Melee 2.0 is done. (Things like subtle nods, Shake head, Bowing, Kneeling.) They are deciding what to put in and what not to at the moment.

-Thinking up new Enemy ideas.

-#2014YearOfThe4thFaction. They commented about how they have concept art for the new faction, And how they'd most likely have their own planet instead of revamping an existing one for them. They are going to be the least humanoid of all the factions, So they said. besides that they were pretty secretive about this.

-Grineer Shipyard Renders and art shown.

-U12 Will not contain melee 2.0 As it is taking a lot longer then they thought.

-Stealth Rework, Or as Geoff Jokingly said "Stealth 1.0." Is still planned, But it's going to be a very huge and time sink like thing to do, Much like Melee 2.0. So they are trying to figure out when is a good time to start on that. Basically weighing where it goes in terms of importance compared to other reworks.

-Hawkfame/Windframe render shown. Almost pretty much done.

-Hyena Rework will come /before/ Hek does. Geoff actually was not suppose to mention this. Let it slip out as he didn't know he wasn't suppose to tell.

-Red Scarf shown along the other Syandanas. It was never released, was not released as they ran into fitting issues and Technical issues with it. They might make another run at it. But in general, More Syandanas are coming.

-Looking at adding more Armor, Not just helmet customizations. Mynki claimed they'll be working on that soon.

-With Melee 2.0, Enemies will be using some nifty combos and such too as we do. So it's making them think of a lot more Melee enemies.

-Rhino or Loki Confirmed as next Prime. "90% Loki. Or 90% Rhino." To quote Mynki.

-They are still working on Cloth Physics for Frost And others who need it. So don't worry.

-They had worked on different animation sets for different body builds and genders. (Like, Mag would do things differently then Saryn or Rhino because of her Height and Body.) But didn't get around finishing it. They plan on working on it more after Melee.2.0.

-Will be revisiting/adding on Parkour, But not until Melee 2.0 is done for sure.

-Oberon's first alternate helmet shown.

Ok, I looked through the Warframes, and I have to say they're rather clever, even as they follow the traditional battle roles. The "elemental" frames all suck balls for armor, however.

So, new Oxium event challenge: Kill 60 Oxium Ospreys. They are a rare enemy spawn on pretty much any Corpus level - I've been going to the E Gate survival mission on Venus so far.

EDIT: Kappa, in Sedna, shows quite a few per run. You might have better luck there.

Followup to the Oxium event: two runs of Kappa, in Sedna, netted me 26 Oxium Osprey kills each, which was enough to clear the event.

Clearing the event will give you the Aviator mod (reduces damage while airborne; likely to be used with the new frame being released soon), and a 3 day Affinity booster, which activates immediately.
