#1 BOEHNER: Generals To Blame For Iraq.

Post by SirNitram »

GOP HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER JOHN BOEHNER: Let's not blame what's happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld.

WOLF BLITZER: But he's in charge of the military.

BOEHNER: But the fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president.
From CNN. I can scour around for a video if folks want.

Now, raise your hand if you think half the criticism for a botched jab at Dubya will arise from this outright laying of blame at the feet of those in the thick of it?
Half-Damned, All Hero.

Tev: You're happy. You're Plotting. You're Evil.
Me: Evil is so inappropriate. I'm ruthless.
Tev: You're turning me on.

I Am Rage. You Will Know My Fury.

John Boehner is a douche. I've been wanting to give him a swift kick in his shriveled testicles for the last two years. I haven't even seen him have a "broken clock is right twice a day" moment.

He could be a broken digital clock, which is only right once a day.

I could be pushing the metaphor to breaking point, however.

A broken digital clock wouldn't show anything at all. That might be apt, actually. The lights aren't on.

While he won't get half the criticism because he's not as well known a figure, I still think he's an asshat for it. All politicians are. Especially ones who have never fucking served in any capacity much less a command capacity. They have not clue fucking one what really happens over there in the sandbox and how shit goes down. They have no fucking idea what type of real environment that is over there and all they can do is second guess shit and sound like a bunch of fucking jerkoffs.

Personally, for every politician that says something stupid about the military, its troops, its commanders and its situation, I feel that they should be forced to serve at least one month in the desert, dealing with the shit we deal with. As should the people in charge who order us to be there. That includes, specifically, Rummy, Dumbya, and Dick. And concerning those three asshats I sincerely hope that the Iraqi accuracy goes up...

I don't know what digital clocks you've had experience with, but in my experience a broken clock flashes 0:00 until someone puts it back to the correct time. Since it's 0:00:00 precisely once a day, I stand by my metaphor.

A reset digital clock will. A broken one will show anything from nothing whatsoever to anything achievable by whatever combination its LCD/LED set is capable of displaying.

Broken digital clocks say weird, incorrect things, this asshole says weird, incorrect things, the analogy is good enough for me. But, whatever. You all know what each other means.

Rummy is an idiot, and the party seems to defend him way more than they should. On Olbermann's show a couple days ago, Keith mentioned that Mr Bush has every intention to keep him for the remainder of his term, too, despite the criticism leveled against him, and despite his pure incompetence. Now, surely Mr Boehner is attempting to defend the choice to keep him around (and, by extension, the choice to put him there in the first place) by shifting the blame. Sadly, that is nothing surprising, really.

I thought the fact that I was picking nits would have been obvious but as Destro pointed out it remains a viable analogy.

I think the important point we can take home here is that

1) John Boehner needs to be kicked swiftly and repeatedly in the testicles
2) If Boehner says that the sky is blue, check outside.
3) See #1.

Okay, shoot him first to make sure, but while he's bleeding to death, couldn't I kick him in the balls, just once? It's a personal thing for me. I staggered out of the Rayburn building at 9 PM after six hours of a subcomittee meeting he chaired where he spouted bullshit and predigested talking points the entire time.
