"I suggest you learn to control your tongue before I remove it for you. And who are you?"

"Maeglin, and there's no need for threats, sir knight," he sighed, "just offering some constructive criticism as to your hunting style; you're too loud, the armour doesn't help, your pose seems to be optimised as to make the loudest clatter as possible while wearing that plate, and that is a great disadvantage while hunting elves."

He put his hand on his sword hilt.

The snicker that Sivri had been holding back quickly died. She straightened up and put her hands on her hips.

"And what, may I ask is your proof?" She raised and eyebrow.

In real life Rory all but let out a "what the fuck?!" She couldn't remember this guy for the life of her. Rory began thinking of escape plans....

Sivri slowly placed on hand on her thigh and the other poised a potion for throwing. This was seriously dampening her plans for the rest of the evening...

Maeglin chuckled, "Well you are accusing her, good sir knight, offering proof would only be the gentlemanly thing to do, would it not?"

He walked between them, "And an elf is an elf, and I value an elf's life far more than that of a human, so if you do not offer proof of your heinous accusations; I shall be forced to intervene in any fight between her and yourself; and on her side, I might add."

Decimus narrowed his eyes.

"My proof. You, Dark Elf, are wanted for the assassination of Colonel Adam Bellamy, senior officer in the Baron's Militia. I was the one who stopped you from killing him the first time. Though you got to him when I wasn't there."

Decimus pulled out a leather holder and opened it. It had his name, a badge and an insignia that showed he was an officer in the militia.

"This really isnt any of your business, Elf."

Sivri stared blankly, "I have no idea of whom you're speaking of knight. And I can assure you dropping names and titles will get you nowhere."

Her hand grasped her daggers handle, she was ready to go when he was. And although she could handle herself, the other Elf made a good distraction., she inched for the door while they talked.

"Yes, I did a bastardly thing to Thog, but I couldnt resist. Tell him he is welcome in my grove while he builds a new and doubtless larger house. However, there are more important matters. I suspect that the town is going to come under more attack than my usual harassment of loggers. I may not like civilization but I dont think innocent people should die either. There are riders on Dark Wolves roughly 100 meters from the forest break near the town's industrial district. I take it you are near that area. The necromancer is on his way to assist in any defense and you know I dont like him in my forest"

That information took the argument right out of Leandra. She glanced to Thog, who was still standing nearby with a look of intense concentration on his face. "Thog? We need to go see Elwin right away. There's trouble." and, because she knew what would be his immediate reaction, she hastily added "Wait for me, I have to pack my potions."

As she quickly grabbed potions that would be useful in a fight and reviewed the spells she had available, she heard voices outside. "Thog? Please see who's out there, and tell them that there's trouble in the forest. See if they'd like to join us, please?"

Thog waited for several seconds, mentally queueing up the three seperate orders. He held up three fingers, and relied on his incredible counting ability to see him through the day(Once, someone had bet Thog he couldn't count past ten. The half-giant had removed his shoes and offered to go to twenty-one. The tavern's patrons had quickly assured him there was no need.).

The huge brute emerged from the back, peering to the people there. "Why you makin' noise?" He asked simply, peering at the three. "Dun matter. You tree want help? Silly leafy-elf in trouble again. Thog need helper, we go smash trouble." There. That was one of the three down. Now, was he going to wait for the druid, or wait for Lee-Dra? He frowned at his fingers, expecting one of them to pipe up.

Sviri's tiny figure looked up at the half giant. -Oh god I hope he doesn't decide to take a seat...I'll be obliterated.- Her eyes were huge, but she was more than thankful for the distraction, it allowed her to run out the front door. She had assumed that the knight had been bluffing and she was right. She made her way around to the back to talk to Leandra.

"Hey Le, com'ere quick."

Decimus took off running out the front door. His wolf was with his horse. He mounted his horse and looked around. Nothing.

"Damn."

He took off towards the gate of the town near the forest.

He reached it and told the guards there that there was trouble in the forest. He sent a fast rider back to the Keep to get a detachment of militia down here to go check out the trouble in the forest.

The half-giant paid careful attention to his two fingers. He tapped each with another finger, counting them. Just when he seemed on a breakthrough, he noticed the finger he was using to count. He frowned. That one had to mean something too!

"Do you have trouble remembering to breathe sometimes?" the high elf couldn't help but ask, "Ah never mind, just take me to see Leandra, I believe she's the potions' mistress around here, isn't she? I've got a few ingredients for her... I can't do anything with them myself; but I figure they'll be useful when made into a potion or something like that."

Vadlenar was drawing close to where his friend was but he stopped along with the procession of about a dozen skeletons that followed him. They were about as quiet as an iron pot full of rocks rolling down marble steps and would certainly give away his position in just a manner of seconds. Leandra blinked, then peered out the back door. "Vi? what are you doin.... no. No I don't want to know." But the little dark elf's presence suddenly made the fuss at the front door much clearer. "Here... just take this, and meet me by the edge of the woods," she said as she handed over a bottle of Invisibility Oil. "Elwin needs help, someone's invading his woods." Since Leandra knew Vi was also a fan of the lovely little druid, she had no doubts Sviri would help. "I'll take care of the ones out front."

And, with her pack well-stocked with potions, Leandra picked up her mace and walked towards the front of the shop to make sure Thog was still waiting for her.

Elwyn's preparations were almost complete. He could animate several trees and transmute them into Ents for a short period, and he could summon the wrath of the forest's insects. Bees, wasps, swarms of ants.

He whispered again into the communication stone

"Leandra, if you can get people to help, position them just outside the forest. I am going to see if I can ascertain their true intentions before we do anything that could get anyone killed. Never know... they may be talkative if a tree starts asking them questions."

Justin was twitching. The game was smart, it didnt give level information or anything like that which the character would not know. And because he had never seen these things before, he had no idea what power level they posessed. They could be twice his level for all he knew, or they could be paper tigers.

Brian was bored... extremely so. He wasn't even completely in the game and had a Discworld book in his hands and he often alternated between the screen and the pages of the book, "This better not get as boring as that bloody fifteen hour raid."

"Thank you, I'll see you in the forest!" Sivri immedately used the potion and headed for the forest. She always took the chance that if she helped El then she could 'woo' him. So far her efforts had been fruitless. She waited for the rest of the group at the entrance to the forest.
