OOC tips: Much as I hated Storm of Iron, there was indeed a corrupted hive-ship (infected with the wankery that keeps obliterators working) that had wandered into the Eye in it, in the posession of the Iron Warriors. I'm assuming by now, the Imperium's had reports of this monster.
And yeah, there are differences, according to WD. Though as she doesn't actually have eyes any more, it'll be hard to tell that difference.

No one posted about blowing up the web gate. It was in her quarters, which wasn't where the battle took place. We'll blame it on Vidor's slack search of her quarters on his ship.

*Cackles*
So, how'd you like Jolan to have a nice chat with a solitaire? And I've killed Draven. I hope you're happy.

Oh, and PCM, as you're online, now would be an excellent time to post (if he's not already) getting Pater onto that battleship. More shit is about to hit the fan (and splatter all over you inquisitors) and it'd be nice if I could do horrible things to your character too... errr... give Pater some action. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Very wise. At WS eight and four attacks, I'd be liable to just post, "The solitaire walked past Gix, with a snort of disgust. Then Gix noticed that his legs and arms were falling off."

Necron question: you're posting about the rocket of the bolter after it leaves the gun. Why? In gyrojet weapons, our closest real life equivalent, the rocket fires while in the barrel.

Because that's how they were written in the Inquisition War trilogy, basically.
There's an initial charge, (Which makes a 'raaark' noise) followed by the bolt leaving the barrel (with a distinct pop) and then the rocket activates (making a 'swoosh' noise).

Right, I remember now. Although its still exiting the barrel at pretty good velocity.

Yeah. I figure the initial speed is around 10 m/s at maximum. Why'd you ask, anyway? About the conversion field? I never really garunteed it'd fail to stop bolters at point blank range.
Oh, have you any suggestions for the worst holes in the Imperium? I'm making a list, of sorts...

Cats are curious, that's all. The exit velocity is probably a lot better than 10m/s. It struck me as grossely inconsistent that a 40K bolter would have worse close range performance than a 1960s gyrojet gun. How could Space Marines be so wanktastic at close quarters without the right toys? No self respecting Blood Angel would carry them.

Not really. A 1960s gyroget gun doesn't fire grenades on automatic fire. A bolter does.

For the rapid-fire grenades, or for trying to tweak Jolan's religosity?

The grenades I remember (and would have different ballistic characteristics than bolter rounds). Hell, I used them in Hethor's part of In Memoria (See Dark Angel. See Dark Angel Kill. See Corpses pile up).
Having the Harlequin appear as the Emperor is cunning worthy of Black Dalek.

Nah, the basic bolt is essentially a grenade, optimised for killing only one person. The actual grenade loadout is just more powerful, and a frag grenade, as I call.

A harlequin. These guys come in troupes, remember.

The grenades aren't suppossed to punch through armour and explode in flesh, in fact that would be bad, so they aren't going to be fired at nearly as high velocity of a bolter shell. The IoM can manage to make marble sized grenades and they can certaintly manage to make a charge capable of launching a bolter shell at a fairly substantial velocity.

I'm well aware. They were my first army, after all. I remember fighting 1000 and 1500 point battles with tiny numbers of figs. Won some of them too. My brother's anguish as my death jester vortex grenaded his Terminator Librarian is a rather fond memory.

And, in case you're wondering, yeah, Gix did hurt the shadow-seer, it just seems that he didn't because the shadow-seer's managed to keep the illusion up.

Small comfort to Gix. To him it appears he got casually owned when using his best power.
