I tend towards the North as well, though have very strong ties to Peace River and Paxton Arms. That said, I'd probaby roll with the Mercantile Federation in the Northern Lights Confederation.
However, it should be noted that occasional vacations to Ashanti are always in style.
The biggest thing that bugs me is the Northern Fanaticism. WFP and NL both have it pretty strong, and the Causus Belli for the Interpolar War was seriously influenced by said Fanaticism.
