No offense Haven but Lysander is growing less and less certain that having Iona on the team is a good idea.

I can tell you at this point the team has, in one way or another, pointed out a few ways to successfully complete this mission. Just leave room for the unexpected, and you'll all do fine.

I'd recommend finishing up the planning, since Monday is when things will start getting interesting.

After a marathon sprint through the TOR beta weekend, I am now paying attention once again.

Just to keep this simple, here's the system I'm going to be using for combat, since pretty much everyone's on a different timezone. You post your (move, act, move) action, then you wait for everyone else to act once, then you can go again.

Have fun. :)

I slowed the pace a bit in case anyone wants to ask Shepard (or Wrex) any questions first. If any of you want to ask, go for it. Otherwise, I'll move things along to the actual start of your first Trial.

Since this issue came up in the Transformers game on these forums (courtesy of me, as it happens), and since we have some newer players here, I want to make sure you know and understand one of the cardinal rules of RP in this fashion.

Thou Shalt Not Automatically Hit.

What this means is that in your game posts, during combat conditions, you must specify which target you are attempting to affect, and write accordingly - but you may not also post the results of that action in your post. You may say you are shooting your assault rifle at a particular enemy as your action, or use the biotic power Warp against a particular enemy (as but two examples), but you may not say that you hit them or affected them.

If you do, your action will backfire in terrible ways open to my malicious imagination.

If you have questions about this, feel free to ask me via IM, Skype, or PM.

Hence if you attempt to fire Warp at an enemy and state that it hits, you might come up with an answering post stating that they ducked behind cover to dodge it and grab the offending player with a Lift instead? Leaving them open to attack from all the other enemies in the room.

That would be one good way of making an example out of a character, yes.

So For my character I could say something like this ?

Junko charges target A, if in range use rend, if not use pistol, charge back to cover over *here*

and I actually already know this rule from past RP experience :)

That would be...more or less narrative heresy.

When he says "Move, Action, Move" i'm pretty sure Storm means something like this....

Glancing around a corner, Soleimon Berserker quickly marked targets before diving out of cover to dash behind a piece of appeared to be a downed Jeep that had been off to his left, wincing as a stray round planted itself directly into the side of his leg.

Sliding behind the god sent metal wreckage, he growled out a curse at his luck before popping out of cover for a moment, bringing his assault rifle to bear on the merc who'd just pulled the pin of his grenade.

Without pausing to see if he'd had any luck hitting the explosive lobbing mercenary, the dark skinned soldier dropped back behind cover to escape the newest hail of enemy fire fell on his position.

....Or something like that. That's how I took his meaning anyway, correct if i'm wrong of course but I think that gives enough action and reaction to allow the GM to work with it. My character could have missed, could have hit, possibly even caused the enemy to drop the grenade if I was REALLY lucky.

Yeah totaly

Move action move is *what you can do*

type it however you want just dont say you hit is my understanding

Though for example what if I charge someone *move* .....to get into rend range to use rend Action then Junko will charge back to cover B move..

what happens if my charge doesn't get me in range? or something prevents me from using my rend? should my action that turn be forfeit? or should my char shoot her pistol instead?

let see if i can write that in character hmm

Junko prepares to charge to target A to attempt to use rend on target A and then will retreat via charge back to her starting cover

hmmm tricky need to make it more character narrative then 3rd person lol

Sabre? You are racing far ahead of the others. I'll give you your results once everyone else has a chance to catch up.

I should note that I am not known as a creative or wildly original tactician. I've been called effective, destructive and once insane (I still feel that was uncalled for) but not creative.

Junko is having similar thoughts right now as she avoids detection which at the time she was unable to comm back saying

"Guys the shuttle left right, move back let me get around and I will distract the casually walking fire team away then once I get them moving away you guys could act, but no your all gun ho :)

she feels like she been forgotten :D

she is swearing in a few languages atm lol

I sympathize, but given the size of our group we were unlikely to able to hide our presence once they starting looking for us.
