Aboard the Phoenix, the officers watch with concern as the Darth Kreshna is kneeling and screaming on the floor, his body is covered by some fiery aura. Inside his head, the Sith Inquisitor hears a booming, peculiar, unearthly voice.

YOU ARE NOTHING BUT MY HOST.

YOU ARE NOTHING BUT THE MANIFESTATION OF MYSELF IN THIS CORPOREAL DIMENSION.

OTHERS BEFORE YOU HAD FALLEN, BUT YOU SHALL PREVAIL.

YOU ARE THE STRONGEST.

I AM YOU, YOU ARE ME. WE ARE ONE.

Aboard Avenger II, Captain Ron McKenzie watches in horror as the Executor-Command Ship Phoenix is enveloped by a gigantic, vaguely bird-shaped fiery aura.

Back at the starbase...

A'millian ships start limping in. They lost about half the fleet entirely, and many of the ships that survived are in no condition to fight.

Only about 110 starships can still do battle.

Casuality reports start coming in from the ships. About 80,000 men are dead, and about 40,000 wonded. A problem with space battles, many people who would have survived wounded on the ground are killed by the vacuum of space.

When Lord Adam read these results, a great greif struck him. So many good people dead so far away from home. But he had to concern himself with what he had, not what he lost.

It was all to clear to him that he could not win in a conventional military action without major reenforcements from A'millin Prime. He would have to start fighting from the sides, picking off enemy ships that were isolated from the fleet. The thought that he was forced to do this made him rather sick. He is the most powerful person in the known universe, but his power was elsewhere.

Though he knew he was hurting, he could not show this to his men nor his allys, and certainly not his enemy. He has to give another fleetwide address soon for morale, but he was unsure what to say...

*Ra meets with Darth Kreshna and Walper on the DS Overbridge as another asteroid is annihilated by the station's vengeful beam.*

Once this operation is over, I want all our forces to gather over the Fifth planet. There, we will prepare to make our final assault on the enemy.

With over three quarters of the Asteroid Belt now destroyed, we should use these resources to rebuild and reinforce our fleets.

Indeed, I am doubling ship construction. Nonetheless. My army is ready. Our advance on the enemy world should begin ASAP.

Kreshna doesn't really concentrate on the debriefing as his head is still in pain. He noticeably winces, and somehow he feels his eyes are still radiating those unholy fire.

He still remembers the burn abroad the Phoenix. Weird. The fiery aura did not damage his flagship, although engulfing it. He still remember those booming voices. And he shudders. His hand is shaking as he pours more Vodka to his glass.

However, he still manages to turns to Lord Walper, "our spies discovered that this... Lord Detritus can create anything out of rock. Does the Borg have discovered the solution?"

He sips his drink, still trying hard to concentrate on Lord Walper's answer.

There is a presence inside Darth Kreshna. Unlike anything even I have seen. It is as if a dark spirit is inside him.

Sounds an awful lot like what Anubis did to take physical form.

It is not him. Something else. I advise caution.

Wise advice in any situation.

Darth Kreshna doesn't wait for Lord Walper's reply as the burn strikes himself again, although this time as not as bad as before. He moans slightly, holding his head, then quickly rushes himself out of the briefing room. The Vodka bottle falls to the floor and crashes.

Admiral Hauser frowns, then turns to Lord Walper, "my apologize, Sir, but it seems Lord Kreshna is not in condition to attend the meeting. I'm afraid we should continue without him. However, the Empire is highly interested in the Borg's solution regarding to this Trollish Imperium menace."

At our starbase...

The look of the battered fleet returning home after the defeat in the asteroid belt was discouraging to all. While these men were battle hardened from the war in their home galaxy, they were still human and humans never quite get used to losing friends.

Ships all dock at the orbiting repair facility, but not all the battered ships could be repaired at once. This base that not so long ago was full of proud, confident forces was now hurting, recovering from the bitter defeat. Throughout the medical facilites on hte planet, the doctors tried to help who they could, but they were just not equipped for this many people at once. Hopefully, they would soon be able to transfer the wonded back through the jump gate to the core worlds where they could be cared for.

