Axum was a real nation that existed where present day Ethopia, Somalia and Sudan are today. It also ruled parts of Southern Arabia at it's high point, mostly around present day Yemen I believe. It co-existed with and outlasted the Roman Empire.

And almost no one outside of Ethopia and a few scholars even remember it existed today.

I was told it was a distorted bit about Mongol advances, the hordes had some Nestorian Christians as troops and officers.

Either way, Ethiopia would have a high Bastet presence. I'm asking DS now what my unique background might get from the idol.

Although, Boxer might not like her answer. Bastet never pass gossip or secrets for just anyone to figure out.

Some of the myths put him in Ethiopia, either from distorted accounts of that land or because Europeans couldn't find him in Asia and went looking for foreign Christian kingdoms surrounded by Muslims that fit the bill.
