......... Ok... that's just wrong in so many ways.

You've given Nalifan good enemies this time.

They have super fast reflexes, higher then normal toughness, telekinetic powers and oh yeah they can see the fucking future!

Tell me why the hell wouldn't they jump out of aircars?

It seems that 20 yrs have passed, since these Syndicates are wearing 80s 'power suits'.

I see his apprenticeship did him a lot of good.

There's this decade called the 70s. Includes US military commitments in this little place known as Vietnam.

Sorry, I keep forgetting that wasn't over til mid-70s. Vietnam is still a 1960s war to me.

SO... only 10 years or thereabouts.

I would love to see Nalifan's quarters protected by a panther, that would be highly amusing, even if it is leaning a bits towards another Infamous Drow

Now, is the Prince stupid enough to try to attack Nalifan in person.......

Throughout the 70s, the government was mostly looking to end it and get out. So in alot of ways it is a 60s war, that doesn't mean there weren't a shitton of US troops in Vietnam doing actual fighting during the 70s however.

Meanwhile, I enjoyed the Nal update, it seems the sword bit actually earned some grudging respect from the King. Good move there. Also my opinion of the King went up a notch, at least he's not a total and complete idiot.

A rather cavalier off-handed representation of his life, but it covered the basics nicely. I enjoyed it.

However, there are typos :(

So he's sounding like a Chaotic Good Half Demon/Teifling Sorcerer. Of course like me when I was writing Warren, I'm fairly sure Cat doesn't feel to bound by game mechanics, nor should he.

D&D game mechanics bite, and besides I had Nalifan garrote another epic level wizard. Do you know how long that would take if he managed to pull it off in D&D? Game mechanics approximate how a world works and D&D's have always had a high amount of abstraction. If it makes you feel better though, pretend I've nabbed the totally compatible variant damage system from Black Company D20.

As for race, human with Abyssal Heritor feats (Tieflings are great flavor wise for sorcery, but the 3.0/3.5 Cha penalty bites). Yes, I like those feats.

Found another typo re-reading the new chapter:

Smart... learn the political and social layout of the land. If the gangs are buyable, they can be used to help with defense.

Thanks for making this a good morning

Right on the first, wrong on the second. Gang members make horrible soldiers.

Besides, they live in the city and if they have the brains of a rat should know that the barbarians will kill them just as dead as anyone else. If they can run they'll run, and if they'll fight, they won't need bribing.

I didn't say soldiers... I just said 'defense'. ;)

Anyway, it seems your little sorcerer/scholar had a better education in self-defense than you'd let on. 3 men in a handful of seconds ... not bad.

He also got skull thumped and kidney stabbed. If he was pure human, he would be dead.

Better just for influence peddling and establishing an income he can use to prepare for the invasion. I imagine he will try to "procure" both the merchants and gangs in some way. Manipulate them both into diverting funds in his direction
