I trust everyone has worked out how they know each other I assume?

If not, then better get on the ball, the main thread starts tonight, as soon as I finish composing the opening post.

It's a skill. Natural talent will carry you only so far, the rest is hard work.

Thog is known to Leandra and Elwyn from some grouping, and I'm sure it's about the same.

Thog. Is. Dumb. Or at least is played that way until hit with a stray Int or Wis buff. I cannot overstress how clueless the big guy is. But he is nice, and is damn good at rushing the bad guy and tanking while bashing things faces in.

Leandra's one of those nice people who will group with anyone if they need a cleric for a rough spot. She also has a very well-stocked potion shop, which is something else that people need.

And she's a cyberslut, so chances are she's had 'encounters' with just about everybody, Rukia included ;)
Except Thog. He's always been too dumb to get the hints.

Haven't gotten Ottoman yet either. Though he does occasionally require various sleep potions and some less healthy potions and as such sends verile young men to get them.

Excellent....good deal

I'll be setting the thread in a moment.....

hopefully everyone will enjoy the thread, and we'll get this moving along.

Make sure to read the GM note after the main body, it'll give some footnotes for the scene.

Rukia, I'm pretty sure when we were talking about his assignments for you that I said you would never know exactly who was behind the hiring. And even if I didn't Ottoman isn't stupid enough to let his good name get sullied by giving it to an assassin as her employer.

Vadlenar is just creepy, and i'm gonna have to say yeah he probably hasent slept with Leandra the combonation of the cleric/necromancer thing and the fact that he actually likes having rumors about him so people leave him alone.

ok people.....

the same thing which happened at the begining of the Super hero's thread is happening now.

In short, slow the fuck down! Give other people time to post!

I know everyone's excited and all, but sheesh, it's bad when I have to refresh my page a couple times as I'm writing a post, tomake sure I'm not skipping anything, and I'm the GM!

In short, while I'm happy everyone wants to get in some fun, give it sometime also. We're in no rush to finish the story, I got things planned out a good bit of the way.

Oh, and a object lesson was nessacry....your lucky this is a SMMORPG....death doesn't have as many consequences in Destiny...

To echo DS a little here about the slowing down thing. If you'll notice, my last post, which was less than 24 hours ago, is back on page one. We're now on page 4. DS and I stopped our dialogue to let you guys catch up. The same for us would have been appreciated.

Ok....I see the requirement to explain things a bit before we go on.. since I didn't make it clear in the prologue and manuals.

When your character logs into Zion, thier not sitting at a traditional computer and chair setup with the HDD. They are actually standing in a 3d holographic representation of the gameworld, as created by the Holographic Display Device.

Think of this as a early form of holodeck from Star Trek, without the nasty malfunctions which make it homocidal/self-aware. You can smell the smells, hear the sounds, feel the textures, etc, but none of it is truly real, when the HDD shuts down, so does the holographic images.

The player becomes the Avatar, infact, a thin mostly transparent outline forms around the player, of his Avatar. The avatar will mirror his movements, so if you want the character to walk, you walk, if you want it to run, you run. As long as your "recognized" by the HDD as a current user, you remain "stationary" and the world moves around you. this is similar to the "treadmill forcefield" effect of the holodeck.

If you want the character to speak, you speak, and the game modulates the voice to be heard as the characters by other players. There exsist a "virtual keyboard" for use by the player, it is a full QWERTY keyboard, along with "hotkeys" which act as functions.

Pressing a button on the virtual keyboard, changes the keyboard display (which is floating just before the player in the position they most prefer keyboards), and the keys change to list either spells, or abilities, or in the case of Sorcerer's, previously used Rotes, and Key's which are dedicated to the Words of Power.

So, for a example

Dark Silver is walking through the forest, his player can feel the wind blowing across his cheek, smell the flowers and the scent of the stream, etc etc. Suddenly, a goblin appears weilding a sword.

At this time, Dark Silvers player takes cover behind a tree, before the Goblin can see him, he makes a gesture which brings up the virtual keyboard, hits the "Spells" section, and the virtual keyboard instantly switches to list the Words of Power, along with various spells he's prepared for quick casting previously.

Now, the player has two options, he can either say the name of the spell he wants to cast (in this case Fireball), and pantomine the gesture, which the game will translate to him speaking the Words of Power, or he can select "Fireball" from the list of prepared spells. If he wanted to attempt to create a new spell from the words of power, one he has never cast before, he could select the Words of Power to be used, which would then define the spell effect, and preform a gesture which would borever in his HDD, become associated with the spell.

In this case, Dark Silver comes out from behing the tree, the player says fireball while slinging his arm forward, as if throwing a baseball at the goblin, and his Avatar does likewise, but insteads intones the words of power for the fireball spell.

Dealig with dying ingame:

When you die, you are given a option to stay dead until a cleric/healer comes along, or the option to spawn as a ghost above your corpse.

As a ghost, you are insubstantial, and no one can see you, except other ghost, or Clerics/Healers. You may now go insearch of someone able to ressurect you, and take a hit to your gold, and a loss of some experience points from your "character sheet". This gold then goes to the person who healed you. After you are brought back to life, you must now go insearch of your corpse (you will have a innate link and knowledge of where you left the corpse), and reacquire your gear before it is stolen.

Sharkbait:
Soulstones will allow the person to Ressurect at anytime they desire, but they'll still wander as a ghost. They will still have to loot thier body to reobtain thier equipment and money they carried.

General Note:
I'm developing a case of the twitches.....

Next person who brings OOC info into the game, will get smacked down, hard.

I'll personaly feed your chaacters to Chemosh and Lloth.

Only two people have the clues to even start peicing together what the hell is happening, and I've been very deliberate on that front.

While some of the larger world events may clue things, for the most part, it will SEEM like it's a ingame event. That all this is connected by something from Fortuna.
