"I see," said Blackheart. "I've tried cooking with my flash vision. Other than boiling water, the best that could be said for the results is that they are technically edible."

Li Na laughed, then, smiling widely. "Why do you think Marcus is doing the steaks? I charcoaled the grill, and Ember never let me touch it again. Of course, sometimes I think she did something to it just so she could play with the fire," she added thoughtfully. "Crazy Pyro...." a sigh. "Just.. avoid the basement until I can clean out her stuff... although I might need you to move the bed."Cynical Cat wrote:"I see," said Blackheart. "I've tried cooking with my flash vision. She tried not to blush. She really did. She failed miserably, forced to drop her eyes. It took a couple minutes before she could speak sensibly.Cynical Cat wrote:"If I threaten to go down there, will you start blushing on me?"
"..... Ember... played rough. with her toys....," she finally sputtered out, red beet-red. Considering she'd once told Daivd that Ember would have 'loved him', she had cause to blush. Li Na could almost hear her deceased partner whispering , suggesting Li Na demonstrate what was down there herself.

"Gods woman it's just sex and the toys aren't even yours," said Blackheart. "Of course, since most of my relationships are short term, fiery crash and burn types with sex being a major component, I may be a little biased on the issue. Of course, the fucked up childhood might also play into that."

"Easy for you to say," Li Na answered ruefully, finally able to look him in the eyes again despite the blushing. "I'm Empathic, David. The basement was *not* that far away."
Of course, she was also still rather innocent about sex at the time, as well, so that just added to the embarrassment.

"Ahhh. Right. Sorry," he said. "It's easy for me I guess. I know everyone will end up hating me, so I don't make the effort to secure anything long term. No point to it. Just keep it professional and job focused when I do have to interact with people or look for some short term fun. Wearing emotional armour is second nature."

"Well, emotionally I'm pretty much naked to you," said Blackheart. "Can't hide what I feel. Of course, I'm running out of time so I'll probably be dead before anyone new can hate me." He laughed. "In a way, I'm free."

He had enjoyed the trip. The memory of the vehicle still lingered in his mind, it was quite a car and it had been sometime since he had the luxury to drive just for the sake of driving. The fact that Li Na had been there with him had simply being the icing to it all and had afforded them both the time to clear the air and talk without interruption. His mind flickered as he for the third time considered the questions he had asked and the answers that he had received. He had suspected some answers but he had also been taken aback by others. Ultimately, he was for the moment satisfied that his questions had been proper and necessary ones.
Still, even knowing the truth did not make his situation much easier. There was comfort in the knowledge that he had gained and a weight had been lifted from his shoulders but there were still questions. Simply because there was mutual interest did not mean anything would come of it. Li Na had stated that he was the first man that she could not read and yet she was still adamant about attempting to form an empathic link with him. He could understand the appeal of it all, but would not the establishment of that link take away some of the allure?
He had gained answers but some of those answers had brought with them their own questions. He sighed softly, pushing the thoughts momentarily aside and focusing on the present. Progress had been made; thoughts had been confirmed and brought out into the open. He would have to satisfy himself with that. His eyes flickered about as he moved through the house. Li Na had wanted him to “entertainâ€

"If it lets you laugh more often," she answered, smiling at him. "Last time I heard you laughing I'd hit you with it." She meant when she'd linked with Collin, and then sent the emotions over the link into Blackheart and had him literally fall out of his chair laughing.Cynical Cat wrote:"Well, emotionally I'm pretty much naked to you," said Blackheart. She caught a glimpse of Elias as he passed by, and felt none of the tenseness from before. The trip to the store had aired out several things between them. He was interested, she had to admit she was interested... now it was just a matter of seeing where to go from there. Still... shopping with him had been fun.

Legacies, or Marcus as he was now being called, was actually wearing an apron that said on it "Don't blame the cook".
He'd ended up cooking enough steak to feed a small army, realizing that with how long it had been, even he was hungry now. Various spices had been added to the steaks as they cooked, and they actually smelled rather good. Legacies had done little about speaking with the others in the house, Legacies was not much of a talker.
The steaks taken care of Legacies had started working on spaghetti, sauce, meatballs, and a heaping bowl of mixed vegetables.
By the time Argent returned with Tachyon in tow, most of the food was done and was set on the burners on low to keep them warm while they waited for the others to gather, the patio was set up with plates, silverware, and glasses.
Legacies was cleaning up the grill with razor sharp blades that were extending from his apron with an almost surgical precision when he noticed Blackheart and Argent talking. Legacies let out a sharp whistle, meant for everyone there to hear and then spoke. "Dinner is ready."

