Gaheris sighed and pulled his cloak's hood over his face as he moved out into the street.

Torma's passage over the rooftops could be followed by sound alone ... the clatter of clawed feet on slate shingles, the startled coos of frightened pigeons, and the occassional *SNAP* that left a trail of feathers gently floating in the air.

And there was the mild bitching. "Bleh... what *did* that one eat last?!"

Gaheris tensed as he realized what Torma was doing. Running along rooftops in the Shore? She'd be lucky if one of these shacks didn't collapse under her.

For all her large size, Torma was still lightly built. It would be several decades before she truly filled out. With her length, she was able to spread her weight out to minimize the pressure on any one section of rooftop as well, moving quickly if something felt like it was weaker than the rest.

"Ooo... a nest! With EGGS!" the delighted comment floated down from the top, followed by a slight crunching/slurping sound.

"Tell me why we work with a dragon again Gar?" Astinius said, chuckling. Truth be told, he knew that the dragon's lack of stealth would surely make for a fight this evening, which honestly enough he looked forward to on occassion.

Malkamar wasn't indulging in eggs or wry comments. He had travelled with the dragon enough to know what this childishness meant: She was trying to lure the big, dumb predatory out to the slaughter. Thankfully, this was fine with him. Every eye on the sight of a dragon eating pigeon eggs was not scanning the shadows for a nearly-invisible man who, once you pierced the shadow, wasn't actually armed.

Torma was enjoying stretching her legs and grabbing a bite to eat as she rambled along the rooftops. But for all the child-like play, she was actually keeping an eye out for trouble.

Torma's tall vantage point gave her an excellent view of what was occuring. In this case it included a young man slumped over in the side of an alley, blood pooling around him.

She paused, her eyes narrowing in on the body. "I smell blood..." she said aloud, to warn her companions, then took to the air to glide in the most direct way possible to the body of the young man, landing above him. This close, she now could smell a punctured bowel.

"Oh... this isn't good. At all..." she said, noticing that the man was still trying to move. After a quick look around to make sure there was no one hiding (( Spot 15+21=36)), she dropped down into the alley.

"Lie still... help is coming," she said, trying to comfort the man as best she could. His clothing was slashed, as if by a knife, and blood was pooled from multiple back wounds. He had been here a while, from the way the blood had pooled. Torma was surprised he was still alive. "Hold on just a little longer... I know a paladin, he can help you..."

Gaheris started as Torma cried out and quickened his pace, moving towards the spot where he thought she was landing. He knew these alleys well, and cut into a gap between two buildings that he knew would open out behind the row of houses.

As Gaheris got closer, he recognized the man lying in a pool of his own blood as Solarian.

Malkamar had moved with the group, but remained hidden. It smelled of trap. It smelled strongly of trap. He concentrated, one hand in the shadows to yank forth a weapon if it went how he was expecting. Besides, he was no healer. He was better watching the others backs.

"Gar! Where are you!" Torma called, her head swiveling to look for the paladin. Dammit, she was going to start packing healing potions in her backpack... the wounded human was dying, and there was nothing she could do to help him.

Gaheris smelled trouble, but didn't have time to worry about it. He rushed forward, the translucent blue light already forming at his fingertips, and laid hands on Solarian's wounds, keeping an eye out for an ambush as best he could.

Healing power flooded into the dying man, closing the worst of his wounds and stimulating his recovery. His eyes fluttered open and then focused on his healer. "Sorry boss," Solarian gasped. "Wasn't paying enough attention to my back. Some dog lover put his knife in my kidneys."

Torma tilted her head to one side, overhearing the man easily. "So you're the one that Gar was waiting for? No wonder you never showed up and kept me trapped in that tiny house for hours."

Gaheris grinned tightly. "It's all right. At least we got to you in time. We have to move now. Can you walk?"

Solarian got to his feet. He was shaky. "Yeah I can walk." He legs trembled and he put his hand against the side of a building. "Just not well," he joked.

"Come on, we need to get you to a cleric," Gaheris said as he reached out to steady the younger man. "We can talk once we're somewhere secure. You need to be more careful. I won't be around to pull you out every time."

There was a Very. Heavy. Sigh. from the little dragon. "I can carry him," she said, in a dramatic voice that was half put-upon teenager and half wounded dragonic dignity. "If he thinks he's able to ride, that is."

Astinius finally spoke

"The abbey, and quickly." Gaheris grabbed Solarian's hand and offered his to Astinius. Much as the elf didn't like touching, he had to if he wanted anyone to go with him...

Torma, knowing that Malkamar was there *somewhere*, simply spread her wings out as far as the alleyway would let her. On wing touched Astinius, while the other wing scraped the shadowy side of the alley. If someone happened to be hiding in those shadows, and happened to think to grab the wing... well.. they'd get teleported too, wouldn't they?

Astinius had gloves for a reason and took the paladin's hand. His free hand motioning the somatic initiators of his teleportation spell as soon as everyone was in some sort of contact with him.

"Covos et Empahalian"

In a flash of light, they disappeared from the alley, and an audible clap was heard as the air rushed in to take their place.

A split second later, the group appeared with a loud popping sound and a flash of light in the Abbey. In act, in the chapel, where Astinius knew the most clerics would be at any given time.

"Solarian needs healing, ambushed in the slums" he said loudly, projecting his voice without yelling or seeming disrespectful
