*Grumble* Why am I completely unable to locate a decent high-resolution physical map of North America? One of Europe was the first result last time.

As for magic, yeah, midlevel would work. You can just kill most divinations to avoid the game balance issues of scrying on one's enemies.

Oh, and provided the current map stays the same, I call the area around those two parallel running lakes. WIth prevailing winds, that are will probably be fairly heavily forested, which is what I am going for.

In terms of tech level. I'd like to push for brigindine or half-plate armor being available. Triangular sails available to some (who gets it being determined by the GM after hearing the case of those who want it and determining how good it is).

I'll call part of the land in the farthermost east, on the northern shore of what would be otherwise be Hudson Bay in NA. My realm will be a small power at best, an alliance of two human castles (and their surrounding villages) and some elves living nearby on the coasts.

I'm taking the end of the Yucatan Peninsula and the large island that should be it's tip.

I'll be west of the great lakes somewhere.

Brigidine is consistent with high medieval. It was never that popular in Europe, but it was in use at that time.Charon wrote:In terms of tech level. It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

If you're talking about the part that's shaped like a V I've already called that. Sorry for not mentioning that sooner but I've been rather busy today.Ra wrote:I'll call part of the land in the farthermost east, on the northern shore of what would be otherwise be Hudson Bay in NA. Anyway, yeah. I'm taking that V-portioned land, the island that's practically right in the V, and if it's ok the larger island directly West of that.
I'll get to work on drawing prelim's on about where people want to be. Or, to save everybody some time you could put in the rough boundarys of where you want to be.

I'm in, this looks interesting. Something in the north is exactly what I'm looking for, I don't care where so long as it's snowy, and cold. Those Aleutian Island-esque places look fantastic.

Oh. A note for you for whom temperature and the like is important. The Equator of the planet would be either just below the map or about where New England would be.

I'll take New England. Netherese are tropical by nature, and terraforming could be questionable.

Alright then, what about the southern shore? It'd be right across the bay from you.

Alright. I've added pretty much everybody to the map, which is still looking pretty bare so a bunch of NPC's will have to be made. Magi is going to give me some specifics on his position tomorrow. Cat, are you interested still?
I liked how Hotfoot dealt with things in his game that he ran where there was a big empire that we all had to fight first. That would basically allow for us to create alliances and enemies without needing someone to beat on at the beginning.

Yes but one of the problems was sheer overload for Hotfoot.

Wouldn't it be feasible to have two mods at the beginning, then? Just to take care of the 'larger npc' types.

I'd be interested in taking a small role, the starting role of a big NPC thing to help out, if nessacry, but i won't stick around for longterm in this.

I certainly didn't have plans on smashing whoever took that island so as to have a monopoly on that entire Bay's exit transport if that's what you're asking...
*cough, cough*
I'll get on that right away, and we won't bash on you as long as you don't do something stupid. And if we're feeling REALLY nice, we'll even go easy on you.
