Normally a Knack takes 11 XP and one month, so no, probably not. But you can invest the XP and have half of it done, then when you next travel for two weeks you'll have it (though again, without a teacher it would normally take you twice as long to learn a Knack).

I just realized Ord needs some equipment that doesn't scream 'Lookshy' for this.

Good thing I've got a Craft excellency, the Gauntlet's Of Crafting, and some free time. Time to make some Perfect mundane equipment.

With the 12 experience points that will be awarded I will be utilizing seven to improve Melee from 4 to 5. That is the only improvement that I plan at this time. *nodnod*

When it comes to what we should do, my vote is to go to where the last attack happened and do some investigative work in the surrounding area. Hopefully, we can find some information that will prove meaningful as to what the crew of the black ship is all about and we can start the process of trying to predict what the next attack may be. Hitting Nexus for information is a possibility, but I would prefer to avoid something as large as Nexus right away. If we come up empty, sure we can hit Nexus but that particular city brings with its own fair share of potential complications.

With my 12 experience, I'm going to go a slightly different route than I originally thought, and spend it in the following manner:

- 8xp: purchase Awareness charm First Awareness Excellency (necessary to do ANYTHING else in that charm tree)

4 xp remaining
- 3xp: raise Archery from 2 to 3
---
1 xp remaining
- 1 xp: raise Larceny from 1 to 2
---
0 remaining
