yes but would the process cause the particulate mass to solidify? and if it does then you would have to re blend the particulate mass and re introduce carbonation creating something that I'm thinking would be almost but not quite entirely unlike beer. The Cleric wrote:Probably. The centrifuging will cause the unfiltered parts to stick to the ends of the chamber, so care would have to be made to extract the alcohol and not unfiltered particles.Shark Bait wrote:non alcoholic beers are made through centrifugation which spins the alcohol off. Would it be possible to induce a volcanic eruption? Let's say we could build a really powerful and deep drill that could reach down to a volcano's magma chamber. If we could do that, couldn't we make a few boreholes to release pressure and hot matter before it reaches a critical level and the volcano erupts?
I need someone who knows some geology here.

I think it would make more sense to cool the lava by injecting cold water. This has the secondary benefit of converting the energy you're sapping off the pocket to heat the water into electricity.Mayabird wrote:Would it be possible to induce a volcanic eruption? This is incidentally what was done on Earth in the Taloran-verse to the Yellowstone caldera. Coretapped the mother for power generation and to keep it permanently stable.

I'm looking over the schools letters to parents. 10% payment hike, jesus. Then I look why, and I get annoyed. Fine, city council cut funding, that takes up some 5% of the hike. Whats the rest? More culture. Jesus school, get over yourself, you're not a community center.
Made me think, with many schools nowdays operating into the later hours, what IS the purpose of a high school?

In my next life, I want to be a hydraulic engineer. If I could be an intelligent armadillo or parrot AND a hydraulic engineer, that'd be the best. I'd really have to be good in this life to earn that.

Random thought: Watched Richard Dawkins' Root of all Evil? The God Delusion today. Thought he was interesting, did some in depth investigation, but he was clearly biased with questions and perspectives. Granted, no more biased than the people he interviewed. Clearly intended for an audience of athiests and anti-religion types, as opposed to being a message that would actually convert deists and religious types to atheism.

That is only because you keep chasing them off, indicating that there's something especially satisfying about doing so you don't want them to experience. My advice would be to chase them off at mealtimes and learn to live with it. Actually my advice would be to start eating at the kitchen counter but I guess that is not an acceptable alternative.LadyTevar wrote:Cats will always find a way to sleep on the diningroom table, no matter how many times you chase them off.

Why is it that every single time I go driving somewhere that I have not been before, even if I have directions or know where it is, that I end up having to make a U-turn? I always end up missing a road or passing a driveway or something, no matter where I'm going, how long I'm heading there, or how certain I am. It never fails. I am almost wondering if I have some sort of trigger in my brain that ensures that I miss a turn just so I can pull the required U-turn.

The origins of buffalo wings:
People have wondered what possible evolutionary purpose is served by having vestigal wings grow out of the backs of buffalo, especially since the wings apparently grow back in large amounts and quickly after being harvested. The answer is that it doesn't really have anything to do with the buffalo's evolution.
In truth, it's the result of a parasitic fly infestation. This fly burrows into the spinal area of buffalo and induces growth of the structures that are called "buffalo wings." These growths serve as platforms where the fly eggs can hatch. If the 'wings' are cut off before hatching, the flies will induce growth of more wings. Multiple flies can infest the same buffalo, which is how wing places are able to sell such large quantities of them with no problems with supply.
Naturally, this fact is not advertised and is kept rather secret, as people would be disinclined to eat them if they knew the wings' true origins. These flies are also why people heavily season the wings. Otherwise, someone might bite into one and say, "Hey, this tastes like fly eggs."

I'm officially vetoeing the existance of European only and Japanese only game studios. IN the interest of amazing results, I now inform them that they must all use American engines, European game design all based off japanese ideas.
