I must be a ditz because I didn't get that one.
Anyhow, Tsukiko is progressing with the Ritual, and when she completes it, Redcloak is in trouble, since then she can be the Divine component of the Great Plan. It's like when she said she wanted to replace him.
I'm assuming that ritual is the Dark One's ritual - what other ritual could it be?
Anyhow, now I definitely know I'm a ditz since apparently I've forgotten how to use the spoiler tags. I micro-sized the text instead.

Looks like trouble, and I wonder who sent this blue half-dragon guy. I don't think it fits Team Evil's MO, so it might be either Girard or possibly Lord Tyrinar.
EDIT: another possibility is that this is a Tiamat cultist who is trying to avenge the deaths of the black dragons.

Could be someone whose girl/boyfriend got wacked by familicide and went to see the wonderful oracle. Or was sent in by Tiamet. Or works for the Sorcerer and decided to kill the questionable adventurers digging around for his boss. Or from the Linear Guide (I give 1000 to 1 odds against that, this is to sudden and competent for Nale).
The possibilities are endless.
Side Note, we really do see some character growth from V here. Rather then berating his best friend for saving her boyfriend instead of him, he comforts her while quietly admitting the odds are not good. At this point lecturing Hailey wouldn't be helpful. Besides, they might get lucky right?
So... how many panels til Durkon and Roy show up to save the day? Bets?

yeah I thought our evil ecumenical committee talked her out of that though? Plus this guy doesn't look like a cleric. I think he's a fighter or an assassin (PrC) working for money or for personal reasons...
Oh! What if he's a fail safe plan by Big Black Momma?

Also Haley? Run.
I think blue there is a half dragon. Not sure about green, any thoughts?

I'm thinking lizardman for Mr Green.
And new comic: 714
They didn't take Haley too, that's going to turn out to be a mistake.
And damnit, the party is split again.
Since they were going for capture not kill, does that tell us anything about who is behind it all?
EDIT: fixed the page number.

Classic evil twin hijinks.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

Hopefully Roy makes his INT roll.
And then Belkar freaks people out by being the first to say "Ok, we go rescue them"

In The Empire Now
I like the Union Joke there.
There is no Lizreaper
I really want to know who those statues are of...
Dragon Emperess satisfaction not guaranteed, no refunds or trade ins
Okay so here's what I got from the Empire of Blood. It's lawful and loves, and I mean loves paperwork. Given the weather, I imagine paper importers make a bundle here. Slavery is legal to the point that slave drivers are unionized. Top positions are controlled by scaly folk. Indirect rule is the name of the game, at least today. Nale is somehow responsible for this power structure or it's current occupiers (could it be that the farther he is from the OotS the more competent he is?).
Lastly, I could make coins hand over fist running in blank notebooks and cattle. I can even get good karma by buying slaves and setting them free.

I think we're seeing a workable Lawful Evil Kingdom, and I think we'd be able to make good money there. We'd just need someone good at (forging) paperwork.frigidmagi wrote:Lastly, I could make coins hand over fist running in blank notebooks and cattle. We just don't want to stay in there. If nothing else we would drown in red tape.

Is V's speech a quote of some sorts? I could have sworn I've heard something like that before...

720 The Empress will get up in your grill and it'll snap like a twig.
Okay, so we know she's hungry, not very bright and evil. ... She begins to remind me of some family on my mother's side. Man, don't dragons start as human level int and go up from there?
