Oh, CT. I've already told you the Counter sphere was in no way the equal of having the sphere you wish to counter, plus there's the fact that you just got Counter. Even if your character doesn't realize it for reasons of insanity there is no certainty that he can stop what Francesco may do.

Actually, that's just fine by me. Our three mages have the loud and flashy magic - I'm quite happy with the more subtle types.

The primary defense is the earth shell. The counterspelling effect is a sheath around it, that at least hopefully is a disruptive effect that makes it more difficult to do things without line of sight

I apologize I should have made that more clear, if that is not acceptable I will be happy to edit.

Just FYI, my character's trying to gain about 300-400 feet of altitude before doing a thorough flyover of the town, looking for anything "unusual" beyond the obvious.

sorry about the delay in posting guys, I was away from home for the weekend and due to some issues with the electrical grid in my current abode I have not been able to install my computer just yet. I am bumming access from my brother's machine. :(

Ok.

So who is still in the game and who is not?

If you are in the game, what are you waiting for?

Still here, and still looking forward to moving along, if the game's still alive.

My character agreed to round up the remaining merc PC's and point them toward the Church. He found John (Silence & I), and he is presently looking for the last one on his list - Krystyna, Rukia's character, who's been MIA.

Following that, he'll meet everyone at the Church for Paul's Big Announcement.

I am here. Both in the sense that I have been posting (and not just on a weekend *gasp*) and the sense that John is in the church.

Is very interesting what is happening.

Norse up boys and girls. Wizard-smiths are as old school as you can get in Germany.

Be that as it may, in THIS universe wizards of any appreciable power are mental. Someone with as much exposure to the populace as the HEAD SMITH will have a terrible time hiding such a mentality from them.

So I doubt John's logic is anything but sound.

On a different note: where are the posts people? *whistles in the dark* I think I almost heard an echo in here...

*Whap* We have Norse fucking trolls and you're assuming a skilled craftsman who was talk the secrets of his trade by his master knows no magic because he doesn't fit your stereotype of what a wizard should do.

It's a well paying, prestiges job that requires a large amount of skill and essential to a community. It's craft that has secrets. It gets more respect and pays better than hedge witch.

Hell, even ignoring Weyland swords of awesome badassery (what were some of the nice features of that again?), blacksmiths were by no means "mere" especially one that is skilled enough to make armor or guns. Once you get that good it's at the point where Emperors and Kings are willing to kill lots of people and pay you lots and lots of money just to get your services.

What does this have to do with anything said?

John said it is unlikely Johann is a wizard (by which I meant and mean the monster type described in the info thread and which is played by Comrade Tortoise, Lady Tevar, and Marcao. And possibly you.) of the power needed to fuck with two other powerful wizards. This statement does not exclude the possibility he has other sources of magic, or is a weak wizard with his sanity still intact.
For convenience here are John's exact words:
John wrote:Not so fast there Manfred, think! If he is a wizard with the power to meddle with you and Francisco, why would he pose as a mere artisan? Moreover--if he has such a power, HOW can he do so?
John dismissed the idea Johann is a wizard powerful enough to be responsible for the weird shit messing with the other two. Does that really seem all that unreasonable a statement to make? The statement still allows him to be a wizard mage, just not one with the power to be the big bad enemy wizard we're looking for.

(Additionally your grammar is hurting my head and I'm going to say there is a chance I'm missing part of your point. Perhaps talk was meant to be taught?)

Post can be edited if I tried to do too much there.

If anyone tries to interrupt him he will try quite hard to get away politely and get back to his work, but I will respond to whatever comes up all the same.
