Terra's various nations control a half dozen decent solar systems and a dozen crappy ones between them. Each system is a hodgepodge of colonies and resource extraction operations by various governments. Russia, the US, Europe and China are the strongest power blocks and tend to form a united block when dealing with the Free Federation, which uses its enormous military, economic, and tech superiority to strong arm trade and territorial matters in its favor. There's also the matter of hurt pride when the Security Directorate basically ran all over Earth trying to root out Black loyalists at the end of the Free Federation's civil war.frigidmagi wrote:Still one supposes that we should feel luckly any part of Terran history made that far. What is the status of the homeworld in this universe?

Your enlisted ranks are very collasped. That tells me officers do alot in the armies and navies of both powers.

As I said, the enlisted ranks are broader than that, didn't feel like listing all the variations of sergeants, corporals, master sergeants, grades of specialists and so forth.frigidmagi wrote:Your enlisted ranks are very collasped. So, if I'm reading this right, The Killing Machine is a bi-sexual, since he/she had sex with the client before they got attacked.

He (he is genetically male) is an engineered infiltrator/assassin, the ultimate result of the Slaver Lords' Alpha program. They're pretty much wired to be bisexual, although where exactly they fall on the sexuality spectrum varies from individual to individual.LadyTevar wrote:So, if I'm reading this right, The Killing Machine is a bi-sexual, since he/she had sex with the client before they got attacked.

More detail in the future, but the Slaver Lords are believed deceased and the nations of Earth control a few star systems, they're bit players.LadyTevar wrote:I'm still a little confused on The Slaver Lords, and where Earth fits in the whole deal... :(

Lamech rejuvenated the old man? That would take psionics working at the celluar level, or damn close! Yes, it would hurt like hell, and the 'old man' is going to be damn hungry when he wakes up because of all the energy his body would have needed to grow/replace the cells as Lamech directed.
Unless Lamech was supplying that energy as well.
Still, the conversation between the child vampire and the Eldest was both informational and entertaining.

Yeah, he's going to be hungry although Lamech supplied a good chunk of the energy. The Eldest is very good at finesse operations with the One Power and has been best friends with the best human necromancer for not quite 10,000 years. It's in his skill set, but not easy.

A brief Whirlwind comment if I may. I do not think that Anay's (I nick named him okay?) supierior would call him a fire. There are two types of ice. The glacier, slow, unstoppable, patient and unending and the Icestorm, fast, vicious and explosive. Our young icemage is an Icestorm.

He would call him a fire, but that's more of a reflection on Endire's personality. As for the Icestorm, well you'll see.

In Nalifan's discussion of Religion and Where He'd End Up, I found two typos
First, in the sentence about a child's life. The first word needs changed.
Second, Practitioner should be Petitioner, shouldn't it?

I'm assuming you meant "It" screamed?A lance of blue-white flame almost too intense to look at shot from my hand and struck the wraith. I screamed, a long high pitched and mournful cry and then melted away into nothing.

There's a lot of threads unaccounted for and Jolan hasn't forgotten about them. Some free hints: Keys's joining Jolan's retinue and the PsyKing.LadyTevar wrote:That ending's too damned neat, Cyncat... What are you hiding up your sleeve, hmm?

Do you mean 'synch'?Alright, I'll put him in the training cycle for this, see if he sinks up
Another great look at Blackheart's background. I did NOT read this before I posted for Argent.