Lord Adam's once powerful Warrior class starship had its front end torn clean off during the battle with the Borg. If they had the resources here, they would decommission this ship and replace it. But they don't have any ships to spare in this galaxy, especially not now since they lost so many. Repair crews will try to patch up the front end enough so it can fly safely again.

"120,000 casualities..."

The Lord thought to himself. Not often they lose that many people in one day, even after a battle back home. However, he thought, with a population of tens of trillions in his empire that 120,000 wasn't really that many. The sad truth is it really isn't much, but he always hated thinking like that. And here, he may not be able to get more men from back home, so it may be alot, even purely mathematically. And the ships. Over 300 disabled or destroyed. That was a big hit. Replacing those ships was near impossible in this galaxy. They simply didn't have the industrial infrastructure established here.

But he had to think about the good, not the loses. But he had a hard time doing this himself. He needed his old friend to help him. Little did the public know how much his sanity rested in the Lady. Without her..... he couldn't think about that. He had known her for 1700 years, and they have always been the best of close friends. They served together in many conflicts, and they have always stood side by side. When Adam was offered the throne, he made sure that she was with him. Officially, he is absolute ruler, but she as such power over him that she and he are truely partners.

He needed her strength. Soon, when the medical transport leaves for A'millian Prime, he would go to see her, and his joint chiefs. She would know what to do. She always does.

"The Phoenix Entity is the sum and substance of all that lives. ItÂ’s cosmic energy not only represents all current life, but also future generations. To provide itself with consciousness, the Entity unknowingly tapped into that future life-force, killing entire generations before they were even born."

"But why, the hunger? The thirst?."

"To provide itself with consciousness, the Entity unknowingly tapped into that future life-force, killing entire generations before they were even born."

"But still, why?"

"To provide itself with consciousness."

"But the hunger is unecessary."

"But it is now."

"But why, feeding upon the dead instead of the unborn?"

"The Jedi is the one with the Force. It is their ally. The Sith, on the other hand, withdraws from the Force. At some point it has to be paid back."

"You tell nothing I haven't already known before."

"When you drink salt water, would it quench your thirst? "

Darth Kreshna wakes up from his trance. He can barely recollect what echoed in his dream-state.

Whenever he tries to concentrate with the Dark Side, he feels something alien. It is something new. Something different. As a gestalt of two different things altogether. Yet they blend smoothly.

Suddenly he senses something else. Life force. Energy. Nourishment. 958,000,000 life forces.

===============================================

The System Lord Ra and Lord Walper are still in the Death Star meeting room as Darth Kreshna enters. They are somehow surprised. The Sith Inquisitor's eyes have changed. They are completely red without visible irises, and they are radiating a fiery aura. But more surprising is the way Kreshna speaks. Alongside his original voice, there is another, an accompanying echo speaks with him; peculiar, deep, alien, throaty, and booming.

"My friends, the Daleks just entered the fray. It's time to prepare our forces."

This time, even the indifferent, self-confident Lord Walper starts wondering what's going on.

*Ra paces around the room as Galadriel stands serenely, pondering the situation.*

The Daleks are arrogant.

Sound familiar?

Galadriel, please. I am in deep thought. Now, what do we know about these things and their forces?

Very little at the moment. However, I have an idea.

One that doesn't involve a cube going forth on a suicide mission, I would hope.

Yes. You will remember that virus Ra and myself devised. Just wait and see, wise Elf.

At the A'millian starbase

Dalek ships are now mixed in with surving A'millian ships and automatic defenses protecting the base. Thus far the Daleks are the least hurt in this war, losing only a few warriors in battle so far, 2 of which were assigned to Lord Adam, who died fighting the Borg.

An A'millian medical ship goes back through our jump gate back to A'millian Prime. Aboard it, Lord Adam rides with about 6000 wounded men who will get the best medical care in the known universe.

Upon arriving, Lord Adam departs for the royal castle. Shortly, he arrives there and meets the Lady. He smiles upon seeing her and walks with her back inside the castle. On the walk, he informs her of the situation.

"I see."

Her beautiful betrayed nothing of her true feelings when there were other people around.

