Okay, as I was looking through the deathwatch rules (For my latest project. A highly radical alien-hunter {In fact, Maturin Ralei from Xenology} army based off the witch-hunters - It'll be playable as soon as that forge-world model arrives, but I have every intention of adding zealots and/or Deathwatch to it...) my resistance finally broke when I noticed that they look really awesome with lightning claws.
So... If it' not too late, can I join with a Raven Guard character? If no one's taken the role of captain, that too (mainly because I'm keen on the idea of a getting jump pack too, for full on Raven Guardness)
As for ammunition loadout. The deathwatch pattern bolter shown on the models has an auto-selector with four buttons for Stalker/Metal Storm/Inferno(or Hellfire)/Kraken rounds. I'd suspect there's some kind of mechanism in there to cycle through the shells and select the right ones at will. Don't ask me how that works though. Of course, the rules suggest that they're normally only armed with one type, but I suspect this is rather conservative. Failing that, normal bolt weapons have a side-insert port to shove ammunition through.

I take it our meeting is concluded, then? To be honest, I can't think of much more that could be said with the information we have.

You can still talk, if you want. You've just go other options. Since someone is going to ask, you have a variety of space-to-surface vessels at your disposal, including a Thunderhawk.

Okay, for those of us who aren't fully indoctrined into the ungodly amount of fluff and knowledge that comes with the 40k 'verse what is a Narcathium/Reductor.

Narcathium is a specialized medkit device for Marines. It can be used on Baselines, but with chance of damage.B4UTRUST wrote:Okay, for those of us who aren't fully indoctrined into the ungodly amount of fluff and knowledge that comes with the 40k 'verse what is a Narcathium/Reductor.
A Reductor nabs the little things called Geneseed in a Marine. There's one in the chest, one in the back of the neck. The preservation of it is extremely important to a Chapter.

You've got grenades, a power sword, and a bolter with multiple types of ammo. Underarmed my ass. Now man up, go kill a couple of Crisis Suits. and get back to us.Charon wrote:*looks at the weapon loadouts of the other marines.* I feel vasty under armed...

Thanks. I know about the geneseeds and that there are like 13 little extra organs and such (some chapters have lost some) that are implanted into the space marine that makes them the space marine. Didn't know what the tools were that extracted the gene seed.SirNitram wrote:Narcathium is a specialized medkit device for Marines. As an example, one of the tests an aspiring Space Marine goes through is whether he can live through the medical exam. Also, fluff from the Space Marine Codex indicates that the Reductor is fatal in use.SirNitram wrote:Narcathium is a specialized medkit device for Marines. I'm guessing the Hippocratic Oath is a bit different in the grim, far future, hey?

Nah, I was just looking at the fact that everyone save our heretic has more gear than me. It must be because they are not good enough to work with only what I have.Cynical Cat wrote:You've got grenades, a power sword, and a bolter with multiple types of ammo. Underarmed my ass. Now then, a couple of Crisis Suits? Should the Emperor will it I shall deliver to him the head of every Tau. Terra victor!

No, it's simply that we realize that we humble meer mortals are no match for the mighty near god-like power of every Astartes. We poor wretches can not hope to come close to such awe-inspiring ability.Charon wrote:Nah, I was just looking at the fact that everyone save our heretic has more gear than me. Mia won't find any relevant information. Pics of xenos architecture is going to be disappointing, consisting pretty much of the base of what once were terraforming tower complexes.

For those who want to move on, you're in orbit above the planet in a ship with teleporters, Thunderhawks, shuttles, and Valkyries amoung other small craft.

Hehe. Well, I felt creative, and it's an explanation for where the combi-plasgun came from. And a Horus Rising reference. And it gets in my thoughts on how lightning claws and power fists should work (inspired by that poster of the Emperor facing Horus, where you can see their hands inside the claws (it also solves the question of 'how does he reload with that lightning claw on?')). And...Pcm979 wrote:Hey, stealing that much scene at once is a felony!
Anyway, I should have a model of this character (earlier in his career) some time this weekend. Lightning claws and other bits are on order now.

Considering how he *got* the Eldar wraithbone armor, it's a miracle hes' not been exterminated for extreme heresy, including contamination from consorting with Xenos. The Necrontyr Messenger wrote:Humm. Nit's latest marine's even more of a heretic than usual.
Several decades on an Eldar agri-world will do that, you know. So will making the close acquaintance of a former Banshee Aspect warrior.
