#1 More proof that Islamic extremists need to fuck off and die.
Islamic fuckwits get pissy at yet another jab at religion from the mean ol' west.
Only this time they don't bother to check WHO we're pissing off. They just assume that Buddy Christ mocks Islam. What's next? The Hebrew Hammer mocks Islam? WOODY ALLEN MOVIES MOCKING ISLAM?
Fucking hell, it's things like this that make me want to grab a plane and smack the living fuck out of some of these people. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to go "Oh, look, that's the infidel jesus!"
For people who hate us and our majority religion so much, you'd think they'd at least try to pay attention to the objects of their hate. Nope, they just walk around with the Qu'ran up their collective asses and get pissy at the littlest fucking thing.
How much do you want to bet someone enacts violence to protest Buddy Christ? Any takers?

KuwatitimesBAGHDAD: Iraqi Shiite residents of Baghdad's Sadr City expressed anger yesterday over a picture of a grinning Jesus they mistook for a Shiite holy figure that appeared in the area after a joint US-Iraqi operation. Residents found a picture of "Buddy Jesus" from the 1999 film "Dogma" posted in the streets, accompanied by a badly photocopied pamphlet bearing a crude approximation of a US military crest and outlining a US "plan" to subjugate the neighbourhood. "That picture abuses our Imam Mahdi and his holy character, and mocks our sacred figures," said resident Abu Riyam, apparently mistaking the satirical movie still of Jesus for one of Shiite Islam's historical imams, whose images adopt a Jesus-like iconography.
The grinning, winking model of Buddy Jesus giving a thumbs-up sign appeared in the comedy film as a fictional attempt by the Catholic Church to present a kinder and more accessible image of Christianity. "If it wasn't so serious it would be funny," said a coalition spokesman, Major Will Willhoite. The pamphlets outlined a so-called plan to discredit the militias in the sprawling Baghdad slum of two million people, a stronghold of radical Shiite cleric Moqtada Al-Sadr.
"Destabilize security in the militia areas with explosions and assassinations to create panic" and "killing, raping and kidnapping women" were all measures the pamphlet recommended to cause people to lose faith in the militias. "Do not tell the suspect militias of these plans, but keep them among friendly forces," admonished the pamphlet. The US military did not confirm that it had conducted an early-morning raid into Sadr City yesterday, but said that an Iraqi force accompanied by coalition advisors did conduct an operation in "northeast" Baghdad. Much of Baghdad's violence has been laid at the feet of Shiite militias, many of whom are based in Sadr City, but US forces have yet to enter the neighbourhood in force. _ AFP
Lovely.

I know most of the people in that area simply don't know any better because public education sucks and they've been fed anti-western propaganda all their lives for generations, but Valen could those people kindly realise that
a) there's a world OUTSIDE their little corner of it, and
b) it's NOT stuck in the 13th century anymore?
Not only did this not mock your sky pixie (leave alone intentionally), it mocked OURS, but we do stuff like that ALL THE TIME. Grow the fuck up.

To those going: 'IT'S NOT YOUR RELIGION, WHAT"S THE PROBLEM?', are you completely unaware that Islam has Jesus as one of the Prophets of Allah?
But yea, more stupidity.

Actually, yes, I am largely unaware of that. Could it be that their constant bleating about killing all Jews and Christians has blinded me to it? Maybe. Anyway, thank you for the information, however, I still maintain that they're ignorant (considerably moreso than myself) and so ridiculously oversenstive as to be retarded. This, combined with the reaction to the Pope's speech strikes me as so stupid as to warrant continuous mocking. Maybe if we make fun of them enough, they'll kill themselves so they don't have to listen to us anymore.SirNitram wrote:To those going: 'IT'S NOT YOUR RELIGION, WHAT"S THE PROBLEM?', are you completely unaware that Islam has Jesus as one of the Prophets of Allah?

Except they weren't upset about us mocking Jesus. They apparently mistook Buddy Jesus for one Imam Mahdi.

I think we'd notice if a billion-plus people were really that upset, as opposed to a few extremists. One out of every six(seven?) people in the world being enraged is quite noticable.Hotfoot wrote:Actually, yes, I am largely unaware of that. On a side note Nitram, there was widespread rioting over the Pope's speech. And a numer of governments, among them Turkey, who is rather moderate I would have to point out compares to Osama, comdemned his speech. So I would say yes, the a sizeable number of them were upset. This however only happened in a single neighborhood and so is a local instead of global event.

I'm talking, by and large, about the extremists. It was even in the title of the thread. I'm aware that sensible Muslims aren't doing this, but then they're not the ones threatening to kill all Jews and Christians. On the other hand, it's the extremists who seem be the ones who grab control in many places, so...*shrugs*

You mean kinda like in the US of A?
Back when I first read Heinlein's 'If this goes on', I used to think 'Yeah. Right. The US becoming a theocracy. Bwa. Bwaha. BWAHAHAHAHA!.'
These days, I'm officially worried.

Bats I would say you're worrying about the wrong group of folks. The US is in no danger of becoming like Heinlien's novel. It's an overstated, tired fearmongering peice of shit to suggest otherwise.
