Of course, it was the name "Stargate" which drew my attention to this thread ;) I only get to watch when I visit Tev & Nit, but I was a die-hard fan til they killed off Martouf (*swoons*)

Well, if a Stargate (or Culture) game would be more popular, that's fine by me.

Alternately, due to the love for both ideas - we could mix them and make a crossover (provided I get to be on the Doctor Who side as either a Companion or Time Lord as I don't know all that much about Stargate)

Weeeell. I'm not really a fan of crossovers, but... That's actually a pretty nifty idea. Everyone gets what they want, and it wouldn't be to hard to work either- TARDIS 'falls' into parallel reality, SGC accidentally opens a Gateway across the multiverse...

I'm interested in a Gate game or a game with Gate as a crossover. As long as I could play on Gate side, so I wouldnt need to know a whole lot about hte other games.

If it goes Gate, I'll have to rethink. But I'm so married to the idea of an advanced human.. I wonder if I could sandwich an Enclave far-ranging operative into it somehow...

If it goes Gate, the Crossover possibility is still pretty damn large. We still do not know what the 9th Chevron does...

Or it could happen in another Galaxy, like Atlantis..

Stargate crossovers, eh? Humm...

Doctor Who has a similar level of crossover ability. In the Doctor Who alternate reality where there were more than just the one surviving Time Lord, they could have survived via making a Void-travelling Tardis, essentially. (But no WarTardises, we don't want anyone pressing the wrong button and accidentally disintegrating the galaxy because we're not all that free to fix it anymore.)

Well, the Doc did say that before the Time War you could easily move between universes. I can see a group of Time Lords who don't fancy dying fleeing into another reality rather than having the hammer fall.

The problem with a crossover is how easily the Time Lords could come to dominate everything. "Orii eh, right, give me a bag of chewing gum and some paper clips and I'll sort them out."

Don't worry, I'm sure there'll be opportunities for mass destruction anyway.

I suppose we could always do, yikes, two seperate games. Stargate one and a Dr. Who one.

So has this idea died, or is it still in the planning stages?

Planning stages, I'd say. Trying to think of how to handle things. I'll try and sort something out soon.

N.B. Your definition of 'soon' may differ from that of the globex corparation and its shareholders.

At last, I've actually gotten on top of things elsewhere... Soo. Anyone (still) up for a Dr. Who/Stargate crossover game then?