"And there is a great power over there. I don't know much about it yet, though."

"I see."

Then they arrived at the briefing room where the admirals were waiting. All the officers rise to their feet when the Lord and Lady enter. They sit, Lord Adam at the head and the Lady close to his right side. Then the other officers sat back down.

"Admirals, I trust you have read the reports?"

"Of course, sir. But I'm afraid that there is not much we can do. You will need more ships, and all our ships are busy with the ENF forces in our galaxy."

The Destructionator mainframe speaks up.

"I am afraid I am out of business for some time. I lost many ships and androids to those Borg."

"My apologies, Destructionator, for the loss of your forces. But the rest of you guys have nothing for me."

"Not quite sir. Under the instruction of the Lady, we have constructed a new star vehicle that may be able to help you. We also have 4 new starships and replacement crews for 5 of your ships."

Lord Adam looks at the Lady, and she lets slip a small smile.

"Its not much, but some is better than none. Explain this new ship."

"There is nothing else the admirals can do that they haven't done. Gentlemen, have the teams give the bad news to the families to the men who dies in battle. Dismissed."

The officers all stand up and leave. This meeting accomplished little. The special teams would have to tell the families... a job that is never a happy one, but something that happens every day in the empire. Lord Adam could have known that he got 4 new ships and the teams would do their their normal jobs without a meeting of the senior staff. The Lord and Lady then stand.

"Come with me. You'll like this."

They go back to the Lord's office and spend a momnt gazing out at the sunset over the water in the bay. A beautiful sight indeed. While standing there, they talk.

"I have been watching the telemetry from here of the battles. I have determined that you you could use a full battleship wih power closer to those Empire ships."

"Indeed. Our ships are doing alright against them, but it could be better. But we don't have anything to fight them one on one."

"That was true, until I built one."

She smiles.

"Why, you old war daggit! You did this in this short time!"

"I command the resources of the empire. I can do anything! The Lady's Pride is now our finest battleship. I put in our best forward cannons. It uses the ships 700 metre length to accelerate a single blast that has the energy about equal to full barrages from 8 of our other ships. It also has point defenses along its side to destroy enemy fighters, but its anti capship capabilities are limited to its front side."

"Most impressive, but what did you have to trade off?"

"Her speed. She is limited to only warp speed. No hyperdrive, and no jump drive. Her sublight acceleration leaves something to be desired, too, but so do the enemy Star Destroyers. She should be a match for them."

"And with our other ships to escort her, she should be just fine. Also, our high warp can cross the distance needed for that theatre in hours anyways."

"Indeed, and you still have other ships for speed."

"You always have a way of making my day, old friend."

"I know."

"But it is only this one ship?"

"Correct. The Lady's Pride and 4 starships pulled off the 3rd fleet will be joining you on your return. I would love to send more to ensure your victory, but the ENF won't let me do that."

"Aye. Nevertheless, wile one ship will be nice, it won't do as much against the enemy as it will boosting the men's morale."

"I think the only thing that would boost it more is me myself joining you with a quadrent fleet."

"You with 12,000 ships! Now that would be something to fear!"

They laughed for the first time since Lord Adam first left for this new 9 planet system.

After a moment, Lord Adam looks at her.

"Oh, how I wish you were coming."

"And how I wish I was... especially with that quadrent fleet."

"I'd better get back. The men will need me there."

"Come back again soon."

"I will."

The Lady looks at him, and he looks at her. He bows his head then heads off for the starport, and his ne ship, The Lady's Pride.

At the airlock of The Lady's Pride...

Lord Adam steps aboard. He had to take a shuttle because transporters were one of the things that the Lady removed to increase the weapon and shield power. In the airlock, an engineering team is lined up. These people were on the Lady's team who designed this vessel in such a short time. While the Lady did much of the actual work herself, she did have a big staff to finish this in acceptable time.

Standing at the end of the line was a humanoid with reddish skin and flaps above his hands. This man was the chief engineer, who designed most the new weapons system with some assistance from the Lady.

"Welcome aboard, sir. It is an honour to have you aboard our new ship."

"Excellent work, all of you. This main weapon is quite impressive."

