Gregori Bradley, Holy Inquisitor of Dahhok stood on the deck of the ship as the spray of the waves filled the air, looking intently in the direction of his destination.

In fact he only named the Yorathan and the LahkNi of the six nations he contacted: the Yorathan, LahkNi, Arcto-Morka-Morsum, Ã†thelmearc, The Netherese Republic (I guess--I had thought Dragon Riders implied The Agon Holds, but he is waiting for Nitram...), and Hylidaeus. The seventh group of ships were military and escorted the envoy to The Netherese Republic before doing military... ship... things.

And my diplomats will be talking with the Agon Holds as well... but since Nitram is right on the coast and he's got a flying city they're gonna talk to them first.

My point, since you're not getting it, is this CT.

I wanted to call the big gulf there the 'Inland Sea'.

You stated that the Freshwater Lakes in your territory were the Inland Seas... which they can't be, because they're FreshWater. I protested.

Nitram, reading this over my shoulder, made the joke that "only Frogs wouldn't get that"... refering to the British slang where Frogs = French, and thus comparing you to the British ideal that all French are idiots as well as playing on the fact your people are all treefrogs.

NOW do you get it? Or is that explaination also over your head?

Considering the little bit of back and forth here, I'd just like to conjecture that this -is- (whether the map is based in reality or not) fiction. If someone wants to make a lake surrounding their country salty--and thats not even the issue, as I gather it, they should be able to. And it seems you're just making an issue out of A word with multiple definitions.

Doesn't it seem a bit of a waste of time? It might save a little future wasted effort if a few of the major geographical features were named in game. As well as add to the suspension of disbelief.

I named my lakes

I think CT named his too. It's just that large bay/gulf/sea that runs thru the majority of what should be Canada that we're wondering.

The Nithgaard are going to call it the 'Western Gulf'. If I can remember, I'll look and see what a close Gaelic equivalent would be.

Wewt! What I'd really love to see is some more landmarks included on the map. I do appreciate all the work thats gone into it so far! (Good to know where that dragon is too.)
Somebody should name the Rockies and the Appalachians, at the very least. I know once their actual territory includes it, my people will be giving Mount McKinley a name.

If someone else names them, cool. I'm terrible with names.

Also, Mods will be handling the NPC states. If you have an idea of what you want an NPC state to do, contact a mod. City-states will be left up to players for the moment however. Until such a time as war come up, then they will be in the hands of one of the mods.

Also Harper, Rogue and/or I are gonna need to see that letter.

My bad! I talked to Rogue last night on AIM and asked him if I was supposed to be handling the NPC state I'd authored. The gist of his response was 'yes.' Unless I misread him, I didn't save the conversation, but for all I know the window may still be open on his computer.

But knock yourself out with it, one less thing I have to worry about. Oh, I was gonna post it in the thread, when I reply to his reply. All letterstyle. I'd PM it to you, but I haven't even written the thing out yet, so you're perfectly free to take the reigns.

As far as naming conventions go: I'm all for it! Hya! Unfortunately my lunch calls soon, and I'm proally gonna leave the office to hunt for food. So nothing from me for a while.

Other than the naming conventions, your history for the elves looks great. I'd said the black hair was a 'curse' from Queen Gliadrachan, but having them as half-elves would also make sense, and explain why Gliadrachan was so adamant about casting them out.

Also.. rumors say the leader was the Queen's son. That he had a different name would be understandable if she disowned him and he took a new name.