Blast yawned has he rolled off the bed. He didn't bother making it, but then he hated making beds, there seemed to be no point has he would just sleep in them again in another 10 or 12 hours or so. He had found a room and went straight to sleep, even managed not to have any dreams. He was hungry and smelt something worth eating. Now the question was to mask or not to mask?
He had put alot of work in keeping his mask on, he was pretty sure a number of the guys in there had never seen him with it off.... Still they were suppose to be hiding, what was he gonna go, go crusing into the super market wearing his mask and a pair of jeans? That wouldn't work... There were a pile of men's clothes next to the door. He went digging through them and found a pair of jeans and AC/DC shirt. Hey, cool he did love the songs Dirty Deeds and TNT...
He shrugged into them, not a bad fit. He tucked his mask into his back pocket and went out in the quest for food. Being blown up and having a religious crisis right after that made him hungry.

Collin twitched as Marcus let out his whistle, mumbling unintelligably as he dug himself deeper into his pillow. He tossed around on the bed for a few minutes until the smell of the food made its way to his room.
"Haha, you fool! Now you have to choose! You can only save one of them before the other is destroyed by my Amazo-Lazors! As fast as you are, you are not faster than the brilliance of DOCTOR LIGHT! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Oh no! I have to choose between food and sleep! Whatever shall I do? I'm so tired I can't think straight, but I'm so hungry I can't keep my internal monolog internal! Curse you, Doctor Light!"
"Haha, my brilliant plan is working perfectly! Now then, make your choice! Hurry, or you shall lose both!"
"How dare you, you vile fiend! You know I need both of those to survive and fight evil!"
"Yes...yes, exactly. Without nourishment, you won't be able to move quickly, and without sleep, your famed agility will be hampered! Either way, you will be entirely unable to stop me from stealing the shipment of Trideo Monster Madness heading into the city tomorrow! Without those games, children will have to focus on their schoolwork! Thus, the brilliance of the world shall truly shine!"
"Noooooo!" Hotfoot rolled to his feet and lunged at Doctor Light, trying desperately to go faster. Maybe if he knocked out the villian, the Amazo-Lazors wouldn't fire...
A resounding thud could be heard through most of the house as Collin stumbled out of bed and ran straight into the doorframe leading out of his bedroom. Luckily for him, and the house, he wasn't moving at super-speed at the time.

"Too much gallow's humor," Blackheart said. "I'll see if I can work on it. First let me work on that food. Marcu,s those stakes smell damn good." Blackheart's mouth was watering. He loaded up his plate with food, before sitting down and wolfing it down.

Blast was talking by when Collin slammed into the wall. What the Fuck? He opened the door carefully and looked down, there he was sprawled on the floor. Okay...
"Hey... You alright man?" He asked.

Legacies shrugged as he finished preparing everything. "We have some experience with cooking, nothing big, but the meals get done and they're edible."
Legacies looked up as he heard the crash. "Well, there isn't a hole in the wall, so I assume nothing is broken."

... Damn he's weird. Blast decide not to ever try to put that thought into context considering how his live was going that was the road to madness. He reached down and started pulling Collin up. Wasn't Dr. Light a good guy in the Mega man video games?
"Come on man we'll get some food and you can take a nap you'll feel better after that, I promise."

"It's a very good thing your head's that thick, then," Li Na teased, stepping out of the way so Collin could see the breakfast nook's table was overflowing with food. Besides Marcus' spaghetti, there was a meat tray, a veggie tray, a relish tray, a platter of various breads, and a huge bowl of salad.
"As I was telling David... I assumed the two of you would be hungry.." she said modestly over the amount of effort the food probably took.

Blast deposited Collin in a chair and made a bee line for the table. He poured a pair of drinks, no ice, and cooled them down with a touch.
"Thanks for getting the food. I'm starved and Collin is half crazed with hunger." He said has he handed Collin newly frosty cup.

Legacies, or Marcus, smiled some at Hotfoot as a silvery tendril reached out and collected a plate that already had some steaks on it. "All yours, eat to your hearts content, may be the last time you get to for awhile."
Legacies himself had a large plate that was heaped with food that he was digging in to.
