'Ra? That infamous System Lord who based himself around the Osirian myths on Earth?' the Master asked. 'I might want to meet him; he'll be a moderately useful ally.' He chuckled and leaned up against the wall.

'I suppose he's extremely lucky to have encountered such beauty as yours, isn't he?' the Master asked. 'Or do you not go for men with snakes in their heads?'

"No, I don't particularly find the idea arousing," Vexule chuckled. "That's why he's in his ship with the harbor master. But I'm sure I can run her out and get him to meet you - that is, if the Klingon hasn't beat him to a pulp. Their idea of sex, as it were."

'My only anatomical oddity is two hearts,' he muttered as an aside. 'But I'd say that he's a very brave man. I was tricked into having "sex" with a Klingon once; before the fact I was six-feet tall with brown hair and a rather well-built physique, and when I woke up I was five-foot-two, skinny and blond.'

He chuckled. 'But I shall let him have his fun for now...'

"So, were you being adventurous, or merely didn't know better, like Ra?" Vexule smirked. "One lies with a Klingon but once; but if one lies with a Romulan, they often can't go back to their own race. The Vulcans are that foolish; for they shunned passion while we embraced it."

'I'll probably never be able to go back to my own race,' the Master said with a measure of satisfaction. 'The Daleks made sure of that. But even if they hadn't, I'd be interested in finding out about all the various Romulan passions... I've got all my lives ahead of me, but they seem so very short in the long run of the universe.'

"And what point is there to having all those lives if you don't actually live them?" said Vexule. She stepped closer, adding, "Everything eventually dies; but should we allow ourselves to waste away, or enjoy ourselves while we still can? I can show you a whole spectrum of passion, Master."

"What's going on?" Lucrecia asked as she floated into the command center.

"We seem to have stumbled across a battle," Jackson answered, "Three Hataks pounding the shit out of what appears to be a lone Protoss carrier."

"We're going to help the carrier?"

"Yup."

"Sir," the sensor operator called, "the last interceptor has been taken out. Goa'uld transports and gliders en route."

"Increase to full flank for ten and blanket the area with EMP."

"Full flank, ten second burn, aye, sir."

Lucrecia pointed her feet toward the deck not a moment too soon, catching her 'fall'. Her legs ached under her meager weight; aside from the shaking, it almost felt like Earth normal gravity when the ship was under full power, something that has been rare in recent times.

Far away, the Warrior's microwave lasers fried the electronics in some Death Gliders, sending them out of control and off course; harmless, getting the attention of their motherships.

Lucrecia's muscles felt relieved - almost too relieved - as she returned to weightlessness at the end of the brief burn.

"Coil guns A and B, lead target, triple burst, fire." the Commodore ordered, eliciting a snappy 'Aye, sir' from the weapons operator.

It was so.... peaceful, Lucrecia thought as she watched the crew's calm efficiency, listening to Bob issue orders to the other ships in the fleet. She noted his conservatism with everything - fuel, propellant, ammunition. Not a single ship was ordered to fire missiles.

"Enemy alpha firing." the sensor operator dryly reported.

"Shields up, mode two."

Lucrecia was visibly surprised - he is just now raising shields! And in absorbtion mode, no less. Commodore Jackson is being even more conservative than she thought.

"Laser target: bravo, double cycle, fire."

"Positive hit on target bravo, target falling back. Enemy boarders now in carrier."

A new voice was heard, the damage control officer: "Enemy weapon impact, shields holding."

if he hadn't announced it, I would have never noticed, Lucrecia thought to herself.

"Coilgun hit on target alpha," it was the sensor operator again, "enemy vessels jumping to hyperspace."

"That's it?" Jackson asked, "EMP, pick off those remaining gliders."

"Hail from the Protoss, sir. They wish to thank us, but also are requesting assistance in repelling their boarders."

"Tell them we'll be there soon. Prepare a Marine dropship."

"Yes, sir."

The Master chuckled somewhat. 'Well I'm certain that you wouldn't want to show me in a corridor... perhaps I can show you to my ship?'

Vexule nodded slightly, answering, "Of course. Please, lead on."

* * *

Ra was sweating profusely, his shoulder bleeding from bite marks as he sat in his bed stiff. Qil'Yah sauntered over and sat. She gripped him in a tight embrace, sending a sharp pain through already sore ribs. He hissed under his breath, but remained mostly friendly as she sat with him.

"I didn't hurt you, did I?" the Klingon asked in a mocking tone.

"A little pain was worth the rewards," Ra smirked. "I think I'll keep you. I need a good soldier for my ship anyway."

"Would your friend, the Romulan Pataq, approve?" she asked, kissing him.

"She had better."

Qil'Yah then bared her teeth, pulling loose her robes and asking, "Ready for some more?"

Ra's eyes widened slightly, and he said, "I'll need some Tylenol first."

He could have sworn he heard laughing in the background.

"Who was that?" the Klingon asked, grabbing her disruptor from under the bedsheets.

"Probably my other crewmember, Galadriel," Ra hissed. "I don't know why I still haul her elven ass around."

"Sympathy?" asked Qil'Yah. "Your exploits with her are famous, though most people don't really care about the wars and their histories now. Just survival."

Ra wrinkled his nose, muttering, "Sympathy? Since when do the Goa'uld have... sympathy?"

