Yup. A starfighter combat!

See, we have a reasonable premise here. The Goa'ulds are launching their naquada-stuffed Death Gliders (and bombers) in a suicide mission against Guardian ships.

Naturally, the Guardians should try to stop them (they would be stupid to not doing so), but stopping starfighters should be done by starfighters as well. I imagine the Guardians have some sort of organic-looking fighters, which is actually special-bred of Shog-Oths. The Shog-Oths are capable to morph, remember? So why can't there be 'specialist' Shog-Oths that morph into starfighters? Like the Zergs. Whaddya' think, Allen?

You know, the scene reminds me of Wing Commander: Prophecy. Organic-looking fighters, anyone?

Okay... I think we should plan some more.

A: How are we going to end this battle, and when?

B: Where to after that?

Answering A for my part: No clue. But I think it should end soon, with the Guardians finally giving up on A'millian Prime, and slinking back to the holes they came out of.

For B: We should definitely get back to adventuring. The potential for it is still immense, after all. In addition, I want to introduce my little starship for the allies, and add some more cool elements I've been musing.

For example, what about going beyond Shog-oths for the Guardians, and adding illithids? They're an entire army of people with Cthulhu-heads, and would fit in quite nicely with the Guardians' portrayal as ancient and strange. In fact, the archmage might use them as agents, or even personal bodyguards. Of course, they couldn't have too many of them, because they are extremely powerful.

And furthermore, we might could add some more races, both allied and neutral. Fuck, how about having the Aurora running into some Drow (how badass would it be to add Viconia to the Allied side?), or maybe the 40K Eldar? How about a cult dedicated to the Guardians' worship, a la Cthulhu (Who will be eaten first?)?

We need to get back to some of the adventure. Remember Dathomir? I fucking loved that part of it. A mysterious being to encounter, new possibilities and mysteries, that's what made this STGOD fun to play, rather than the Neverending Battle we've been stuck in for the last... four months.

Like Kresh and others have pointed out time and time again, this STGOD has lots of potential and possibilities. It's been slow because we're in the middle of a very... meh situation. Let's spice things back up!

I'm ba-a-a-ck. Well, it's been quite a long holiday.

PS: Jon, see Darth Kreshna's speech on IC thread. Yes, Aurora should be fast and powerful for its size, but remember we still have the industrial constraint. I don't think we can produce too many Auroras even with our combined industrial capacity. Not to mention that Sandra Kuat is still facing the charges (although she used her financial power and bribery to stall the charges).

I'm not saying that you (or Amiwen, or everyone else, for that matter) should instantly agree to my strategy of guerilla warfare. In fact, like in real world, the leaders often bang their head with each other (not to mention those indecisive meetings and conferences). You may have better things in mind, and I still wonder the strategy proposed by the Trolls.

In fact, Darth Kreshna has been very concerned because, unlike other leaders, he simply can not afford losing too many ships. Remember he's no longer with the Empire, and doesn't have the industrial capacity. Every single ship is valuable to him and the Army of Lights. Other leaders, on the other hand, can afford losing much more ships, but their ships are weak compared to Imperial standards. So it's not an easy situation.

Actually, I happen to agree with the Aurora situation. I wanted the Aurora herself to the the only example to show up for quite some time (think of how the Valiant was the only other Defiant-class ship to show up on DS9, or the low number of Whitestars on B5) , and then have new ships built at an extremely slow pace. Once you see the sheer level of technological cooperation going into this ship, it becomes self-evident how difficult the ship will be to fabricate.

Image

I'll save the general gist of her abilities for the appropriate IC post, but basically, she's got the best of the best from everyone's toybox.

On the other points, I agree fully.

And welcome back, Kresh.

Great idea! I was going to have the Fearless end up with the Alliance anyway. What better way to do it?

Oh, and the Discovery-class is the A'millian Nebula. What would the Galaxy-equivalent be?

OK folks, I am going to bing in some Bermaga favourites here.

Which one shall it be:

1) The Mirror universe.

2) Time travel.

3) Subspace aliens.

4) The sensors on the ship really need cleaning and recalibration, it was nothing more than a subsace disturbance ot the week.

Right. Now I've finally given the first mention of Aurora, and got us set up for our next adventure.

There is no Stargate on the planet; the Ancients, yes, the Ancients, didn't touch it. I'm planning some wierd shit for this one.

I'd like to remind everybody that Galadriel still doesn't know that the information she telephatically extracted from Khardem is fake. OOC, we knew the info is fake because we read Allen's post, but IC, our characters don't know that.

I wonder though... what kind of trap has been prepared by the Archmagus for the heroes of the Army of Lights...

Bah. I posted about the same time he did, and it's all fracked up now, and has a divergence of events. It'll have to be edited, and I unfortunately haven't gotten just how I'm going to edit the scene and still have the stuff I wanted to introduce in it.

The major problem is, that whole concept flies in the face of the entire thing Khardem and Glads did. It was an intense battle of minds, that had both of them wore out in the end. Galadriel barely got the information out of them, and Khardem was fighting tooth and nail right until the end; he didn't want anything compromised. Galadriel wouldn't take some fake information as easily as he implies.

See, I was planning on having some really wierd, Lovecraftian shit going on in our next adventure (Ia! Ia!). But if it's a fake location, THEN what?

Ah, well. I'll have to edit my last and next to last posts. I had no idea Allen was gonna post when he did.

Yup, but it's the only information she managed to extract, isn't it? Logically, Galadriel would have no other choice but believing it is a correct information, because it's the only thing she's got.

Ra wrote:See, I was planning on having some really wierd, Lovecraftian shit going on in our next adventure (Ia! Ia!). But if it's a fake location, THEN what?
Then be prepared for whatever Lovecraftian horror the Archmagus has prepared for the Alliance leaders. Cthulhu fhtagn!!!

Frankly, I have no idea what is actually planned by Allen by that one post (the fake information), but for the sake of suspense, I really hope he won't just wait for us with some empty, barren. I bet he'll really give us some dangerous, ancient Lovecraftian horror (maybe proto-Guardian or such? Dunno') upon our arrival at the fake location, right Allen?

It's up to Allen now. Meanwhile, we should pretend (as the players) that the location is true and prepare some expedition there.

But ah, that's the art of playing STGOD, isn't it? Jon had planned some Lovecraftian horror, while Allen posted that it was fake (of course the In-Universe characters do not aware). I guess the art of playing STGOD is adapting our plot to the one of our playing mate(s). For example, take a look at our STGOD: Allen's got the fake location, while Jon has his Lovecraftian horror. Mind you, you two can have both; both the fake location and the horror.

PS: alright, both Allen and Jon, maybe you two can communicate through PM to discuss what kind of trap (Lovecraftian horror) should be based on Khardem's fake information. Mind you, you two don't have to tell each other the whole thing you got in mind; that will reveal too much spoilers to each other. Maybe just sharing the general idea, while you each still keeping your own secrets to be revealed later!

Concerning the fake information, Technically, it's fake information to draw them OFF the right trail, Jon's lovecraftian horror can most assuredly still occur.

The fact that Khardem gave up fake info after the mental battle with Galadriel is meaningless, it still doesn't alter events.

Yay! We get to be eaten first!

There is no way to stop the end, but we at least don't have to watch the world be destroyed! Yay!

Speaking of which, there is a hilarious Jack T. Chick parody tract which is all about being eaten first. I'll find the link later, it is hilarious.
