"Sir, before I joined Ultima, I spent twelve years hunting people down, finding out about them, and then taking care of them. This actually is part of my area of expertise. And yes, I knew Frank. He and I worked together on the west coast. I was actually one of his groomsmen at his wedding."

"And tell me, Agent, what do you intend to do once you find someone who can take out Pratt and leave him staked to the wall of a building? Because if you're going to tell me you're going to turn invisible, I'm going to tell you that you're out of your area of expertise in dealing with someone like that."

"Sir, I don't intend to do this all by myself. All I'm asking is that I be temporarily attached to the investigation and possible man hunt."

Ghost nodded. "Of course, sir, thank you." He stood and left the office, returning to his cubicle.

Hotfoot frowned a bit. Ghost being expelled because he was a plant from another agency. It made sense, on the face of it, but was it really wise to get rid of the team's primary covert ops specialist?
Then Blackheart picked off the bug from his jacket where Ghost had patted him on the shoulder just a moment earlier, and all thoughts of sympathy for the ex-CIA operative had gone down the tubes. "Damn dude, even one on the team? That's some fucked up shit right there." He shook his head and put the older man out of his mind.
After Blast removed the tracers from everyone else, he shrugged. "Well, I don't think anyone knew me long enough to put anything on me...though there was that pair of pants I was wearing last night, but that's still at the Hostel I was staying at. Don't think I can head back there now dressed like this without attracting a little attention though."

Argent looked at Hotfoot wryly. Out of the mouths of babes....
"Now that we have found the bugs, the next step would be relocation, as well as finding less obvious clothing," she agreed, before her eyes go to Blackheart. "At least... that is what I would have done in my former life."

Legacies' form shifted and twisted as he crouched down near the floor, his shining silver suit twisting and fading until he looked to be wearing old ragged clothing that you would find among the homeless, his hair was just beginning to grow back in, and his long ragged beard was gone as well, revealing the great criss-cross of scars along his face.

Argent had seen this side of Legacies before. "What if we're not going to be on the street, Legacies?"

The deep silver eyes looked at Argent for a moment before the clothes wrapped around Legacies completely, his form fading from view for the most part, leaving only the faint trace of what almost look like the heat rising from the road in his place.

"Fine for you, and I've got my own solution, but the rest of them need something sorted out." Gravitas nodded simply, looking to Blackheart. "We've handled the bugs. Now we just need a place."

He did not waste the time it would have taken to respond to Ghost’s comment. There were times when one had to pick his fights and a nasty verbal exchange between two members of Team Mirage would only diminish him in the eyes of many. He smiled his best condescending smile, the smile that a world class kick-boxer would give a child that thought he could be a contender and let the words pass. He had made his point, what the rest of Team Mirage did with his words were no longer his immediate concern. Ghosts words were heard but he paid them little mind until finally, he began to see the writing on the wall. Maybe he understood that he would not be able to properly do his job, or maybe he decided that it was best for all involved if he left but he relented.
He was amused by Ghost’s last words immediately dismissing them. He had no intention of dying anytime soon. It was then that something peculiar happened, Ghost reached into a pocket for a moment and began to move towards them. His eyes widened ever so slightly, a part of him unwilling to believe that the man would be so bold. When he patted Hotfoot on the shoulder, his eyes were full of suspicion. As Ghost began to walk away his eyes flickered over the rest of the gathered group. Had they seen what he had or was his apparent dislike for Ghost getting the best of him? Moments later, Blackheart walked over to Hotfoot and confirmed his suspicions. Ghost was too bold for his own good…
He said nothing, but his mood immediately lightened as Ghost’s attempt to place a surveillance device on Hotfoot vindicated his thoughts about the man. Before he could gather his wits and dispel the smug feeling of superiority that had descended upon him, Blackheart and Argent were involved in another exchange. For a moment, he wondered if those two had history the way that Saibot and Argent seemed to have. He found himself blinking as an unusual feeling slithered in the pit of his stomach. He knew that feeling, but he was surprised that it would manifest now. Why should he be jealous? And yet he had to be honest with himself. Argent did not seem to be a one man woman; then again would he expect her to be? Would it change anything? Even now he could not rightly say if the attraction he felt towards her was hormonal or something else in its entirety. He did not know nearly as much about her as he would like, but time whispered many promises.
He frowned and looked away from Argent and Blackheart even if he was following every word exchanged between the two. Argent was dangerous and perhaps that was part of the appeal of it all. In the end, Argent and Blackheart settled their dispute if it could be called that and Blast was chosen to carry out the task at hand. His attention flickered towards Blast as he waited for some sign of success or failure, less than a minute later he saw it. It was reassuring that no one had managed to place such a device on his person. Maybe compared to Team Mirage he was not troublesome enough or important enough. Irregardless of the reasons he was clean and he liked that.

