Review is here!

For folks who liked the old Dawn of Steel, this is back and it's good stuff. Really good. The tech-tree is fiddled with extensively, and a few units got alot of changes. But the core.. The Soldiers, Rough Riders, and their heavy weapons crews are the bulk of your infantry, and Sentinels, all Chimera vehicles, and all Russ-hull things are here.

Biggest changes: Stormtroopers shoved to late game, as befits them. Sorry, too uber for something to churn out in the opening minutes. Their weapon choices are reduced, but the Meltagun is now actually given a cool animation! Also, they always Deep Strike, via a little Valkyrie.

Trojans don't use Vehicle Cap. Wow, a reason to use them. And you get one free at startup.

The Vanquisher is gone from the Tank Fabric, replaced with the Basilisk. The 'Lisk still needs Airstrip research, but the Vanquisher is now at the airfield.

The Vanquisher, Demolisher, and Executioner all airstrike as before, but now only one at a time. Which sucks, two Executioners into the heat of battle was fun!

Stormblade no longer needs Power Tech researched, but it's main gun uses Power resource. It fires without command, so watch out!

Comisinars are now buildable; they even bring powerfists! They seem to be similar to Cadian ones, minus the Execution thing.

Yes, there's still the drunk priest.

The little sentry booths on points build Soldiers and heavy weapons teams. Reinforcements on the fly!
Half-Damned, All Hero.

Just downloaded an played this myself. Suffered massive casualties against the Space Marines in the opening 10 to 15 minutes as they were able to churn out their command units and dreadnoughts like candy. Of course once I got the Leman Russ tanks out onto the field the tables turned real fast. Heavy weaps. teams are a must, they will save your troops every time. I didn't get a chance to get Stormtroopers on the field because by then I was already busy holding the line with my standard troops. But anyway, tanks are god and are a must, end of story.

Is it just me, or does it take a long time to load for anybody else? :???:

Beyond that, yes, it's fun. I find it convenient to spam my Pioneers (cursed limit of three!) and run them out all over the battlefield to grab and build on the SP's or Relics, while I produce a bunch of standard Guardsmen and keep them in the best chokepoints.

Sweet mother of -!

Deep Strike StormTrooper's fucking own the battlefield. The ones equipped with Multi-meltas even more so.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1, there's no place like 126.0.0.1

Oh, I had this incredible website, and you were locally hosted, and you were locally hosted, and so were you.

*skips off madly to the sunset*