"Thank you sir, but I couldn't have made it happen without the Lady and my staff."

"I understand from the reports that it was your new ideas that pushed along this new devlopment."

"I mearly stood on the sholders of giants. Most the technology we had already. My ideas were just a new way of implemeting it. And, again, without the staff and the Lady it would have always been an idea."

"I commend your modesty, commander."

"Thank you, sir. We can be departing as soon as you give the word."

"The word is given. Warp speed."

"With pleasure, sir! Alright guys, let's get to work!"

The engineers all went back to their posts in the engine room as Lord Adam headed off for the bridge.

In a few seconds, The Lady's Pride and the other four ships flanking her went to warp. They would arive at the jump gate soon.

On the way to the bridge, Lord Adam sees one of the main weapon's power increasing stations.

Impressive design indeed.

The ninth planet of the Solar System....

While the Empire and its allies are preparing themselves to face Daleks offensive, a single Star Destroyer is performing a secret mission by the order of Darth Kreshna himself. Even Admiral Hauser is not aware about this one particular mission.

The mission objective itself seems worthless when considered from military standpoint. The Captain is ordered to fire at several spots on the planet, which co-ordinates are given out precisely by Darth Kreshna himself. This is, after all, a surgical strike instead of a fully powered BDZ.

The Captain does not understand why they should waste Tibanna gasses on this barren, empty, and worthless planet. Darth Kreshna has been acting stranger lately. There is a rumor that he has been 'possessed' by some unknown entity, but the Captain is not a superstitious person; he just follows his orders.

But as he executes the mission, the Captain feels a peculiar sensation crawling through his spine. This is something beyond his comprehension; something he cannot explain based on his views as a rational person.

Because, as the turbolaser bolts hit the specified location on the planet, the Star Destroyer Captain was sure he is hearing something. Something that directly goes into his head.

A dying scream.

Have you withdrawn all vessals from the fray Admrial?

"Yes My lord.. we have lost many ships this day, too many"

"They shall be replaced, and so will their crews. it's a shame I've had to transfer me and my ships to your flet, but the Astroid belt has been vilolated, thankfully it had served its purpose"

"It has My Lord?"

"Yes, with our new factory ships, we can make astroid belts wherever we want, and whenever we want"

"Is that how you plan to make all of those ships?"

Indeed Admiral, from what I hear, the Daleks are on the move, they should give some time while we prepare ourselves for the next phase of this war"

"Sire, i would like to show you something our spy sent us while they were aboard the Goa'uld mothership.."
"Why hello! Could I intrest you in some giant bonsai trees?"

Hast thou noticed the increasingly peculiar behavior of Lord Kreshna?

*Ra sits on his throne aboard the mothership, his head resting on his fist.*

Yes. I did not think much of his behavior at first. Deepened voice... glowing eyes...

Because they are both attributes you share. I must confess I had gotten used to your... idiosyncracies... as of late. However, his behavior has both myself and your Borg ally concerned. I sense great torment within Lord Kreshna. But I also sense something else. A great, consuming entity within him. It is of great power, but thusfar... I cannot determine what its design is. For the moment, it is only doing damage to Kreshna personally, not to his surroundings.

That may change.

*Galadriel nods, and walks closer.*

Lord Elrond has not made any conclusions that I have not, save one. Eldar magic is not adequate to remove it. It is my advice that we should consult an Istari wizard. Only one of them has the power to undo this possession.

But from your own documents, the only Istari left is Saruman, imprisoned in the Isengard dungeon. And he is to never be released.

There is another. But I will have to return to Valinor to seek his aid.

With the Daleks threatening this system, and Destructionator regrouping, we may not have that option.

If we are to save your friend's life, then you must find the chance.

*Ra nods understandingly, and steps away to consult his officers.*

*Meanwhile, Galadriel then stares out the window. A single point of light gets her attention.*

*In her mind flashes a vision of a Star Destroyer bombarding the ninth planet. Strange screams torture the Captain's mind.*

*Then, in her mind, flashes another vision. A huge object bearing down on the Death Star.*

RELEASE KRESHNA TO US!

And the ancient ones shall strike at the heart of fire...

