Retreat? We're supposed to be retreating? I was going to at least kill the first wave before falling back to a more strategic position.

The 'first wave' consists of thirty-ish utterly fearless Xenos, armed with Pulse-based weaponry, who're immune to anything less than a full bolter round and don't die when their heads are blown off. A similar wave is following.

Hey, I said I was gonna retreat. But I'm a Space Marine. The only type of retreating I do is aggressive. And you have no room to talk Mr. I'm-placing-a-meltabomb-to-go-off-after-we-leave.Pcm979 wrote:The 'first wave' consists of thirty-ish utterly fearless Xenos, armed with Pulse-based weaponry, who're immune to anything less than a full bolter round and don't die when their heads are blown off. Supressive fire doesn't necesserily have to make them fearful, merely make them cautious. Unless they're actually in the equal of astartes power armour, they're still likely to advance more slowly into that kind of fire than they would otherwise. And while they're doing that, the volume of their firepower would be reduced too.Pcm979 wrote:Just as a note, Messenger, earlier I had the Cat spend several minutes chewing me out for an earlier version of my post where I, much like you, attempted to 'suppress' 40-odd fearless beast who're immune to anything less than a regular bolt.

Well, if we kill lots of them, we might have time to retrieve Hamila's captive and then fill the place with melta bombs before we pull out.Charon wrote:Retreat? We're supposed to be retreating? I was going to at least kill the first wave before falling back to a more strategic position.
Incidentally, my Alien Hunters were wiped out to a man, (Huzzah) but Crassiros was the last man standing. He took a demolisher cannon shot to the face to kill.

They took the captive? Bah. I thought it was webbed to a wall. Oh well. Keep killing.

Three marines (More actually, but I'm just counting the players who seem to be online ATM, and not counting Mal - I'm sure we'll find something for him to kill later though) , bolters rapid firing in an enclosed space... I think we should be able to finish that wave pretty quick now...

It should be noted that Damon doesn't carry a bolter. :)
As for retreat...all he knows is that there's gunfire, and that means something needs killing. He's sorta kinda impulsive...what do you expect of someone with a jetpack, a polearm, a gun that might or might not explode in his hand, and pocket fusion bombs strapped to his waist?

The don't get intimidated at all by Metal Storm rounds or frag grenades and as I said, there armour is slighly inferior to carapace and they fuckers die hard. Multiple bolter rounds do do the trick though.
To clarify, these suckers are completely incased in an armoured carapace. Shuriken pistol rounds will penetrate, they just don't die easy.

Right, I'm off to bed. I'd appreciate it if someone could puppet Rause for the next eight-ish hours. It shouldn't be too difficult. Shoot things, slice things, speak in short sentences.

Would the second xeno force be close enough for the retreating forces to react to? Posted something, then realized they might be too far off, so deleted it for now. :)

Well wasn't there something about orders to the PDF to bombard the hell out of that position once the doors openned?

The second xeno force is a totally different area. The door down to the first area was near your ships. The cargo door was across the roof. And the PDF isn't here and hasn't recieved orders. You have given orders to some of your retainers to watch the door, but they are head pressed to go up against a dozen drone soldiers, let alone more drone soldiers backed up by xenos dreadnaught equivalents.

The cargo doors aren't that far away from you. Its just further away on the same stack. An artillery strike would come down on your heads.

Ah... yeah. That would be a problem.

Already made the post, but something occurs to me - do those rocket pods actually have anti-tank rockets of any kind? If not, I'll edit the post.

Nothing nastier than krak missles, but those have a pretty good punch.

There's about three score of the drone soldiers as well as another pair of war robots. Go ahead and kick ass, but remember your opponents are dangerous and no uber wankage.
