Motherboard design in this case cannot be called nice unless you have the view of an idiot.
The motherboard power connector is placed in a position that either you have to route it weirdly or go over the HSF. The 4 pin CPU power pin is in a terrible location, the RAM slots overlay each other(larger RAM modules will hurt). Etc.
While this is far more critical in a modern board, its still annoying.
