Well they're "artificial" (magical?) creation, so I would suspect they don't have life-force. But Ra need to confirm this. I ain't really familiar with Tolkien's. :(
Robert Walper wrote:The Orcs are nothing really special in combat, strength or intelligence. I figured they simply need to have a special use in this fight, hence my idea of not providing the Pheonix feeding sources and being virtually immune to the Ancient's song. Frusterating both this godlike powers. ;)
Yup, the Phoenix is frustrated, and driven further to insanity.
Robert Walper wrote:I could see my forces helping the "army of light" via to ensure their own survival, but they'd never by any means be considered "good guys". Not unless Walper has a serious change of heart.
Now this is what I'm really interested in:
I would rather have "grey" area instead of clear distinction between "good" and "evil". What is "good"? What is "evil"?
Consider Babylon Five: yes, they're generally "good" guys, but what Londo Mollari feels about the Narn? (although he eventually hands out Lord Refa to them). How about the bickering among themselves? (although they eventually unite).
The "army of light" (the New Alliance, I mean :P , but "Army of Light" sounds good!) don't have any choice but cooperating to ensure their survival, and the survival of the universe.
I imagine the Borg wouldn't turn to be "good" by a flash instant; by Lord Walper turning to the Light Side. No, that would be cheap.
I imagine Light Side and Dark Side is merely a matter of religion -strictly personal issues. Staying on the Dark Side doesn't mean Lord Walper cannot befriend another characters like Ra or Lord Detritus. And it would be a gradual process; by fighting side-by-side, by solving the puzzles together, by discovering the mystery.
G'Kar of Narn was an unfriendly, gruff, and "hardline" character during the early phase of Babylon Five, but as the story goes, it is interesting to see more of his "light" side and sense of "comradeship".
Remember a B5 episode, where Sheridan and Delenn discovering Centauri fighters were destroying friendly ships (I don't remember who the friendly ships actually are). They anticipated a war against the Centauri, but at the end Delenn hugged Londo Mollari. She told the surprised ambassador, "because you are my friend and there may not be another chance to do it." Yes, their governments are going to war, but personally they are friends. They have emotional bonds with each other which gradually grows out of their fight against the Shadows.
I don't know whether the New Alliane would eventually break up, or still have some grudge with each other, but probably they would eventually be friends due to their strive against the Ancients and the Phoenix.
I dunno', but I never like the idea of "black and white" good and evil. Is there anything "good" or "evil" except of ancient legends? The way I see it, there's only an endless conflict of contradicting interest. One's personal interest may be different than his/her government's interest, and they may be events where you are going to be officially hostile with your friend.
Robert Walper wrote:]Although if he does, I'd like it to be a matter of Walper turning to the light, but dying in the process fighting the Pheonix power or something. :)
Well, after the War of the Gods is over, the Empire is going to split in two; the Renegade faction under the New Alliance, and the Evil Imperial Regime under President Clark... I mean under the influence of the Organization (they are using the Guardan's tech). Are you sure you want to die while the excitement is still going? ;)
Robert Walper wrote:Interesting idea...I'd only have trouble figuring out why the other sources would be so willing to help Lord Walper as they cannot know his exact plans, but his lust for power and evil domination is hardly a secret. ;)
Mutual survive would ensure that thing, you know! ;)
However, it's interesting to see the secret agenda of the Borg.
Robert Walper wrote:Nitpick here: Walper's Borg shielding can actually block lightsaber strikes. Would look more impressive honestly if the saber does not breach the shield, but the force of the strik hurls Robert through the air. ;) That, or the shield has failed at this point for wahtever reason (overuse, etc)
Yup. There's still plenty of time to think about it.
As for Darth Kreshna, I would imagine he is getting merged with the Phoenix, making him a "fire" being. Did anyone watch
Blade? Where Deacon Frost turned into some sort of "blood deity"?
Robert Walper wrote:Interesting idea...but let's wait some time before we plan this. Haven't even finished plotting my duel with Adam here yet. :)
He is a powerful Mage. Maybe you would need some power boost from the Collective? And don't worry about the ending part... We're still far from it. :P