*Galadriel then walks swiftly to find Ra.*

"My Lord.. I was under the impression we were to keep our activities to this sector?"

"You are correct Admiral, why do you ask?"

"It seems Sir, that a Destroyer of Lord Kreshna's flet has departed this sector and is heading on an outbound trejectory before we lost sight of it"

"Intresting.. I wonder why the Imperials break the Rules Of War.. maybe they are giving up.. hah, How very unlikley"

"Yes Milord, shall i send a scout after them?"

No, No.. If anything happens, We shall find out when it starts to smell"

"Of course Milord"

"Darth Kreshna ordered WHAT?"

Admiral Hauser is furious. He looked at the reports. Almost a dozen Star Destroyers are being sent through various locations without his knowledge, let alone his approval.

"Yes Sir. In fact, one of those Eclipses are being sent back to our home galaxy right now. The destination is somewhere among the Core Worlds." the Lieutenant finishes his report.

"Great!" the Admiral spats, "just when we are facing Daleks invasion.... I have to settle this!"

He hurries his way to the Death Star's bar, the place when Kreshna always hangs around. His guess is correct; he finds the Sith Inquisitor sitting alone in the corner. The bar is already empty.

"Milord," Hauser tries to stiffle his anger, "we are missing over ten Star Destroyers, plus one Eclipse."

Kreshna looks up from his glass, then speaks with disinterest, "really?"

Hauser continues, "with all respect, milord, you took those ships without telling us about it. Ships that were constructed to protect the Empire, not to run errands. Especially not when we are facing Daleks invasion!"

"The ships are mine to do with as I please," Kreshna's tone becomes darker.

"Then why bother with us?" Hauser demands defiantly. "What's the point of a military that is not properly organized to defend the Empire because our ships are squandered by inflated ego?"

If Hauser regrets his decision, it is way too late now, as Darth Kreshna's eyes turn red again, radiating the fiery aura. Hauser is screaming in pain when his life force is being sucked out as aura tendrils reach his physical form. Meanwhile, the Sith Inquisitor answers with gestalt, alien, echoing voice again.

"because, puny human, I shall never let the Ancients stop me!"

Yet in last moment Kreshna releases the Admiral. His eyes become normal again as well as his voice as he speaks, "leave me alone, Admiral".

Admiral Hauser is shaking, trying to calm his breath while preserving his dignity, then he turns his heels and makes his way out of the bar as fast as possible.

*In the depths of space, an Imperial Star Destroyer is on patrol. Suddenly, a large, dark vessel appears. The larger vessel attacks, eventually bringing down the starship's shields. It then explodes in a massive plume of hypermatter-fueled fire. The Star Destroyer reduced to space debris, the dark ship jumps away.*

*Ra was busy being pampered and put into fine garments, as usual. Galadriel walks up, a look of concern drenching her face.*

Something important is on your mind? You normally don't disturb me in here.

I foresaw something. A powerful force demanding the surrender of Darth Kreshna. They had but one design. To capture the being that has taken posession of his body. I fear they will not stop until that goal is complete.

"My Lord, there have been some intresting developments on the Deathstar"

"What do you mean,"intresting" ?"

"Our Spy on there, was having some R&R in the Bar, when an Admiral charged in accusing the Dark Lord of being an egotistical maniac, who was sending off ships willy nilly, apprently the Dark lord almost killed him"

"Intresting.. dissent amongst the ranks over there.. Was there any reason or it?"

"Apprently, the Dark Lord, said something about "Ancients" though we have no idea who they may be"

"Hmm, if your spy has any more information, be sure totell me"

"Of course Milord"

Admiral Hauser doesn't have time to calm himself when he's back at his office, as an intelligence officer reports in urgent insistence.

"Sir, you better see this recording!"

Hauser watches the recorded battle as an Imperial Star Destroyer is being bombarded by a large, dark vessel. What strikes him odd is that the Imperial ship did not return fire at all. Eventually, the Star Destroyer exploded.

"What the...."

"The dark ship is still unidentified, Sir, but the worse is our ship did not return fire at all. It just basically sat there and let itself being pounded to death."

