The Glitch IV - Inversion (Ch. 1)

Thog returned his attention to his passengers as he saw red. One was even riding the end of his hammer.

[WHEE! Fun!]

The hammer twisted and came down hard on a rock. There's a brief, very final, 'squeak' noise. Then blood.

[Shark Bait]

Vadlenar’s army of dead skeletons circled around him the mages pulled close in began chanting silently save the faint sound’s of dry bones clanking together. The warriors fanned out into the brush hacking through the little bastards in groups of two with an assortment of weapons including swords, axes, and maces. Meanwhile Vadlenar hopped nimbly off of his horse pointed at a patch of the little chattering bastards which dropped dead almost instantly as he cast circle of death on them. By now his mage’s had finished their spell lightning arced out from their fingertips covering the flanks of the group which had been ignored by Thog’s wailings. As the lightning struck the creatures it not only damaged them but jumped from them to the combatant next to them and so on through several of them before burning it’s self out, many of the Trullets burst into flame and died instantly others were shocked and fell down dieing more slowly and several on the outer edges were injured and stunned but still alive.

Matthew cursed. Trillits never did this when there was no event. And there hadn't been any events mentioned. Damnit.

Ottoman pulled out his shield in time to deflect a barrage of darts that were heading his way. Growling a malign aura seemed to seep from Ottoman, scattering the Trullets that had been near him. "Damnit, where is that druid?!" Ottoman caught a Trullet trying to sneak up behind him and skewered it on his sword, tossing the screaming troll thing deep into the underbrush.

Sivri was off Meeka in a heart beat. "Never a dull moment." She exclaimed as she dashed around the creatures. She moved with speed and grace, avoiding the swing of Thogs hammer and Val's army. She took a lot out by the time they started playing dirty.

"We're gonna have to get outta here, these brats are easily taken care of in small groups but I'll be damned if theres not a lot of them."

She continued to attack the things as she waited for another plan.

[LadyTevar]

It was time to help her teammates as best she could.
"Mother of the Earth, rain your healing waters upon my companions!" Leandra prayed, casting the spell to touch herself and all others within her party. ((Mass Cure Moderate))

The hard part would be making sure this spell didn't hit the Skeletons... unfortunately, it meant that the spell might not touch Valdenar either. He would have to heal on his own.

[Comrade Tortoise]

Just as the Otoman asked the druid question, Elwyn cam screaching down from the sky in his Raven form, and transmuted suddenly into a massive blck panther as soon as he hit the ground.

He swatted several of them dead with his massive paws an bit one of the litle bastards in twain.

RAARRRHHROW!!!

Even as they fought back, darts were raining in on the group, the druid's body covered in no less than three of the annoyances.

The Trullets on Thog scrambled and leaped off after he smashed the one on the end of his hammer. They chittered and seemed to scream at him [Not fun! We Play!]

After a few minutes, the darts stopped flying from the trees, leaving only the small group of four staring at the bloody smear of thier companion - the only remains left from Thog's smashing.

Vadlenar extended a hand up into the air made a fist and pulled it to his chest, he reached out and grabbed the life force of several of the little critters and drew it into himself. He replenished his life-force but more importantly he struck down several more of the Trullets as they ran deeper into the woods.

Elwyn transmuted back into his Fey form and removed the darts. He muttered a few incomprehsible syllables and healed himself of his comparatively minor wounds.

'What the hells?"

[Explain. Now. Or smashy-smash!] Thog grunted, the pure rage giving way to pain, weakness, and bloodloss. He'd suffered the brunt of the assault, and he knew all too well he was now loaded full of poisons. Still, he found reserves of strength to stay upright.

[Comrade Tortoise]

Elwyn ran over to Thog and muttered his spells

Alnal Nethrac Uthvast Bethud, doth diel dienveh! He cured Thog of the poisons and the wounds. It just to happened that druidic magic all used the same incantation.