"I'm surprised anyone every got a good enough view of you that you needed to hide out," said Blackheart to Argent with a slight smile on his face. "But yes, that's the plan in general. Let me dump these into my apartment before we make other plans." He dropped down several flights, opened his balcony door, slipped in, and was back in about a minute.
"This is everyone's last chance to bow out easily," said Blackheart. "We will have to depend on each other, and each other's discretion, absolutely. Right now you don't know enough to endanger anyone who is going ahead. If you don't feel up to you can walk, but this is the last point where its going to be that easy. After this point, everyone's lives are at stake. If you have reservations, now's the time."

If Tachyon was confused, Argent was even more so. Yet again, Blackheart had delivered one of his back-handed compliments, managing to derail her arguments as she tried to figure out just what he meant by that.Cynical Cat wrote:"I'm surprised anyone ever got a good enough view of you that you needed to hide out," said Blackheart to Argent with a slight smile on his face. He vanished before she could come up with anything, which was just as annoying. When he returned and made his little speech, she shook her head. "I don't think anyone else is backing out, Blackheart. Give me a destination, and we'll go."

Argent rolled her eyes. "You would pick the one where my safehouse burnt down..." she muttered, thinking carefully as she mapped out Chicago in her mind.Cynical Cat wrote:"Okay," said Blackheart. "Take us to Chicago."

"It's where the stash is. We can still use our old bank accounts and plastic for limited uses, but alternate ID will allow us to stay below the radar. Reminds me, we might want to hit few banks before we blow town. Or shortly after, since Argent can move us around pretty good."

"Hit a few banks with like, ATMs and stuff, right?" Hotfoot shrugged, coming back to his usual norm of cracking wise. It was clear that the little scene with Ghost had hampered his humor a bit. "But...yeah, might as well get what money I can if we're going to go off the face of the Earth." An edge came into his voice at this point. He was really doing this, going undercover to hunt down bad guys. He never thought it would come to this, but it made sense in the situation. He wondered if his father ever did anything like this...

Argent sent Hotfoot a wicked grin, sending a sly wink towards Blackheart. "Oh no, he means knock it over to get all the money we can...."

"Money will not be an issue." Gravitas said simply. "At least, not in any foreseeable amount of time. I may not be a brawler or a government agent, but never underestimate me where I know my trade." A grin. "Chicago, huh? Sounds good. Let's go."

Argent looked around, shaking her head at everyone who was offering money. Guess it meant she'd not have to spend much of hers, even if she did have Zufu move a sizeable amount into an account she could access while 'grounded' by Ultima.
"Where's your stash, Blackheart, and I'll see if I can get us close," Argent offered. "Otherwise, someone want to suggest a place to stay? Mine are all ..." she stumbled for a nice way to say 'ran by the Chicago Mob'.

"On the off chance that someone has boom mike or a telescope and lip reading skills and is looking at us, I would rather not say," said Blackheart. "And Argent, organized crime is rat central and a surveillance magnet. We're hiding. Until this clears up, stay away from everything involving your old life."

Hotfoot smirked at Argent, "Well then I guess we'd better get cracking. You know, like safes. Right? Right? Ah, nevermind. So Gravy, we getting on your train or something? I mean, I feel kind of bad about not having much to contribute on the money front, but I can pay my own way if I need to."