Hauser contemplates, "some sort of control-disabling weapon? Computer virus, maybe?"

"Now here is the black box recording of the Star Destroyer's bridge", the intelligence officer punches several buttons. Now the display shows the interior of the Star Destroyer amidst the 'battle'.

Hauser's jaw drops as he watch the recording. Despite the ship is rocked with bombardment, the bridge crews were just staying still, as if nothing happened. Then it becomes clear that the crews were all frozen in their place; transfixed, as if being hypnothyzed or something.

The Admiral salivates, the comes to a conclusion he still tries to deny. "Psychic weapon!" he mutters in horror.

The intelligence officer nods, "that's the best explanation, Sir. All black box recordings shows absolutely nothing wrong with the weapon or the control system of the ship. The crew condition, on the other hand, tells us something. Not to mention they appeard to be docile, but their recorded vital signs supports the 'psychic weapon theory as well."

The officer shows him several line graphs. Admiral Hauser is not a doctor but the graphs clearly show that they're all abnormally stable.

Now the Admiral feels really desperate; an alien with powerul psychic ability. What can really save them is a Sith Lord.

Alas, the only one they have is going insane.

*A crewman dashes onto the Mothership's bridge.*

My lord, we've gotten new comm traffic from the frontier. The Daleks have arrived in-system.

Damn. It appears our mystery must be put on hold for now. Deploy the fleet in a defensive formation along Perimeter 17. I know they are thirsting for retaliation...

I will continue to study this matter.

Very well.

*Countless Ha'taks move into formation in extreme orbit of the fifth planet. Deep in space, a large fleet of Dalek vessels move deeper into the system.*

It appears the Daleks are attempting to reinforce the Troll forces. However...

The Imperial fleet stands between them and the Trolls.

*Ra then ponders whether to move to the Imperials' aid, or to stay put. If he dedicates too many forces to the defense, the Daleks would have free reign to attack the fifth planet. But too few would be worse than no help at all.*

We await your orders, m'lord.

Admiral, prepare to withdraw the fleet, the Daleks will be able to move more freely without having us to defend."

"Of course Milord, where shall we go?"

Jump to a random location, but make sure it is out of range of any other fleets, we shall use our factory ships to make.. brand new astroids belts."

The Admiral gaped at his master

"WHOLE Astroid belts?"

Indeed, we saw how useful one was, now lets see how well twenty will do, Jump on my mark."

"Yes Sir!"

JUMP!

*the Trollish Fleet jumps to L-space, readying their strengh for the next battle*

*As the Daleks move closer in the system, a dark ship swoops in, and attacks. Several Dalek vessels are destroyed in this sudden attack. Despite brutal return fire, the dark vessel escapes into hyperspace. In total, ninteen ships are lost in this one skirmish. The Dalek commander is furious.*

*At nearly the same time, another dark ship moves in and attacks the Goa'uld fleet, destroying several Ha'taks in its one pass. Despite heavy retaliatory fire, this ship also escapes.*

M'lord, several ships have just been lost in sector 918. They reported seeing a gray vessel attack, and jump away. It carried extraordinary firepower.

Could the ship be identified?

We're still working on it, sir.

It could have been a Dalek advance attack.

The firepower seems a bit high for even Daleks. The ships were destroyed...

In just one salvo, m'lady

I have my doubts.

As do I. I will heed your advice for now. But-

Incoming hyperspace signatures. It's a small Dalek squadron.

Goa'uld fools. You have attacked us without provocation. Now you will be exterminated.

I didn't attack you.

We will not listen to your lies.

*And just that suddenly, the Goa'uld were drawn back into war.*

"My Lord Detritus!"

"Yes Admiral? what makes you so excited?"

"The Daleks Sir! They're invading the enemy sector! already we have reports of huge losses to the Goa'uld fleet!"

Excellent.. If all goes to plan, the Goa'uld will soon have to retreat, otherwise they will be exterminated.."

"Indeed My lord, i think this may occur very soon"

Until then, we have more pressing matters to deal with, how much of the new astroid belt is complete?"

"Almost forty five percent Sir."

Good, wake me up when it's is complete"

"Aye Aye Sir"
