Dragon Con is Labour Day Weekend, Aug 29-Sept 1 in Atlanta GA. Some of us are talking about going for the weekend, partially due to the fun we had at Marcon. This thread is to see how many are wanting to meet up there, and if we want to try to get room(s) together.
Devonie is the one in charge of the WV group, she's also the one who's been getting hotel information.
B4's handling the Southern States, although that's just him, passionxero, and DS so far.

Yeah, hit me up and let me know who all plans to possibly attend from the southern area of the US. We can try to get together somewhere and all caravan up together and see if we can't all just get one or two suites for everyone.

I intend to go, but I also intended to goto Marcon...and we all saw how that worked out. Depends on situations with work, and finances, but mostly work.

Yeah, I can confirm the hell out of that...
I'd put it on the books anyway. Check your leave policies. If I recall from other government jobs there is something in there that as long as there is sufficent manning that your abscense would not cause undue work increase or there are not extenuating circumstances for denying it, they can't deny it. Just because you take a lot of leave to have 3 day weekends when it involves taking your husband to the doctors does not constitute extenuating circumstances. If they persist with that sort of line, I'd make some waves and file a harassment complaint.

Doctor's appointments can be rescheduled. The only reason I'm doing them on Fridays is because the drive up and back (300+miles) wears me out, and Nit can't take over.

I call that extenuating circumstances though Tev...
300+ miles is a hell of a drive...... hardly something that can be expected to be done in a day for round trip.

Is this still on?
Cause I was looking... and it's only 8hours drive from WV (500miles). Unfortunatly, I'd not be able to leave WV until 4:30p Friday.... which would get me to Atlantia at Midnight.