[LadyTevar]

Leandra was also wounded from the darts, but her rapid recasting of healing spells over herself and the party had kept her wounds to a minimum. Now that the worst was over, she was simply handing every party member a potion while she waited for her mana to regenerate.

"I can't believe you're still talking to them, Thog..." she said over her shoulder to the half-giant.

[Comrade Tortoise]

"Here, have a dose of your own poison"

He muttered his incantation again, and dozens of poisenous quills erupted from his hands and were sent like a hail of arrows into the little group of murderous runts.

The Trullets wailed over the death of thier fellow, and where about to answer Thog, when Elwyn shot them full of the quills.

Being low level mobs, of course, the quills caused more than enough damage to kill the four, and thier lifeless bodies sank to the ground as the digital life slipped from thier eyes, with only a low "Mruellet" of innocence and pain.

Thog's eyes were hard as they fell on the druid. "STUPID, STUPID, DU-DID!" Bellowed the weary half-giant. "Stupid, stupid, stupid! Stupid like swamp dragon! They knew what going on, but you stu-pid!" The behemoth snarled and shook his head. Now there was no clue what was going on.

[Rukia]

"Whatthehellwasthat?" It came out as one word as Siv collected herself watching the Trullets run and the last ones die. She pulled some darts from her arms and side. "Can someone pull the ones outta my back? I can't reach them." The poison, although low level was taking it's toll already.

[Comrade Tortoise]

The druid Yanked the posion darts out of her back and cast a quick spell to hopefully cure the poisons. Poisons were unpleasant

"Here.. let me get them," Leandra offered, handing her healing and antidote bottles before starting to pull the little darts out. "Drink those, they'll get rid of whatever poison these little buggers have on them."

Thog's angry outburst drew her attention. "Oh please... Elwyn, they'd stopped attacking, they'd gone neutral again, or didn't you notice? Thog, somehow, could have gotten information out of them."

One day Leah ws going to figure out how Al had code-hacked that.

[Comrade Tortoise]

Being called stupid by the half giant hurt more than anything. And all Elwyn could do at that point was hang his head in stoic shame.

[Rukia]

Sivri thanked both Le and El. She turned and patted El's shoulder. "Hey it's ok, you got caught up. I probably would have done the same." She looked at Thog and Le, "Look, if we're gonna start snipping at each other already, and we haven't even left... Count me out. It's too early for this shit."

Thog knelt down by the dead pixies, shaking his head slowly. "Poor little tu-llits." He sighed, closing his eyes. "Dey not very smart, but dey nice. Someone did a bad thing. Dey supposed to be nice. Only pick on noo-bees, who dey help anyways. Someone made little tu-llits go to die. Dat bad."

As if given new resolve, Thog straightened up. "We gonna find da bad men and hurt them. In face."

Vadlenar had hung back to tend to his army, they had taken some damage though the poisons had no effect on them, mostly they just looked ridiculous with little pins and needles sticking out of them at odd angles. One skeleton had darts in both eyes sockets, not that he actually used them to see but still the result was somewhat comical. After removing all of the darts from his army he made a few repairs on them with the proper spells before heading back over to the group. Elwyn was hanging his head in shame and the other members of the group were looking at him in anger. “Did I miss something here?â€

There were times when Al used Thog to say the most rediculous things... but they'd have a core of intelligence to them.

"Long story Valde. Elwyn didn't notice that the trullets had stopped fighting, and were talking to Thog again." Leandra shrugged. "But Thog's right. Something stirred up the trullets, because they wouldn't attack a party of our strength otherwise."

[Comrade Tortoise]

"I aplogize. I sometimes... lose myself in battle"

"Oh is that it?" Vadlenar asked stepping forward, he knelt down over one of the bodies and dangled a pendent over it's forhead. He muttered something under his breath and the boddy twitched before sitting up and drawing it's self to it's feet. "Ask it now," he said to Thog "might still be able to tell us something."
