It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

A ballad about murder. Think of a song about a hero. Change that hero into an assassin and change the song. Ta da. What do you think Lolthite poetry and music is like anyway? Rainbows and roses?Narsil wrote:

Of course not... I was just checking to see if I already knew that one. And being morbid is not a bad thing. It's actually a 'somewhat leaning towards good' thing in the evil books. And I'm a Brit, I automatically qualify for liking things that are villainousCynical Cat wrote:A ballad about murder. Think of a song about a hero. I always figured it to be angry and sad about being exiled from the surface by the light elves and full of graphic verses descirbing what was going to happen when the Drow finially got their revenage on their enemies (let's ask who isn't included in the enemies list, the answer will be shorter that way).What do you think Lolthite poetry and music is like anyway?
Sorta like Death Metal crossed with emo goth stuff.
And then there would be songs about Genocide...

Why do I suddenly get the image of a Drow Bard wearing all black and bemoaning his/her position in the world and stating that the now rediculous hairstyle is 'representative of his/her pain'.Frigid wrote:Sorta like Death Metal crossed with emo goth stuff.
From playing Hordes of the Underdark, on a much more serious note, I got the feeling that Drow music is sombre, dark, yet not too unlike Elven music with much darker overtones, since it fits their thematic perspective. In fact, sombre classical fits a bit more than the Emo/Goth style, since Drow are still nobility-based. And probably quite percussion-heavy.
So to get on topic (y'know, commentary);
Interesting, another Jedi in Shadow War, eh? Jedi are always fun... but Sith are still cooler; marriage and passion are allowed, yay!

That would be true for the older works ("classics"), but after millenia they don't pine for the surface. They still carry their grudges, but that's nothing new. The more modern work is going to be centered on drow doing drow things. Like murdering their rivals.frigidmagi wrote:I always figured it to be angry and sad about being exiled from the surface by the light elves and full of graphic verses descirbing what was going to happen when the Drow finially got their revenage on their enemies (let's ask who isn't included in the enemies list, the answer will be shorter that way).What do you think Lolthite poetry and music is like anyway?

Drow thought crime-officers, sounds like something you wouldn't want to meet in a backalley. Or even broad daylight, because knowing the average person's luck, the inquisitor just has to have the 'Daylight Adaptation' feat...LadyTevar wrote:As well as any male caught singing/humming or even just thinking about itNarsil wrote:The person who created it is often consecutively sliced into pieces/driderised, however, so it is very occasional

Well... Star Wars Galaxies is semi-canon, and it's got a 'Beat the Dead Horse' mentality. HK-47 himself lasted to the middle of the Galactic Civil War canonically via his appearance in the Star Wars Galaxies.LadyTevar wrote:Nitram: THEY MADE MORE OF HIM!?!?

Every time Orbakh opens his fanged mouth, the urge to see him shish-kabobed on the end of a holy avenger grows stronger.
