In TNG and onwards it seemed like the Romulan Fleet only had one ship class, I take it this won't be the case for yours?

They won't have a lot of different ship types and their warbirds will be their fleet backbone, but there will be more variety.

Diplomacy may be cheaper yes... But is it has fun as an invasion? I think not.

If the good marshal was talking about Nalifan personally instead of people who play in Nalifan's league that might be a problem.LadyTevar wrote:Nitram can believe Nalifan as a 'legend', but he says 'hero' is stretching it

I can tell that you were in a hurry with the last Whirlwind chapter. There were several typos, too many to C&P :(
Otherwise, what a FANTASTIC demonstation of what one epic level necromantic mage can do to a low-level army. Kaeryn would child him for not letting them retreat, but reluctantly agree that those killed would not be sent against them in the next wave.

Starfleet needs more Marines.
On the flip side military doctrine as always been to destory retreating enemies when possible. There is nothing good about allowing the enemy to escape to try to kill you again, despite what Hollywood tries to push.

*AHEM*
You may think that the undead are just another tool, like a sword or a conjured ball of fire, but they are not. They are anathema to life, and no matter what end they are put to, they bring evil to the world. -- Gaheris Trollbane, Paladin of Tyr
And yes, I'm quite well aware of how little Nalifan thinks of what a lowly servant of the divine has to say, but he'd say it anyway.

I'm aware of that, but in a fantasy setting with cannon fodder conscript troops, some people (eyeballs Rogue) might show mercy. Nalifan isn't one of them.frigidmagi wrote:

Showing mercy to the type of people who use cannon fodder troops is a good way to ensure you'll drown in said cannon fodder. That said, I have no problems with the arch mage's handling of the situation.

My my... updates to all three genre today.
Interesting trick with the Tarot. Are they always showing those faces, or do the cards change?
Nice exchange between the Klingon Captains.
Ah... more from the IceMage. I wondered how he was doing.
Tycho's stategy seems to play right into Nalifan's hands. As for the psionic/mage, of *course* he'd have a clone body somewhere. Paranoid bastards.

Rogue, even Astinius would use undead. Gaheris may not like it, but so long as the undead are destroyed at the end... they are useful...

There are only 300 or so elves left? No wonder my boy is so determined to get these back home.

Since the IceMage had his memory blocked before he left the hidden elven city, this may be what they planted to fool any PsiLord trying to break him. 300 elves are a pitance, not worth the work to chase down. A full city, on the other hand, is going to have the PsiLords out in force.
That's my idea, anyway.

They missed the total elven population when they hacked up his memory although he has no details about the city or its inhabitants in his mind. Even elves miss things.

I leave for a weekend, and the typos appear. He was graffiti and men passed out in alleys along with the usual predatory operations. Pawnshops with bared windows,
Otherwise, great additions to the story, m'friend.

I'd not call a ship just over three feet long a 'corvette'. I'd barely call the damn thing a fighter. There's other typos in the story as well... at one point it looks like you're calling your Jedi a 'him' instead of a her. Very confusing in some places who's doing what; not your normal easy flow. You may want to go back over the last two chapters of ShadowWar to find all the problems. The escorts were one meters long and the same golden color as the barge.

The "hundred" on the corvette got dropped somehow. Corrected. I can't find any place where I call Vann a "him" after checking.LadyTevar wrote:There's other typos in the story as well... at one point it looks like you're calling your Jedi a 'him' instead of a her. Perhaps it was me, confusing the action between Vann and her opponent, then.Cynical Cat wrote:The "hundred" on the corvette got dropped somehow. Corrected. I like the 'Mary Sue' you're coming up with. I want to read more of it. Although, you need to go over both chapters again for typos. There were more than I could C&P.

The truely ironic bit about that talk? Hitler never won an election.

Quite correct. It was being part of a governing coalition that put the levers of power into his hands.frigidmagi wrote:The truely ironic bit about that talk? Hitler never won an election.

Still one supposes that we should feel luckly any part of Terran history made that far. What is the status of the homeworld in this universe?
