Anywho, this isn't going to shake any of the True Believers who are running the show. It is practically a religion at this point. Anyone who deviates from the path, changes his/her mind, and doesn't happily and blindly march in lockstep becomes The Enemy, an apostate. Phillips will just be joining the ranks of the scorned backsliders in their minds, no matter how much he says that he believes in true conservatism.
