#1 Anybody up for an FSTGOD?

Post by Rogue 9 »

Well, as they say, third time's the charm. The SD.net one died because Straha built everyone up to seeing him as the Grand Enemy and then quit posting, the one on the Paladin's Domain died because Lord Nightbringer decided to be a sore loser and troll his way out of the game, but maybe we can make it work here. Anybody want to try it?

Fantasy. Basically, a strategic STGOD in a fantasy setting.

So, you're in control of kingdoms and medievalesque armies? Sounds interesting.

Yes. I'll be right back with links to the other two that have been tried so you can see what it's like. Hopefully this one can be sans jackassery.

Well, I guess I'll get in. I'm gonna take my rightful place as Heir To Netheril before Ben tries to snag it. Probably one Enclave max, watching over Groundling Cities. Depends on the exact scale.

I might bite. Can't think of a nation I really want to run at the moment.

What the hell I'll probably bite. Likely going to take up the sword as the Koronan Empire again, though changed up some.

And I've never gotten to play the Eire-Pict Royal Confederation through, so I'll go with that. Now, who's modding? I know it was my idea, but I've never moderated an STGOD before.

Maybe it's time to start then Rogue  Yeah I might be interested, what's the tech/magic level and such?

I might be interested in running some elven nation, depending on the setting. Are we going to be working with our own fantasy ideas, or using some established universe, like DnD? (I'm asking because SirNitram mentioned Netheril)

I honestly think it best to run with our own ideas. I suggest a tech level to that of the High Middle Ages, anyone want to suggest a magic level?

I agree with the tech level. As for magic I'd say middle ground. Nothing like the FSTGOD we see that Rogue linked to where Ben was able to basically own anything that he wanted and had a character who essentially knew everything that was going on in the entire continent.

Agreed. I've always been a fan of using crossbowmen and things of that sort.

As for magic level, I would prefer something lower-end than, say, Forgotten Realms, but others might not want that.

To be technical, High Medieval includes heavy mail and crossbows, but not plate and gunpowder. Are we cool with that or do we want modifications?

The Confederacy of Dusk, somewhere with forests. Human tribes that have built large fortified towns. Ruled by an immortal witch king. Azzerekess, the Night Dragon, is the right hand of the witch-king.

I like my plate, though.

Anyway, I suppose I can moderate. How much structure do we want? A points system is kind of a given, and the minor/regional/major/grand power breakdown has become standard, but do we want to go the route of STGOD2k6 with the specialty tags and so forth, or is that too much? I almost joined STGOD2k6, but a lot of stuff came up to prevent it, so I never got in despite working up an OOB. Consequently, I don't know how well it worked out in practice.

Also, there's the map issue. I still have the modified map of Europe that we used last time hanging around if we want to go with that, or we can work up something new. Thoughts?

Frigid and I are currently coming up with a map based off of North America. The both of us are kinda tired with the Europe based maps. I'll put down the cleaned up version in an hour or two then maybe tonight or tomorrow I'll show you a modified.