The Master led Vexule through the corridors, both of them drawing stares from such things as Klingons and Jaffa - half due to their odd collective appearance and half due to the subject of their conversation being old war wounds that would make a Klingon cringe - before arriving in a select cargo bay. Smiling, the Time Lord gestured towards a blue box in the centre of the room.

'Here we go, my ship; the TARDIS,' said the Master. He let out a mildly bemused chuckle at her apparent scepticism. 'It doesn't look like much, I know - but what is without doesn't always reflect what is within. I'm not sure that your System Lord friend has too many visual indications of a snake inside his head...'

"It looks better than Ra's ship, at any rate," Vexule laughed, sauntering over. "At least it doesn't have hundreds of holes in it."

'This is an old vessel, to be certain, over a thousand years of wear and tear,' he said. 'But I guarantee it functions better than your friend's ship by virtue of its sheer technology.' Reaching into a pocket, he pulled out a simple key and unlocked the door, he put one hand on the handle briefly and smiled, chuckling. 'I do have another one with a better-functioning chameleon circuit, somewhere, I just seem to have mislaid it in time and space somewhere...'

Vexule stepped in, closing the door and eyeing the Master suggestively. She walked up close to him, running a soft finger across his nose and asking, "Tell me, does this incredible ship of yours have a bedroom?"

'Several of them,' the Master chuckled, walking over to the console and fiddling about with the controls and switches. 'I'm just going to set us into flight, just getting us out of that damn space station; the Klingon smell was starting to make me gag.'

As the central column began to emit a quiet wheezing and grinding sound, he turned to her, 'Now where were we?'

OOC: Now Ra is stuck with the Klingon.
============

Vex softly nipped at his ear, whispering, "Important business."

The Romulan loosened her belt, letting it fall to the floor. She then ran her hands across the Master's shoulders and up his neck, pressing her chest against his.

OOC: The Master shall probably land the TARDIS on the Aurora itself at some point in the not-too-distant future, simply to have a chat
===========

'Follow me,' he said with a chuckle, kissing her neck softly. 'The console room isn't the place for such things; it's far too uncomfortable for us to properly enjoy ourselves.'

Vexule followed him, briefly pondering what Ra had to be thinking. She mused, "I can only guess what he thinks now, having been abandoned with a Klingon. This 'Master' says he departed the station; going by the technology of this device we could be virtually anywhere. No matter. I'd rather be enjoying myself right now, that Goa'uld be cursed. He caused far too much stress for me."

The Master smiled inwardly. He didn't have to be a telepath to know what she was thinking, but his natural telepathic and empathic powers did help a little bit. He'd just acquired his first 'companion', an ally who could help him build his empire, and an attractive one at that.

He glanced into one of the bedrooms and smiled. 'Ah-hah! Here we go, a nice enough room. But first, would you like a drink? It feels improper to skip half of the stages, it might be a bit too traditional of me, but I feel as if a first encounter should always have at least a decent glass of wine aside it...' He chuckled. 'Or would that be Romulan ale, in your case?'

The Warrior's marines easily assisted the Protoss defenders in finishing off the boarders, but were then simply asked to leave. As they returned, the carrier disappeared into hyperspace.

The fleet coasted toward what used to be the fertile planet in this system to find it has been glassed and is now entirely lifeless.

Robert Jackson simply shrugged and ordered the fleet to move on to the next place on the list: Drax V.

ooc: sorry guys, I couldn't resist the urge to join the fun

"Romulan Ale?" Vexule smiled, walking into the bedroom. "I'd love that. Wine just doesn't suit my pallet."

She then took a seat on the edge of the bed, running a hand through her long black hair. Despite the Master's descriptions of his ship being ancient she found it far more inviting than the old, tattered bunks of the Aurora.

The Master vanished into the corridor, and then almost instantly returned with a bottle in his hand that was filled to the top with a midnight blue-coloured liquid, and a pair of small glasses in the other. 'Here we go, the vintage is 2953 if I'm not at all mistaken. My Romulan is a little bit rusty, though, so it could be 1953...'

Vexule took the bottle and examined it, a soft smile coming onto her lips. She answered, "Ah, an excellent vintage."

Taking a pair of glasses she popped the bottle open, pouring some of the blue liquid into them and taking in the scent. Relaxing, Vexule took a light sip of the ale, closing her eyes as she let it pour smoothly down her throat. The Romulan then lowered the glass, clearly enjoying herself.

"This is what seperates Klingons from Romulans, Master," she explained softly. "A Klingon will immediately 'cut to the chase', embracing the act without taking time to enjoy its subtle pleasures. The buildup is as important as the climax, which they cannot seem to understand. Without it, it makes an intimacy hollow and dimensionless. It is nothing."

'Interestingly enough,' the Master said, 'I have the same opinion on my kind of victory; savour it, reap the rewards as one goes along and then enjoy crushing your enemies under your heel.' He laughed. 'And we naturally enjoy life around that...'

He smiled. 'Would you like to enter a bit of a partnership; your subtle Tal'shiar skills and my own superior intelligence would make quite the good combination, wouldn't you say?' He chuckled slightly, and gazed at her suggestively. 'Of course, our little partnership would have other benefits...'

"It benefits us both, reciprocity in its most raw form," Vexule nodded. "A thing to be savored. I will aid you, and we will be... partners in many senses of the word."

Vexule put forward her glass to make a toast.

The Master met the glass in the middle. 'To power, my dear,' he said with a chucklebefore leaning over to dim the lights.
