#1 How big is Sauron?
What the topic title asks...from "Lord of the Rings", how big is Sauron? Seems like a huge character, but roughly how tall is he? And specifics on his physical dimensions is appreciated.

He's a shapeshifter. Depends which shape he is wearing.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

Looking at the movie, the men in armor seem to come up to his lower chest or thereabouts. Assuming the men are between 5 and 6ft that would make Saron between let's say 8 to 10ft tall. In other words really fucking tall, about Troll size.

Yeah, I have the DVD myself. But it was hard to gauge his height. For example when Sauron is swiping at and sending airborn a dozen or more enemies with his mace, he seems even taller than that.frigidmagi wrote:Looking at the movie, the men in armor seem to come up to his lower chest or thereabouts. Fifteen feet (or so I recall one of the RotS DVD appendicies saying) in FotR. That form, however, is non-canon. His actual form is most likely about seven feet, in keeping with elf and numenorian sizes.

I remmember seeing an exhibit in the science museum with his armour and i'd say about 1.6 times the height of an average adult man.

The armour was blown up (size wise) in the first film. He was depicted at 1:1 scale in the third film (holding a palantir, and in the deleted scene with him confronting Aragorn.) though.Dark lord of the megas wrote:I remmember seeing an exhibit in the science museum with his armour and i'd say about 1.6 times the height of an average adult man.

So be it. If saying "NO" means being alone, then to hell with love, with romance, with marriage, and all the shit life keeps pumping at me. I'll walk alone, but with freedom and a healed pride.

Yeah, but I'm hoping to get a relatively accurate size of him first to appropiately write him up, etc.Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman wrote:@Robert: I guess you plan something with Sauron regarding to the TGOD.....

That's easy. Eru put in abeyance his ability to take on fair form, but Sauron was never body-fixated in the same way Morgoth became. Sauron can still shapeshift, it'll just all be unpleasant looking to the average human.Robert Walper wrote:Yeah, but I'm hoping to get a relatively accurate size of him first to appropiately write him up, etc.
