[quote] As Hillary Clinton battles to keep her presidential bid alive, she may be getting help from an unlikely source: conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.
Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state's open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come.
"I want Hillary to stay in this…this is too good a soap opera," Limbaugh told fellow conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham on Fox News Friday. He reiterated the comments on his Monday show and replayed the exchange with Ingram.
He also said Clinton is more willing than the Republican National Committee and John McCain's campaign to criticize Barack Obama.
"We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically. It's obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it, they don't have the stomach for it," Limbaugh continued. "As you probably know we're getting all kinds of memos from the RNC saying we're not going to be critical. Mark McKinnon of McCain's campaign said he'll quit if they get critical over Obama. This is the presidency of the United States we're talking about. I want our party to win I want the Democrats to lose.â€

Yup. The Republicans know how to deal with Clinton. They've been planning and plotting it out for years.
Obama, they're simply at a loss. Clinton's trying their tricks on him, and failing. He's not getting mad, he's not trying to get even - he's stolidly remaining on the high ground instead of descending into schoolyard mud-slinging.
They've no idea how to deal with that. For them, it's accepted that someone's fucking underage boys here, someone makes money hand over fist in heroin deals there, someone has four mistresses and quietly pays child support to three of them under the table; to them, it's accepted that everyone has horribly mangled skeletons in their closet, and as long as everyone plays the shady game, then nobody gets outed - everyone's indiscretions are everyone else's insurance that the status quo is maintained.
I think this is why Bush all but nominated Clinton recently over their recent debate, and criticized Obama. Clinton, despite loudly playing the gender card every chance she can get, would play the game with the Republicans the way they understand and accept it being played. The status quo would be maintained.
They simply don't understand this groundswell of support for Obama, and they certainly don't understand how he's so handily kicking Clinton's ass so far. Obama outed all his mistakes already, so they won't have them as "insurance" for if he does something they don't like. The status quo as they understand and like it will not be maintained.
