Hrm, a question here. The Arco-Flagellants: are they completely braindead and have to be told everything or are they somewhat self-sufficent(child's mental capability)? I asked Nitram and he stated he wasn't for sure but they apparently had somewhat simple minds.

I ask this for RP purposes so I know whether it'll be more accurate for Gravin to order them to do even the most menial simple task(walk, sit, stop, follow, etc.) or if they are capable of some sort of initiative and are able to do these minor tasks on their own. I know they have specific command words that switch them from pacified sheep mode to Emperor's Holy Wrath mode but is there anything to them other then that?

They're pretty much servitors. In passive mode they do with their told. You don't have to micromanage every detail, but they're neither bright nor independent.

While there might be, nay, probably is, a fully functioning heretic mind in there, from what we've seen, it's basically 'give them instructions' or just 'let them go into a drug crazed killfrenzy'

It is notable that another inquisitor had them pose as hooded acolytes and Eisenhorn didn't clue in until they were activated. So they don't need to be micromanaged.

Not that hooded acolytes usually do much in 40K. They just tend to... stand around. Like ornaments.

No they don't, but it does mean you can give orders like "follow me around and don't do anything" and they will obey without you having to micromanage them.

I was wondering if they'd be something like Mickey's Broom in Fantastia: do the same thing until ordered otherwise

For the record: the Janissary team Halima brought with her contains Elder Mertok, two clan warriors, one marksman with a long-las (retconned in to replace a standard trooper, if that's acceptable to CC), and one of the special weapons troopers, along with Federov's combat servitors.

Also, since we're on the subject of *ahem* backstory, is there any interest in setting up a Memoria thread in the style of the last 40k RP, to post backstories in?

EDIT: Also, a question for CC regarding the scene - were any of the Arbiters using las-weapons? I would have assumed not, as they typically use combat shotguns, but one of the earlier posts referred to "spent energy packs" littering the area, which left me slightly confused. Would they have come from the Arbiter's weaponry, or the weaponry of whoever killed them? Or both?

Two of the Arbites carried hellguns. Retcon acceptable. There's a fanfiction section for anyone who wants to set up a Memoria thread, it would probably best go there.

Sorry  Was thinking that arbites carried las weapons for some reason. Probably because I've been up more or less since about 9am yesterday. So yeah.

I can edit when I return from PT if needed. Let me know.

Some do. Like the two dead Arbites on the roof with hellguns. The autoloading combat shotguns are their signature weapon, but not the only one they use.

Any other deathwatch that want to have been on that Thunderhawk (fun though having my own is) are of course, welcome. It should simplify deployment a bit.

Hey, what can I say. They're disgruntled...

*facepalms* And this is what you shouldn't post when you haven't slept in almost 24 hours B4. And now you know...

And this is why we should not have such humerous bits in 40k...

"And we are the heretics who say....Nurgle!"
*Gasp!*

"Nobody suspects the Imperial Inquisition!"

"This gretchin is dead!"
"No 'e isn't!"
"'E's just sitting there! 'is feet are nailed to the ground!"
"No they're not!"
"Yes they are! Look at that there!"
"I see nothing!"

"What, behind the gretchin?"
"It IS the gretchin!"

"Brother-sergeant Maynard, bring out the holy frak-gernade of Russ"
And thus did the Marines sing the praises of Russ and the tales of his deeds...

"Suddenly, the artist had a heart attack and the beast of the Eye faded away. And there was much rejoicing."

Before they could cross the bridge to assault the ridge they were stopped by a Inquisitorial-Lord in dirty brown robes.
"What is your name?"
"Brother-Sergeant Lancelot."
"What is your quest?"
"We search for the holy armor of the Imperator."
"What is your favorite bolter ammo?"
"Kraken."
"You may pass."
"Oh, thank you."

"What is the air-speed velocity of an unimpeded bolter round?
"What do you mean? Kraken or regular?"
"What? I don't know that! Waaaaah!"

"There are some...who would call me Eisenhorn?"

"Can we burn her?"
"Well, is she a heretic?"
"She turned me into a grox!"
"A grox?"
"I got better!"

"Ah, what else floats in blood?"
"Brains!"
"Flesh!"
"Very small bolter rounds!"
"Ducks!"

I definately had no part in that... nope. Not me.

>_>
<_<

And don't listen to B4 if he says otherwise. He is obviously a heretic. Yep, a heretic. He's got the nose to prove it!

The only bodies found so far have been Arbites and you already know how they died.
