She is wedded to convictions -- in default of grosser ties;
Her contentions are her children, Heaven help him who denies! --
He will meet no suave discussion, but the instant, white-hot wild,
Wakened female of the species warring as for spouse and child.
Unprovoked and awful charges -- even so the she-bear fights,
Speech that drips, corrodes, and poisons -- even so the cobra bites,
Scientific vivisection of one nerve till it is raw
And the victim writhes in anguish -- like the Jesuit with the squaw!

TeamhairTahal: Just to give Hotfoot happy thoughts: Argent resembles Grace Parks (boomer) with long, black hair to her knees
TeamhairTahal: Well... maybe a little smaller
TeamhairTahal: In the chest
HotfootB5: Hehe, normally that would give him happy thoughts, but I'm now imagining the wound on top of that
HotfootB5: By the way, you might just be getting ghetto stiches
TeamhairTahal: "Ther's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world..."

We need an init system.

That's the way I like to run things, but in this game I'm not a divinity.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

I'll be blunt. I'm tired of spending time writing out a post only to find 3 people have leapt ahead of me. I don't want race for post time everytime a skirmish goes on and frankly half of the bullshit in the game is the result of that. So we need an init system.

That's true, the insanity of what happens during action-laden posts is difficult, because you want to take your time and write something worthwhile, but by the time it's ready to go, five other people have posted, some even at the same time as you.
However, I don't know how any sort of simple rule is going to fix that. At the least, we'll need a small set of rules to organize things, and of course, action will have to wait until a player is online.

No all we need is an init system. You can't post until your turn.

Well the simple way, I suppose, would be to roll for init using the dice code for the board here in the ooc as soon as a group gets together for an action scene. Everyone get on aim, or whatever, make sure everyone rolls for init and go from there. Roll 3d6 and in the event of a tie, reroll with the winner going first, the loser going second and then from there, etc.

I was mostly just waiting to hear "posted" from the people I was fighting, and going off after I heard from all three.
usually how I handle that myself.

One simple way to do it is to Always Let The Speedster Move First... and then give him a chance at a second/third turn, since he's got the ability to move multiple times.

I think that when big brawls are happening (one on one's aren't hard, just go back and forth) either the GM or the players should, as it starts, determine an order in which to post, and then stick to that order short of extenuating circumstances.

I think Hotfoot and Charon have the best ideas. A chat window to keep everyone updated (as well as collaborate on posts), and try to stick to a posting order.
Although I still say the Spedster would have more than one action in a 'round' of posting. He goes first, then two people's actions, then him again, then another two... etc. Or, he could go right after the NPC/BadGuy, getting 'first crack' at him.

I would like to handle the speed thing on a case-by-case basis. Obviously, trying to surprise Hotfoot is extremely difficult (though hardly impossible), and I pop in and out of speed mode fairly often.
What I will do is that in any post I make, I'll try to post what I intend to do, assuming what I try to do actually happens. That way, I can make one post that can cover roughly the same amounts of time as everyone else. That way my speed is still a factor, but I don't have to constantly be making new posts unless something has drastically changed that I didn't consider when making the first post.
Edit: One little addition, with people talking in a chat and keeping a posting order is a good thing, but talking OOC about IC stuff is good too, so we don't step on any toes.

Real Name: Unknown.
Codename: Sculptor.
Age: Unknown.
Affiliation: Freak Legion.
Powers: Shapeshifting, Healing, Telepathy(5 foot radius).
Description: Apparently affluent man. If he spends any amount of time in his original form, his flesh begins to run, shift, and drip, like wet clay. Never seen without his bag of sculpting tools.
'Sculptor' is one of the dozens of Metahumans whose power came at a high price. Though his demeanour and dress points to a life of affluence and luxury, this is long history. Cursed with a face that cannot hold it's shape unless he's being someone or something else, he retreated underground with the Freaks to try and live out a life in safety.
Sculptor isn't really Ultima material, but in a pinch, he can be dangerous. After all, his abilities to reshape flesh extend beyond himself.
